TAAV Vaporaire T2008

I have been using my TAAV T2008 daily, for more than a month now, and quite satisfied with its performance. I turn it on when I get up and keep it on for about 12 hours until bedtime. I used to have a blocked nose most mornings, and my sinuses would play up, at times making me dizzy and heavy-headed, but not anymore, thanks to this Vaporizer which has given me relief. My only worry is that I may be running a high power bill because of daily 12-hour usage. There is nothing in the manual which spells out the voltage of this unit. Any thoughts or experiences on how much its daily use will cost me?

I really dont know but if it is helping surely it can't be more then leaving the microwave or a light on. My view is if it helps then dam the cost, rather be comfortable than in pain

Thanks Gail for echoing my own thoughts. Cheers, Emmy.

Emmy, how do you get the lid off to empty all the water out & clean it properly? I am frustrated as I've lost the manual. Please advise what you do? Thank you. Cheers Lou

Purchased the Taav Pro Vaporizer over the weekend as was congested and a chest infection, seemed to work ok 3 nights in a row, rinsed and left to dry each morning as instructed however last night when I turned it on, the steam was coming out in bursts rather than a consistent stream as it had on the previous nights. At first I thought it had not been on long enough and may have been "heating up" but another 30 minutes in and still the same "bursts" of steam happening and was a lot louder than normal. Obviously knowing something was off I had turned off the device but have since been finding it difficult to find any kind of website or customer care for the brand, can anyone point me in the right direction?

Hi,
I can't offer any further advise, other than this product it a waste of money. I purchased two of these last winter and they didn't see the season out. I put my review to the company but nothing happened. Sorry you wasted your money.
Regards
Amanda

Leave it switched off and unplugged for a while, perhaps 10 minutes.

TAAV Vaporaire T2000

I have a TAAV Vaporaire T2000 that has been in cupboard for years with no use, I pulled it out the other day as I had a bad chest infection and was coughing non stop, I found it gave me relief and let me sleep, my question is do I have to put a tablet in every night when I fill it up?

Yes Blondie, the purpose of the tablet is to purify the water so no chlorine and other chemicals are dispursed into the air. Councils use various chemicals to "purify"our drinking water. I use filtered water in my unit. A cheaper alternative is to use 1 teaspn or less of citric acid - buy this from the supermarket, you'll find it next to BiCarb, gelatine, salt, etc. less expensive than the tablets. William

10:30pm and I'm freaking! Sick kids with blocked noses, bought the Taav Compact Vaporiser in haste, now wonder if my house is going to burn down. Think I may turn it off before bed. Anyone have a 2016 experience or know if this company has rectified these dreadful faults as reviews below? Thank you and what an outrage this Australian company continued to stock this product with so many faults.

Hi, I have no idea if the company has rectified the issue. We bought another brand and have not had a problem. It's a better design where the water can't penetrate the electrics.

From the reviews it seems like people had it for a long time or left it on all night. I bought one too and read the reviews only last night so I had to turn it off at 3am because I was so paranoid. It did seem fine though. I'm not sure what to do.... I guess it's not worth it so I might buy another brand.

I have just bought the squat "compact" model - I don't know what the actual model number is. Have used it four times. It says that it has water capacity to run for 8 hours before empty and it will auto cut off. So, I filled it up half way. (there is no water level indicator). I ran it for 8 hours, and it used half of that water - so I am thinking it is not producing the steam it should. Last night, it used less than a quarter of the tank - and the unit was HOT. When I pulled the blue part out of the tank, brown stuff came out into the water. We have good quality town water here - so that can't be the problem. Definitely taking it back today for a refund. I am very disappointed, as the first two nights I got good relief for my sinuses. Batch number 040114 C106 if anybody wants to know. (you can find this on a sticker underneath the blue part).

I have a TAAV vapouriser and was advised to buy the cleaning tablets for it. However the unit is fully enclosed (apart from the steam outlet and the water reservoir). How do I get a cleaning tablet? The gaps around the water reservoir are not large enough to insert a tablet. Thanks

The cleaning tablet is for pre-model ie: T2000 model and not the new model T2008 (which the unit is fully enclosed apart from the steam outlet and water reservoir). There's no way to clean the T2008 which is my point of this review:(

Take the scientific approach: Mineral build-up from water can be dissolved with acid. In the lab we use very concentrated hydrochloric acid to clean our glassware which is used to make distilled water (you wouldn't want to drink tap water after seeing what these distillers removed from Melbourne tap water). Anyways, add half a cup of white vinegar to one cup of water. Put the humidifier outside and boil away! 20-30 minutes later your humidifier will be like new.
