Works Very Well
A really great sized large pan! Heats up very fast and does Stir Fry really well. My only concern is that I can already see marks in the Wok Pan only after a few uses. I don't know what they are and they will not come off. I hope the pan will last but I fear it may not from all the comments I have read here.

Great Unit but not durable
I have had mine for a few years now. It was supposed to have a tough non stick surface. But the surface degraded fairly quickly despite using the appropriate utensils. I really like the unit and had also bought a small electric skillet with the same coating. Tossed the skillet years ago. Really like how these units perform, but will not buy again due to the poor quality surface.
If Sunbeam lift the quality of the teflon surface I will but again. But as is, I will not buy again despite otherwise terrific performance as a versatile cooker.

Great Cooking but Teflon Let down!
I have bought 5 of these woks now, the Teflon only last between 6 to 8 months max. Why did i buy so many you ask? The cooking in this wok is great but the Teflon quickly wears out and starts to flake off, i have always used typically non-stick plastic or wooden utensils on this product as instructed but this hasn't helped. Also there is also no way to keep items warm in this product without it burning the bottom of the food even on the lowest setting. I unfortunately will not be buying this product again, throwing away an electrical item within...Read more
this period seems insane, especially five of them, not to mention the unit still is working fine but not being able to use anymore because of the Teflon issue. I will now have to resort to another brand and disappointed.1 comment

great to cook with BUT...
Great wok to cook with, temperature control excellent and never burnt food. But Teflon came off after only 6 months use (used almost every 2nd day) and 2nd one got under warranty exactly the same thing!!! Only used wooden or plastic utensils and gentle cleaning so what gives sunbeam??? If they fixed the Teflon issue I would use one of these for almost everything.

A good compromise
Not as good as gas but a very good electric choice. A bit clunky when cooking as you can't realistically move the wok around, but the sides stay hot and the food cooks well. It does what it advertises extremely well.

A Good Wok
Whilst no electric device can equal gas for quick temperature control this wok goes very close.
I use it every week and my last dish of chillie crab got a rave revue. I'm more than happy with this model Sunbeam wok which is superior to the last model.

Fabulous
Yes, this wok takes up a lot of bench space but mine stays out all the time as I use it so much. I have found most Sunbeam products have sensitive heating systems in that the temperature goes up and down. I Love this for its size, ease of use and the fact that it is so versatile. I love fried rice cooked in this wok!

Fantastic tool, but...
I just love this wok. Use mainly for soups, slow cooking bolognaise, etc. rather than stir fries. But, the surface coating has deteriorated so badly I will have to throw the wok away because it is no longer safe to use. Great pity, because there's nothing else wrong with it.
Wonderful utensil, often used instead of cooking in oven.
Surface coating deteriorated so badly, the wok is unusable.

Excellent Product, very durable
The wok is very durable, you can even use metal spatula on the surface. It’s very easy to clean and you can even put it into dishwasher. I love it, the best electric wok that I have even had. Been using a few different brand before but end up the non-stick coat come off (and the food get burn so easily even using a lot oil ). And have to throw it away.
Durable
not the cheapest model in the market

Good
All in all it is a good wok but I am still yet to find one that is 'like gas cooking' as this one claims. There is no such thing in my opinion. I would buy again though. The price was good and it's been reliable.
Heats quickly, the glass lid is handy and it is large so it holds a lot. It also has many temperature settings though it is hard to keep a constant temperature.
A bit awkward and the base is getting harder and harder to reattach. It was sold to me as a non-scratch surface which is incorrect but I am not sure if that was just because I got given wrong information by the salesperson.

A piece of utter rubbish
It either boils flat out with food catching or it is sound asleep forgetting what it is supposed to do. The temperature is impossible to regulate. It cannot be set to a simmer.
Unreliable, becoming increasingly difficult to detach the base from the wok, "non-stick" surface not really non-stick when it continues to boil flat out.

Good
The wok does a great job of stir fries with adjustable settings on the dial. It is great for cooking large meals and the glass lid also lets you keep an eye on the food. Because of it's large size it takes up a lot of space in the cupboard and it is also a bit difficult to clean, again because the large size of it doesn't fit into the sink. Great if you cook up large stir fry meals but you would need to use it often to justify the storage space.
large size, glass lid, good for stir frys
hard to store, awkward to clean

Excellent
I use this wok for my Asian stir fry and steam boat. Very fast to heat, large capacity, works very 'professional'. The heat control have quite lot of settings which is useful when I cook some particular chinese dish. because of its teflon coating, you don't need to use too much oil to prevent food from stick to the wok. this makes it very easy to make frid rice, fried eggs etc. I like it!
This wok works almost the same as gas cooking.
A bit heavy to hold (for female)when try to get the dish out without detach the base first. and cleaning it proper without detach the base from the wok.

Good
I love using this wok as you can throw the food around without it tipping over the edge beacuse of its large capacity. The temperature is a bit tempermental, so meat sizzles, then the heat seems to disappear and I have to turn up the dial, but that could be a fault with my wok. Bowl section detaches so you can easiely clean it, the whole wok is heavy but managable. Great alternative for people who have electric stovetops.
Large size wok
Temperature goes up and down on its own accord, which effects the cooking, but this could be a fault with only mine.

Why has the Sunbeam Professional Wok stopped heating, The electrical cord and plug still works but the wok stays cold. Has my wok DIED....can it be revived??? Jim

Sounds like it died. Take it back to the stote for a refund.
Sounds like the heating element has failed. The heater control unit and lead should be checked by a competent person or electrican. If that is okay, the unit has died. And needs to be replaced.
depends how old it is under 12 months it's warranted, after that cheaper to replace,i love mine and would gladly buy another if it failed.LOVE IT

I purchased this wok last weekend however the non-stick surface is covered in scratches already after only two uses. I used a plastic spatula for cooking but washed it gently with a soft dish brush. Is a dish brush non appropriate for cleaning the non-stick surface? A non-stick Sunbeam Wok that I had years ago seemed to be a lot tougher than this one.

A bit disappointing to have the surface of such a poor quality.
Surprising that it only lasted such a short time. Doesn't sound like the owner was at fault. I would imagine that it may have been faulty out of the book.
But I have stopped buying Sunbean frypans ans Woks. they just don't last.
A bit arrogant on the part of Sunbeam to treat their customers so poorly. I don't think this is an accident. Just company policy in my opinion.
Especially as the Sunbeam product are priced quite high.

Hi! We recently replaced a sunbeam wok with a sunbeam ww7500d and really happy with it except for detaching the base. The thumb screw has little to no tension and the base is so hard to get off. We often spend a good 3-4 minutes trying to detach. The old one never gave one issue but the new one is a constant battle. What can we do about it?
