Hi Bozena Masliczek,
From my personal experience and what I've read about your condition, Supergreen powder might assist you with some of the symptoms of Cervical Spinal Stenosis (such as pain and swelling), however, I have Ankylosing Spondylitis which is a degenerative bone disease that mainly affects the vertebrate in the upper section of my spine; my symptoms include fusing of the vertebrate. I take Supergreen powder blended with fruit juice every second day and have found that, when included with my daily exercises, it helps to promote muscle development including my neck muscles which in-turn support my neck and this alleviates the symptoms associated with my condition. Hope this info helps.
Kind regards,
Craig.

How does this product compare to Elle Macphersons super green elixir??

Hi Lynne,
Well having read a lot about Elle's product I went in search of a similar product that is more readily available (in store as opposed to mail order) and I originally settled on the Synergy Natural Super Greens Premium. Based on what I've read about both products, they're similar but Elle's product has some additional ingredients such as Shitake Mushrooms and Tumeric. Since I wrote this review I've continued to look at other similar products and have found one that I think is better than both the Synergy product and Elle's product; this other product has far more wholefood components and consequently far more nutrients and I think it tastes better than the Synergy product; it's available from Chemist Warehouse and is called Healthy Care Super Greens and it's much better value (200g Synergy for $25 compared to 150g (refill) of Elle's Super Elixir Greens for $85.00 compared to '600g' Healthy Care Super Greens for about $45.00). I compared the contents of Elle's Super Elixir Greens and Healthy Care Super Greens and I honestly think that the Healthy Care product is better; it has far more wholefood ingredients than Elle's product but it doesn't have Tumeric (which Elle's powder does); I just bought a 140g container of Tumeric Powder from Coles for about $5 and add a heaped teaspoon (apparently you can't overdose on it) of that when I make my smoothie using the Healthy Care product. So in conclusion to my answer (lol), rather than endorsing the Synergy product, I'd now recommend the Healthy Care Super Greens powder from Chemist Warehouse (with the addition of Tumeric powder to assist with reducing inflammation and boosting our immune systems). Just go to Chemist Warehouse and take a look at the nutritional table on the container of Healthy Care Super Greens; it's immediately impressive and if you buy it and compare it online to the nutritional content of Elle's Super Elixir Greens you'll probably see what I see. ;-)

The short answer is 'no'. The ingredients (wholefoods - Chlorella, Spirulina, Barley Grass and Wheat Grass) are dried then converted to a powder.

Is the Synergy premium super green a protiene drink?

You could say that but in reality, due to the abundance of other nutrients it contains, it seems to be so much more than just a protein drink. On the company website, I read that of the 4 components that make up this product, 3 of them contain a lot of protein. The 3 are 'Wheatgrass', 'Spirulina' and 'Chlorella' . This is what I read: (1) The Spirulina powder component - Protein - 60-70% of its weight. 300% more protein than fish, meat or poultry, with no cholesterol. (2) The Chlorella powder component is about 58% protein (including all the essential amino acids essential to supporting human life) and represents over three times the amount of protein available from beef. (3) The Wheatgrass powder component contains 24% protein (more than meat, fish, eggs or dairy) including 8 basic proteins required for proper body function. From what I read 'Barley Grass' powder is the only component that doesn't contain any protein.

Hello, what is the size of each supergreen pill? The website does not say. What is the standard dose in powder? And how many pills required to make a standard dose? Thanms

Hi, with the pills they don't state a dosage, that i could see, however I have been taking 4pills, 3 times daily, which have been well tolerated. I find the pills much easier to take than trying to have the powder in drinks. Good product with 200 per container, easier way to supplement green vegies. cheers

Hi, I am considering buying your product and have a few questions:
- What country is your chlorella and spirulina grown in? Your website only states a sub-tropical island in the Pacific Ocean, but not the country of origin. Is this a secret?
- What species is the chlorella, eg. is it Pyrenoidosa or A.vulgaris?
- What method do you use to crack the cell wall? You website says it is 'gently cracked' but doesn't specify if its via the pressure differential method, sound vibration, or some other method.

Thankyou.

Yes, I'd also like to know. Looks like two people have recently asked this questions and Synergy has remained silent. This makes me very suspicious. We just bought our first 200g of the certified organic, and like you, could not find the country of origin. Personally I find this unacceptable. Synergy needs to provide clear & transparent information on the country of origin of the spiralling, otherwise I'm this will be our first and last tub of the Synergy brand.

Dear Saffron,
I'm sorry to hear that you are suffering unpleasant symptoms since taking the Supergreens product. As this is a multi-ingredient supplement and the original condition of your health is unknown, it's impossible to give an exact answer.
My advice would be to lower your dosage to perhaps just one tablet a day for one week and increasing to two the following week and do on, until you match the recommended dosage on the label etc. A couple of the Algae based ingredients can be be quite potent and effective for cleansing bowel areas.. This may result in mild discomfort and a change in bowel habits, headaches, nausea and unpleasant stools. These symptoms are usually short lived and should begin to disappear after taking the product for about two weeks.
If your symptoms include difficulty in breathing, stop taking the product straight away and consult your doctor.
Should you decide to continue.. I expect that you'll begin to feel the benefits of taking Supergreens in a few weeks and you'll start to feel the best you have felt in years!
I wish you all the best in your future health :)
P.s. Some Supergreens ingredients are anti-inflammatory. I suspect that this is the reason you are feeling sore in your gums and should remain short lived. Again, without knowing your original Oral health status.. It is difficult to comment.

On the advice of my naturopath I started my super greens adding to my protein shake each morning on soy milk( just the small scoop in the container ) after a couple of days I started to get a bad headache which became quite debilitating after a few days, my sight was affected and my eyes very sore, felt like I had a temp. but didn't, cold compress across the eyes / forehead eased it, so have stopped it and symptoms are easing but taking a while.
could I have an allergic reaction to something?

Hello there.
I'm sorry to hear that you have been suffering a reaction from taking Supergreens. Without official allergy testing, it is impossible to comment on whether you have an allergy or not.
I would like to take this opportunity to mention that Blue Green Algaes and Chlorella Algaes are used commercially to clean waste water, by binding to heavy and toxic metals.
To get to the point, without writing an essay, a certain amount of detox effect may be expected from takingSynergy Supergreens. Any type of detox on the body may result in uncomfortable withdrawal reactions/symptoms. The severity of discomfort depends on how toxic an individual's bloodstream and fat stores may be. Moreover, any new dietary changes should be made with consideration to the individual making those changes and best made with the supervision of your GP.
I wish you well along your journey towards better health.

Thank you for your reply, my naturopath agrees with your answere, as it turns out I now have shingles and put the headaches, unwell feeling down to that, so have started my supergreens again !! string with a half teaspoon and working up .

When I was taking super greens I had a bout of shingles as well. I wonder whether this is part of the cleansing or a reaction to the product now that I hear you had as well

Since I've taken Synergy Super Greens, I.ve had terrible tummy pain and indigestion, like lot's of wind. In the past I've never had problems with spirulina. I might have IBS. Could the other three ingredients (chlorella, barley and wheat grass) cause any problems? There is a recommendation for food sensitive people on lable.

Hi Martin, as I am not qualified to answer your question I can only take an educated guess! I would try taking them after food and see if that helps. You could also start by taking a very low dose and and work your way up to a full dose over time.I understand that with IBS many different type of foods and products can cause an upset. Otherwise you may need to stop taking them. I hope this helps and good luck :)

Add a tablespoon of metamucil powder to the supergreens. It will sweeten the taste a little of the supergreens but the metamucil should help with the IBS. Just remember to drink plenty of water after consuming.

Hi Rosanna97,
I would suggest that you look into that with your health professional. I can't see any issues that would arise as the super green tablets are not chemical they are a whole food. My husband has also been taking anti-depressant with the super green tablets without any issues!
