Good, but I don't love it
Comes with a wire mesh basket and instructions say you can't use filter papers with it. This is disappointing because it makes it difficult and time consuming to clean out, but you don't have the ongoing expense of papers. Still I would have prefered paper for easy clean up! Also the time on the clock needs to be set every single time, unless you leave the power on continually. Would be good if there was a battery backup to maintain the time when you turn the machine on again. Having said that the machine does work well and is easy to use.

Just How i like It
I prefer American style drip coffee which is bad luck because I live Melbourne, the home of espresso, lattes and macchiatos. Everything except regular drip coffee.
The Sunbeam drip filter is an excellent machine and delivers exactly what I want. Operation is so easy. Its got a wire coffee basket instead of needing paper filters. You fill it with coffee, check the water and hit the switch. That's it.
Looks great in the kitchen with its modern stainless steel design. Very happy wit it.

Simple but great little coffee machine!
Purchased it 3 years ago and still happy with it! I had more complicated coffee in the past and got sick of taking so long to make a few cups of coffee, especially when friends came around. But with this one I can make 10 cups of coffee so quickly and easily. The glass jug sits on a hot plate which keeps the coffee hot for 2 hours which is awesome! Easy to use and easy to clean!

Bought my second one
Previously had one of these that I bought in 2012, it lasted until last year after daily use, before the lights went out on the buttons and made it tricky to set up the timer system. This is a cheap and reliable way to have a freshly brewed cup of coffee every morning. You can set it the night before to brew at a particular time in the morning.
Over time the pipes can get blocked by mineral deposits, but running vinegar through a cycle every year or two clears that up.

Decent coffee machine, but may break down
Purchased this coffee machine just a few months ago and used it daily until it, unfortunately, stopped working last week. Turned out the heating element was defective. Retailer happily replaced the unit though (machine has a 1 year guarantee), so we are now back to enjoying the coffee it produces. Makes a pretty decent cup of coffee, although the plastic filter does not work as well as a paper filter. The machine is pretty much no frills, keeps the coffee warm for about an hour or two, and is easy to clean. Can recommend this - at its current price point of about $50-$60 this is a very decent coffee machine.

Cheap coffee machine that does the job
Not a bad machine. It is simple to use and gets the job done. Obviously more expensive machines will do a better job but the only real complaint would be the machine only heats the coffee for two hours and then goes cold. Would have been better if it kept the pot hot for a few more hours.

Good coffee
Bought the coffee machine during the xmas sale for $55. Love the coffee, the auto feature to set the machine to make coffee at a certain time and how easy it is to use. Also the stainless stell fits in perfectly with all my other appliances. Yes the clock light is bright and it flashes when programmed but it doesn't bother us at it is in our kitchen. Two things I don't like about the machine is, the water indicator is at the back on the right hand side and its hard to see and reach unless you move the machine every time. The main reason for onl...Read more
y four stars rather than five is, the slight coffee ground residue in my coffee. The last mouthful has like a fine sandy like residue in it. Not sure if it is the brand coffee we use (Vittoria coffee ground) We are now using filter paper (even though not recommended) and there is no more residue so I'm assume the removable filter is not fine enough. All in all a brilliant little machine that makes good coffeeSimilar opinion? Write a review on ieatwords.com.au!

Good coffee.
Happy with the taste of th coffee it produces. Incredibly simple to use. Keeps coffee on the burner warm. Cleaning process is quite easy as it just opens at the top allowing you to easily pop out everything that needs cleaning. Only nitpick is that the coffee isn't as hot as other coffee machines.

Very good - sort of!
We really enjoyed our machine with coffee, Coffee tasted excellent. It's very easy to clean and looks good in our kitchen.but were disappointed this Sunbeam product lasted less than 2 years. Coffee tasted excellent. On the other hand, Harvey Norman had it on sale for just $46, so again we got one. Hope this one lasts longer.

MY BEST COFFEE
This is my second coffee maker. Unfortunately they seem to have a short life span but I will be buying another one if I can find it. To me it makes the kind of coffee the way I like it and can be programmed. I am not attuned to pods or any of the new fangled espresso machines and they are more of a problem to keep clean. The only other way is the French Press or we know it as a plunger. This latest one failed because water got into the wrong area and burnt out I guess.

Could not live without this coffee machine!
Love this machine!
It gets used daily in our house.
Especially my shift working husband. He will set the timer on it and have it ready to go just before he leaves for work in the middle of the night.
So easy to use!
The taste is great. Pair it with a milk frother and it tastes just like coffee shop coffee!
We had an issue with the pot and called sunbeam and their customer service was fantastic!

Love it
Drip filters are coming back into fashion....this one does exactly what it claims. For those who find the coffee is not hot enough....this is a failing of most coffee machines...whether expensive espresso or mid range pod...I know cos I have them. I warm the pot first by putting hor water in it before brewing...you can warm your cup too...or just put it in the microwave for10 seconds. But try making coffee for a house full of guests with an espresso machine...this little filter machine makes a huge carafe full in no time...and it tastes great. ...Read more
Also great for making a big bottle of iced coffee in summer. Cleaning is a breeze...just tip out the coffee grounds from the extra filter on top of the stainless filter..yup it has two filters....rinse and it’s done...find a coffee you like and you will love the brew. For coffee experts who swear by only espresso i guess it’s not the machine for you...tho I actually prefer the taste...I use my expensive espresso machine mainly for frothing milk. The light is bright yes.. but it doesn’t annoy me...it’s in the kitchen. I love this coffee machine.Similar opinion? Write a review on ieatwords.com.au!

Very happy with this product
I bought the Sunbeam yesterday, to replace a 5-year-old Breville C/MKR aroma style electronic coffee maker.
The Sunbeam has better design features than the machine it replaced.
Benefits of the Sunbeam:
- The glass carafe has a deeper, curved pouring lip, which allows water to be decanted into the machine without spillage, and coffee to be decanted at a reasonable flow rate without spillage.
- The coffee taste is smoother and much less bitter than that made by the old Breville. The filter basket seems to be finer so perhaps this and the water temperature contribute to a more pleasing result.
- The Sunbeam has a very bright, very legible LCD display.
- Coffee doesn't drip onto the hot plate when you remove the carafe.

Terrible Purchased
This machine looks good, easy to clean, but fails in delivering a hot cup of coffee, also coffee comes out weak, even if you use more coffee, i have had it for 2 days and looking for another overseas, as i found there are only 2 brands all up
NOT RECOMMENDED.

Great aroma to wake up to
This machine looks great. Makes a good cup depending on your coffee tastes. Easy and simple to use. Easy to program. No complaints. Durable functional and sleek. Makes a pot really quickly. Great to wake up in the morning to the smell of fresh brewed coffee. Compares well to the breville as my friend has one.

Taking it back! So disappointed with new design. Preferred my old hourglass one...
After years of faithful daily service my previous sunbeam broke so I replaced it with this. Can't use filter papers, superbright clock, auto setting flashes all night. There wasn't even a mesh basket in the box! I'll try the Breville or Gumtree. I Hope Sunbeam designers read this. Not happy...

This is my favorite coffee maker!
This is my second Sunbeam drip filter coffee maker in this series. I was disappointed to find out when shopping for a new coffee machine that drip filters are being discontinued. This particular model makes coffee just how I like it. It looks good and is easy to clean. The only downsides with my new machine are that it is rather noisy while the coffee is brewing and the light behind the clock is too bright. Other than that, I would highly recommend it to anyone who likes drip filter coffee.

It's a good morning, every morning
I love this thing! You can set a timer so that your coffee is hot and brewed when you wake up, but I just make it every morning, it only takes a few minutes. Coffee tastes great and the pot stays warm for 2 hours which is super convenient. I also find it easy to clean. Still going strong after 12 months solid use

Need a part
Only had my machine a couple of months and the spring fell out of the outer filter basket holder and can't get it to stay in. Does anyone know where I can purchase a new holder? Really miss the smell of the fresh coffee in the morning so want to replace part

Easy, quick coffee for waking up
Coffee takes a few minutes but is fine if I add more coffee ground than it says in manual. Experiment with amount and grinding.
It's not as good as espresso/pod, but a good drip if you find your preferred amount.
Use it first thing in the morning. Never on automatic! It is a weird blinking strobe light if left on automatic! Really annoying!
Have started to unplug it over night due to excessive bright light even when not on automatic. Drove us crazy.
Would prefer a non plastic filter. Will look for one. However, manual says not to use any ...Read more

My coffee machine seems to be taking an extraordinary long time to brew - it never did in the past. Instead of a light/steady stream flowing into the carafe, it is now just drips one drop at a time - took 15 mins to brew up to the 4 cup mark (??) - also the coffee tastes 'burnt' - have had the unit for over 3 years now and never had a problem, until this week. Have cleaned the unit by running through a 'cycle' with just water/lemon juice in an attempt to clean the water hose and spout - same problem occurred this morning. Wondering if the spring from the filter holder (that the carafe pushes up when placed on the hot plate) may be worn out and not opening up fully when I place the carafe in - ???? - any suggestions (or has the unit just come to the end of its days?).
Thank you

That is way long for a brew especially in the morning. I would try removing the valve assembly that allows the coffee to drip into the pot and give that some close attention. Be very careful not to lose any parts and take note of how it comes apart. Take photos as you go. The silicone rubber seal you can see when you remove the filter basket and look inside, is fragile so be careful cleaning it. These parts can not be bought on their own, you have to buy the 2 baskets and valve as a unit (the Brew Group I think it called), which is about $30. Thoroughly clean all parts and test the spring action when reassembled. It should have about 12 mm of stroke.
Hope this works

Thanks so much for your suggestion, Lance - will give it a try.

It claims to be a 12 cup machine, but it's only 6 Aussie cup size! I haven't tried a single aussie size cup but don't see why not.
Customer CareSunbeam
Hello Andrev.
You can but you will have to manually start and stop the machine because our auto is set to a minimum of two cups.
To brew coffee in a coffee maker, first fill the reservoir with water. Use about 180 mL of water for every cup of coffee you want to make. Next, put a filter in the basket located under the lid of the coffee maker. Measure 1-2 tablespoons of coffee grounds per cup of coffee into the filter, depending on how strong you like your coffee.
Press the ON/AUTO/OFF button once. Water will start to drip through into the carafe.
Once all the water has dripped through and the water tank is empty, press the ON/AUTO/OFF button twice. This will turn the appliance off.
Absolutley. There's a measuring guide on the side of the water tank that will let you put in your own amount of water. Just need to adjust your coffee amount accordingly too. As mentioned above, 2 cup minimum.

I would like to know why my coffee tastes metallic and is luke warm? My machine is new, I followed all the initial instructions and ran just water through the system a couple of times and still the coffee tastes terrible. I have even used different brands of coffee and it still tastes metallic. Im so disappointed!

Likely a faulty machine. Best to return.
