Fantastic
I bought this because of the good reviews. It is so easy to use. I use this to steam my kids bed because my boys are allergic. Also my client has bed bugs problem. When I accidentally bring those bugs to my home ( I hope not) I use this steamer to treat bugs.

Good steamer, a tad heavy
It works well, my only issue with it is that its quite heavy, especially when the water tank is full, so you quickly get tired of holding it. Unless you are planning to steam a few garments, it's better to put just enough water for one piece, that makes it easier.

GOOD but heavy
The steamer was bought yesterday from good guys ( australia- oxley). For people like me who have done their research and go off of reviews etc this works out to live upto the hype.
However, i'm a small human and after one use- with one flimsy light polyester/cotton top my hand became tired of steaming the garment- The unit is just too bulky and with a full tank of water- your palms begin to ache.
The job however was done perfectly - wrinkle free top in a minute
the cord is long and the attachments make it good value for money. The pressure of ...Read more
the steam is great- I work in retail and use a professional steamer that blurts out similar puffs of steam. The head of the steamer/or steam plate is large but this means for delicate tops- small tops and for collars of shirts- the bulk of the steam isn't hitting the exact place you intend to steam- and also multiple do overs will be needed to get into the pockets etc. but most handheld steamers are similar in terms of bulk surface area and thus are suitable for steaming larger garments. If you're not planning to do more than two tops i would recommend this item.

Amazing timesaver to get you out the door even quicker in the morning!
It’s never any fun getting ready of a morning and realising that the shirt you’re wanting to wear is still in the washing basket and in dire need of an iron. Who has time to get out their ironing board and iron when they needed to be out the door 10 minutes ago.
The handheld steamer has certainly made mornings like this a thing of my past.
I have been using the steamer for a couple of months now. Some of the things that I find great about the appliance are that you don’t need an ironing board, the water storage container is large (300ml, wh...Read more
ich means that you don’t need to refill the jug every time you need to use it) and there are so many attachment options which is really useful for different materials. For those who have not used a steamer before it can certainly take some time to get used to. I've use it for everything from a simple t-shirts, cotton shorts, work trousers, denim skirts and linen jump suits.Purchased in October 2021.

I have not switched on my iron since...
Since I bought this I have not put up the ironing board. I have found a suction hook on the glass laundry door works well to place a hanger with my mens work shirt on it. Discovering it works better on some shirts I now wear these shirts more! Less than a minute to warm up, pumps out plenty of steam on the high setting and, once you get the technique going, you can do collars as well. Doing a shirt a day the tank lasts well over a week.

Simple to use and the results are instantaneous
Much easier than ironing if doing t-shirts, dresses etc. Just wave it across the fabric a few times and creases disappear quickly. Be careful the steam is hot and there is a risk of burning.

Super easy to set up and pack away!
This handheld steamer is so much easier to use than the garment steamer we have. The handheld steamer does just as good a job of getting creases out - great result after we steamed heavy cotton shirts and jeans.

Super Fast! Super Convenient!
I live with 5 house mates and space is a huge factor! We've already gotten rid of our iron and ironing board! It's Incredibly fast to heat up! Was sceptical at first whether it will remove the wrinkles, but I can't fault it!

Perfect for lazy ironers
This is a great product if you're a lazy ironer. There are so many pieces of clothing I haven't worn in years because I hate ironing and just don't do it. Keeping the hand held steamer in my bedroom and the ease and speed at which it heats up is life changing and has revived my wardrobe.

Easy to use and a real time saver
This light hand-held steamer is great for a quick alternative to the trusty old iron & ironing board. It heats up quite quickly (less than a minute) and the 4 add-on pieces offer a range of alternative uses including neat creasing for shirt sleeves and trousers. The water capacity allows for around 30-45 mins non-stop use. Great for light materials, slightly longer steaming time required for firmer fabrics. I would suggest this steamer is a great compliment to your current iron. I've been using now for a week and I know that my use of the steamer will certainly increase as I get more familiar with it's use.

Terrific handheld steamer
I must admit, I was a bit sceptical of this product at first, but after using it the first time - I was really impressed. It was fast to heat up and use, which is great as I don’t have much spare time in the morning.
I have a whole bunch of work blouses/tops that I never wear because they need an iron, but never quite get around to bringing out the iron and ironing board – and this steamer is perfect for them. It only takes around 60 seconds to steam, and then they are ready to wear. Now all of these tops are back on my work clothing rotation...Read more
again! And I love how compact & lightweight it is, so I can easily store away in the cupboard when not in use. I did steam one of my husband’s business shirts (even though I knew it probably wouldn’t work as well as the items that I have in my wardrobe) and it actually did a really good job!! It removed the majority of the large wrinkles and creases, but a few smaller ones remained on the cuffs and collar. I didn’t switch the accessory stand across to the ‘heavier fabric’ nozzle though, so I’m going to try this again which I think will give an even better result.1 comment

Who knew that making my clothes crease-free could be fun!?
I've only been using the Sunbeam steamer for just over a week and am already loving it! So easy to use and heats up quickly, making it perfect for when I'm rushing to get ready in the morning, and not needing to use an ironing board has been life changing! Plus, I've actually been finding it fun to wrinkle out my clothes with this steamer!
I travel a lot for work, so I can already tell this is going to be great to take along for when I need to quickly iron out my clothes, particularly given its compact design.
If you hate ironing like me, you'll love this steamer - highly recommend!

Genuine life (and reputation) saver
Really stoked with this. Both my boyfriend and I never have the the time do a full iron so we've been desperate for something that works. We had a different kind previously (different brand) but found it gave up after the second/third use and would only steam for max 5 seconds which was incredibly frustrating.
Sunbeam's one has got a great sized water tank - I feel like it is actually working when I use it, and haven't struggled to get those stubborn creases out of clothes.
My only suggestion would be to make use of the accessories - you get a few provided and they definitely make a difference. Stoked to finally look like I've got my life sorted when I leave the house, and not a crinkled mess!

Quick, effective and easy to use
After using this a few times I've found it easy to use and it does a great job. I've found it naturally works well with lighter clothing but also works well across thicker cotton too. The extra-wide feature is really effective and makes the whole thing even quicker. Really enjoyed using it and would definitely recommend.

Throw away your ironing board and buy this
This product is so light and easy that I am blown away. It was ready to go in a fraction of the time of other steamers I've used, and it was so light- even when it was full of water. I hate ironing, but with this, I finished a pile of shirts before I had time to start complaining. Can't recommend highly enough, its a game changer.

Will throw out my current iron and iron board!
Pros: This product has saved my life on how convenient and fast it is to iron my clothes. No ironing board needed. Water tank is super large and can last for the whole working week. Preheating speed is super fast, plugged in and it is good to go in 10-15 sec (on High mode). Attachments are easy to put on and off.
Cons: Noticed a bit of hot water leaking out sometimes if I leave the steamer on High mode for long time.

Steamer is perfect to grab as you need it
Sunbeam Power Steam Handheld Garment Steamer SG1000
Great little handheld steamer, quick and light to hold, with four easy to use attachments, and a low and high switch. The steamer started up quickly (between 24 – 30 seconds) which is great when in a hurry. I had a steam station iron, but it was time consuming to setup with the ironing board for 1 or 2 items in the morning. The steamer is perfect to grab as you need it.
The attachment are easy to remove and replace such as a steam handle, a fabric brush great for harder fabrics, a lint ...Read more
pad diffuser which is excellent for pet hair, but the pièce de résistance is the creaser attachment, this is great for shirt sleeves. I found the steamer works well on all fabrics, from a silky top through to my beloved velvet jacket. Took me a few attempts at getting use to the steamer, but now its full steam ahead!Purchased in September 2021 at JB Hi-Fi for $79.00.

So happy to use this instead of the iron
Got this hand steamer last week. I'm really happy with it as it's lightweight, the water lasts for a long time, the steam heats up quickly and having the hold down function on the button means you can just focus on the garment.
I used it on hanging dresses (different fabrics - stretch and linen) vertically and the creases all came out quite well, I even tried it horizontally and no drips which was great.
My one suggestion would be to have a bag for all the attachments, and maybe a sticker on them to remind me what they are for - otherwise I'll just end up not using them. But, I'm thinking I'll just be using this from now and the iron can stay in the cupboard!

So simple to use
I got my steamer just last week and couldn't believe how easy it was to use. Really straight-forward setup and made a big difference. Best bit was no ironing board - what a dream. I also was surprised by the different attachments and how effective they were. Initially I thought they would sit unused in a cupboard, but after giving them all a go, the difference they made was impressive. My favourite was the crease attachment for sleeves and trousers. The water tank was extremely large and lasted me around 30 mins of use without needing refilling...Read more
. I would highlight that it did struggle to get the creases out of some of the more heavily creased shirts I used it on. So I don't think it would entirely replace my iron, but impressive none the less!Purchased in September 2021.

Questions & Answers
Dg9879asked
Would this work well for sheets? I would hang them on the clothesline outside to to them. But if it was raining, could I lay them on the wooden floor in my living room to do it?
1 answer
I use it to remove wrinkles from table cloths after getting them from the linen press. I hold them up and have someone run the steamer across the fold marks. Nice, neat, wrinkle-free cloth then goes straight on the table! Sheets should work equally well.

Could the steamer be used on curtains?
4 answers
Hi Peter! I'm sure it could, I don't have curtains but the steamer is portable so would be perfect for this. Maybe just check your curtain care instructions.
Cheers!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Like Tania I have not tried on curtains yet. It is light, easy to hold for extended periods and can operate wherever there is a powerpoint so ideal in that respect.
There are four attachments and I would recommend using the lint/diffuser pad for flowing or straight curtains and the creaser for pleated curtains.
