Fabulous Benchtop Oven - Love Them!!!
Bought one 5 years ago from Big W Can accommodate a surprising Nb of casserole dishes etc it is so nice and spacious inside yet compact on outside. My advice to people with complaints is: of-course, countertop ovens get hot when in use, so place further back on kitchen counter and this will also give the door a place to rest when open. I purchased the latest model last year because I neglected cleaning on a regular basis to keep it nice - I look after my new one. Not only do I bake cakes and muffins with no problem, now I bake hamburgers and r...Read more

Absolutely great
Wanted a bench top oven till kitchen Reno done, was totally surprised how good this little oveni is, you get trays, pizza trays and rotisserie accessories, plus the two shelves! yes it's small so you have to adapt abit, have done roasts, pizzas which were great, haven't tried the rotisserie but it's doing the job brilliantly!

Trips RCD switch
Bakes Grills etc great - especially pizza but..keeps tripping the RCD switch and one side of house loses power. Electrician says faulty oven - this is my 3rd Sunbeam Pizza Bake and Grill in 3 years so not happy. Extremely disappointing as when working cooks well and saves power/money rather then using conventional oven.

Nearly Got Electrocuted
The oven kept tripping the power and upon investigation we found that the two top heating elements were buckled and touching the metal frame. This could have been fatal and obviously a design and safety error that should be fixed. I am currently waiting for an answer to the problem.

Excellent...with reservations. I have a lot to say about this little $100 beaut
I am now on my third one of these, over the years. The first one simply got grubby, after being used at least once per day for over 2 years. The second I had to have replaced, as when I was cleaning it I sprayed it with cleaner spray and the stuff got into the electrics (reservation 1). I reckon this would not have mattered as the heat from the oven would soon have dried it out, but it made the RCD trip every time I turned on the oven, so it never had a chance. Reservation 2 is that, as with any electric oven grill I have tried, it is pretty mu...Read more
ch useless. If you place something right up under the top grill, the cooking is very uneven due to the widely spaced heat bars. Any further down and you get no grill, just a cook. BUT... I am a guy that likes to get the ridged griddle smoking hot then sear. Reservation 3 is that at this price, there may be QC issues. There have been complaints of inaccurate heat control and although I have not had that trouble, I would believe it could happen and would call that a warranty replacement issue if it was way out. Other than that, this is a magnificent oven. I use it every day still, at least once, for roasts (slow roasting and crisping), baking fish, cooking sausages finishing off spanish omelettes. It is far faster to heat than a wall oven and is large enough to take quite a family meal. The different heat patterns allow different cooking methods, which I find very versatile. It can also allow cooking food more evenly if, for instance, you have a large chook etc and need to place it lower in the oven. Then I would use Pizza-Toast, to crisp the chook without overheating it from below. I do not know any oven that you do not have to learn to work with and I have cooked in a $3500 oven. The limitations of room and closeness of the heat bars to the food are just something you need to learn to work with, and they can actually be very useful, in a way that a larger oven can not, if used with thought for this as a versatile tool. So given that this is about $100 and meant to be a small economical oven, I rate it excellent for what it is. I simply would not use a wall oven every day as I do this little gem. Because of this I have learned many new ways to use an oven and my diet is better for it.Similar opinion? Write a review on ieatwords.com.au!

Perfect for my Van
Living in a caravan with no oven this is perfect for my needs, this is an upgrade from the last toaster oven its bigger and has lots more power and heat,The thing i love most is basting baby back ribs in there after pressure cooking yum! Roasts come out great and just love crunchy spuds, Cakes & muffins come out nice too just need to keep it (Temp) low. And surprisingly makes a mean ham cheese tomato toasted sanga. Overall I love it with no complaints.

Great little tool
I cannot understand how anyone could crack the wire rack, and the bright idea would be to not hang the door, but let it rest on the benchtop.I know for a fact that some expensive wall ovens can be out 20-30 Deg C in temperature, but if the oven does not cook, take it back and get it replaced. I had one of these that faiIed and I just replaced it at the store (Good Guys). I use this thing just about every day and, at $100, if it lasts a year it will have paid its dues! The previous one lasted 3 years and we decided to get another one because it ...Read more
started to look a bit grubby, having cooked probably 600 meals: probably 10 years in the life of the average wall oven! I roast, bake and grill in this thing and the ability to choose different combinations of top and bottom elements makes it very versatile. I think with a bit of care and realising that a tool is designed to do a job, not everything, you should get great service from this little gem.Similar opinion? Write a review on ieatwords.com.au!

Great little oven
I love this little oven, perfect for two people. Great for heating frozen pies etc, I have cooked roasts in it and it is makes good toasted sandwiches without squishing them. I haven't tried cakes yet. Looks good and does not take up too much bench space. The outside does get a bit hot but doesn't every oven.

Totally Useless!
This oven is only good for keeping things warm! Oven gets very hot on the outside of the unit. Makes strange
cracking noises all the time. Had to attach magnet to door to keep it from falling forward as door is very flimsy.
Doesn't seem to cook or bake anything properly - always underdone. Wish I had never bought it - very disappointed with the quality of this unit - Not what I would expect from Sunbeam. This purchase has really put me off buying other Sunbeam products. Overall quality is terrible.
Keeps things warm - and that's about it.
A great deal - quality is very bad - very flimsy - thought door was going to crack the first time I used it.

Does the job nicely
I purchased this oven as I am renting an unit with no wall oven so it is used a lot, I have been very happy with it in the last ten months, nothing has gone wrong with it. I have cooked some really nice roasts in it and it seems to suit this type of cooking. To cook cakes I have had to turn down the temperature I think because the heating elements are so close to the top and bottom of the cake it tends to burn and dry it out, it is better turned down a bit. I don't think it is very efficient as it looses a lot of heat and is only very thin ...Read more
metal around it. Cooking some casseroles or lasagne or anything that might boil over I have found that it is best to put the dish on the roasting tray provided to catch any mess as the bottom of the oven can be difficult to clean even with the removable tray. Some staining is starting around the door from smoke coming from the oven during cooking. Giving it a good wipe after cooking is keeping it cleanish but I find it difficult to get some stains off. I do a lot of roasts in it and it is coping very well mess wise. I find toasting in it drys out the bread a bit so it is best to have the toasting grill hot before adding anything. I use this oven at least five times a week it gets pretty hot and I can cook anything in it. I can cook anything in it as with a wall oven. I have not missed having a wall oven other than for baking. Not great to make cakes with but otherwise great. Obviously can not put large baking dishes in it and am having trouble finding a small flat tray to cook biscuits on in it.Similar opinion? Absolutely marvellous
I do not use my very sexy looking Italian gas oven any more. The Pizza Bake and grill cooks beautifully and quickly everything, including bread which I cook often. It is easy to clean and I would not be without it. I have recommended to several friends who are now converts. You can keep your wall ovens which take a day and a night to heat up. The Sunbeam Pizza Bake and Grill is great.
Quick to heat (no pre heating needed), cooks evenly, very energy efficient. Can throw away after a few years if I dont feel like cleaning it!
Nothing wrong with it, it is the ants pants.

Surprised!
Well even after reading all the bad reviews regarding this oven I still decided to bite the bullet and go ahead as it was just the right size and price for my requirements. Set up more in a lunch room type environment rather than being used as a home oven. (Why would you want to cook a roast in a 1600W toaster oven??) Used mainly for heating pies, cooking pizza, toasted sandwiches and reheating meals etc I have found that it has worked flawlessly! The oven gets plenty hot enough and heats up very quickly, the outer casing gets hot to touch and ...Read more
requires a bit of clearance to surrounding objects, so far am 100% happy with purchase Inexpensive, quick heat up, plenty of cooking options, timer Only 1 wire rack supplied, the enamel trays are too narrow to slide into the oven and have to sit on the wire rack giving you only 1 cooking shelfSimilar opinion? Not hot enough.
After my Breville oven blew up and having owned the previous version of the bake and grill and loving it I opted to purchase this new (what I thought was an) upgrade of the old pizza bake and grill. The first time I used it I noticed that food that used to cook in my other oven in 30 minutes was taking well over an hour.
I consulted the instruction booklet once again and attempted a different dish. Once again the food came out not cooked until I finally pushed the temperature dial up to well over 210 degrees (should have been cooking at 180...Read more
). The 3rd time I added an oven thermometre only to find that my oven is actually 30 degrees colder than the dial states it is, rendering it useless for anything that needs an actual high temperature to cook. I have the receipt and am hoping that where I purchased it from will offer me a refund. I do not wish to have it replaced. It's brandname. It didn't cook at all.Similar opinion? I cannot recommend - very disappointed these days with Sunbeam.
Being a long time Sumbeam consumer I automatically selected Sunbeam over any other, I have had Sunbeam products all my life, my parents always had Sunbeam...but not now. The last 5 years have seen to many recently bought Sunbeam products fail.
I have had 2 Sunbeam Bake and Grill...the first was the convection 17L model with stainless steel casing which lasted about 2 years, fan was noisy but did a good job until it didn't. I replaced it with the 19L model and discovered when I arrived home that while it looked the same it was a cheap and...Read more
nasty illusion...although it was at the same price point. Cheap painted case which rusted, not convection, oven rack broke at weld. I thought I had just bought an updated model. I use the oven once maybe twice a week. I was disappointed when I had to replace the first oven at 24 months and now am annoyed that i have only got 16 months from its replacement. Bought on Brand name...I was disappointed I fell for their marketing ploy by buying an inferior product at same price point of the oven I was replacing. Better off buying a higher quality product as it will work out cheaper in the mid to long term. Did the job while it lasted. Cheap and Nasty. Short length of service. Cannot possibly recommend to any one unless you only want it for a very short time.Similar opinion? Write a review on ieatwords.com.au!

Hi how do you tighten the front door handle because the screw is behind the glass door

Contact Sunbeam directly - it shouldn't be an issue in the first place, in my opinion. No problem with mine but it is new.

Hi just unpacked new Sunbeam BT5350 bench top oven and noticed gap on left hand side of the door i.e. door doesn't close snugly. This will result in significant heat loss. Is this a fault in manufacturing and should I return unit to the store?
