Great steamer, well designed
Replaced a faithful Kambrook steamer with this product. The Kambrook steamer still worked even though all the numbers on the timer had worn off, so I took it to work to use there.
The baskets are very well designed and you can see the food clearly in the middle. The ability to refill without removing them is also great. They have adequate ventilation so you get less surface area for parts sticking to the bottom, and don't warp under steam like my older steamer did. All in all it's made me utilise this mode of cooking more than previously. Th...Read more
e drip catcher is also better designed than my previous steamer so that little or no contaminated water gets into the steaming reservoir below, which leads to a mouldy mess if you should happen to forget to empty it for a few days. Very minor caveats - there always has to be something, right?. Since you store the bowls nestled in reverse order, they won't store nicely on top of the steamer. Not a huge problem as it tends to reside on my bench top and not get put away. Also the "zero" on the timer dial is a bit off. You always need to set it for a few minutes more than it says on the dial. Could just be the particular unit I picked up - for me not worth exchanging it over, especially as I ordered over the internet.1 comment

Are parts/bowls dishwasher safe?

Hi Lou,
Sunbeam Do not recommend washing in an automatic dishwasher as the hot water temperatures and harsh detergents may ultimately warp and scratch these parts. Also do not use abrasives, abrasive cleaners or alkaline cleaning agents when cleaning as these may scratch or damage the unit.
Wipe out the interior of the steamer base with a warm, damp cloth or a small brush.
Kindest Regards
Sunbeam
