Terrible filtration system
Bought it new few days ago. The tap doesn’t hold water and leeks constantly. Some water also comes out from the back where filter is. Also water smells and taste horrible. Going back for a refund.
Purchased in December 2021 at Harvey Norman Appliances Physical Store for $139.00.

Like everyone else, it leaked
the whole container of water leaked out overnight soaking the bench and kitchen cabinets. I’ll have to find an alternative. No help from sunbeam no repairs or spare parts available.
Purchased in March 2021 at Harvey Norman for $300.00.

Sunbeam WF 0700 water filter
Purchased a replacement water filter, installed it as normal but the water filtered was disgusting ... I flushed it a dozen times with no change. this happened about 12 months ago as well with another cartridge..... a friend gave me one and it was ok. I’ve had the filter jug for 10 years or so .... I think it’s time for a new system ...

Absolutely disgusting.
Purchased this product yesterday. Like others followed the manual instructions. Water tastes like plastic and chemicals. Can't get rid of taste. Flushed it about 12 times It's going back. Don't drink the water out of it.
Had one of their old style ones, no problems.
Also water leaks out. Put a container under it so it didn't go everywhere.

Plastic and rubbery taste
Only purchased the Sunbeam Ambient purifier today and did everything in the manual. The water tasted of plastic so thought it was my fault and ran it through again. Ugh still tasted of plastic. Now I've read some reviews I see that taste doesn't go. No good for me. So I will have to go and buy bottled water again until I get it sorted.

Chemical chlorine plastic rubber taste
Purchased from Harvey Norman flushed it as per instructions approx 20 times. The taste is horrendous the whole family is disappointed. Its like drinking swimming pool water! I have purchased many filters before with no taste issues. It will be going back. Would not buy another Sunbeam water filter or recommend.

Valve got clogged with algae now drips
This worked for about four years then a few weeks ago algae clumps from inside the pipes came out the tap like something alive blackish and wriggly, with the water. I think, some got stuck in the valve on the way out and is now causing the valve to drip as it has never closed properly since.
Does anybody know the cure for algae in plastic pipes inside a container which is not opaque?
I liked it except for it having a clear water container which lets sunlight make algae which collects on the insides of the tank and has to be cleaned off regu...Read more
larly. It would be better with just a water-level indicator area and instructions to regularly clean the inside surfaces --- perhaps they wouldn't get algae if the sunlight didn't get in? I'll buy another tomorrow because I have four or five filters left and they are good value at about $16 or whatever. Anyway, the water comes out tasting better than it went in. We pre-filter the water with resin-carbon filter jugs because one filter on its own isn't enough to change the taste of "drinking" water (out of the tap) which has lots of ground water in it; although nowadays, water from the tap tastes more like non-salted sea water with various levels of contamination before getting into the desalination plants (Perth Western Australia). I suppose a dollar a week for filters and $30 a year is good value for high quality water; but seems a shame that something is designed to have to be replaced because of avoidable contingencies; while it otherwise would be working perfectly. Early versions of this model filter broke almost instantly or just after the 1-year warranty ran out; then the final replacement worked for many years excellently; shame it's impossible to fix --- can't get into it. One of my filters might be old or a slightly different model. There are two sizes of little "O" rings on the filters. The last filter I put in has a pair of the slightly smaller "O" rings; it dribbles all over the table; if it does it in the new filter I'll swap the "O" rings for bigger ones of another filter.1 comment

t UV so what light did get through the anti-heat/anti-UV window coating (for the short time it didn't get blocked by trees West of the filter) supported algae; so that what grew in the pipes etc happened and after four years despite the admonitions in the instructions about avoiding "direct sunlight" (which I did). The filter tap valve might have failed for some other reason than algae; I don't know. Today I picked up the replacement. $97 which puts it below qualifying for an extra four/whatever years replacement/fix/money-back warranty-insurance thing. I'm happy because I wouldn't want to knowingly get into a situation where I could have lots of replacements knowing the cause of the trouble is what I think it is (the sunlight causing algae which jams the tap) and if it's something else the purifier has been good value anyway. The new one has a new filter in it which is worth... say $16/$20/? and the warranty is 2 years.Similar opinion? Write a review on ieatwords.com.au!

Terrible rubber/ plastic taste
We have owned Sunbeam water purifiers for years. This latest, which we have had for 3 weeks, is very disappointing. After flushing as instructed (and more) the water tastes and smells of plastic/ rubber. I don't want to waste money on a new filter because I think it's the container. The appliance even smells when empty! Will be returning to Harvey Norman for refund.

Didn't Last 6 months
Ours died less than 6 mths old. Pump stopped pumping. Rang Sunbeam and went thru the usage, filter changes etc, took back to purchase point for store credit and purchased another brand. New one does not have a pump, cost is double this one, but better seem to be better value with much less working parts to break.

Too much water dripping from tap
We have had the sunbeam ambient water filter for less than 2 weeks and the tap is dripping water abundantly, I hadn't noticed until last night when I moved it and found water sitting under a board it was on and then I looked at the tap and saw that it was dripping.
I placed a cup underneath over night and it is nearly full this morning, not sure about returning it as I purchased from a online store. Very disappointed as other family members have this product, that's why I purchased it and they don't have this problem
Water tastes great
It's dripping water from tap

Filters water well - Tap release noisy - Tap drips when not used
Initial set up was a little frustrating - flushing several litres through system till water was charcoal particle-free. Motorised tap is a little unnecessarily noisy - sounds like a blender! After first day we noticed tap was leaking about a glass of water every couple of hours - drip, drip, drip! Can you change the washers? Water was well filtered and tasty.
Water was clean and tasty
Noisy motor for tap; Tap leaks.

I bought this Sunbeam WF7400 filter over two years ago from Harvey Norman. I changed the filter every six months. However, it has broken down completely recently - water stopped running although the filter was replaced two months ago. What has gone wrong? What can be done? Thank you. Van Le

Simple answer is it's dead, these have a very short life span as it turns out. Our solution was to get an Aquaport filter, we only use it as a filter, that is we don't use the chiller function, so has a zero carbon foot print, we just fill our bottles and bung 'em in the fridge over night.

I have a brand new water filter given to me as a present. Within hours of plugging it in for use it is dripping from the spout to the extent that it flooded the bench top. Have followed the manufacturers instructions to the letter inot use age. What can be done ???
