Best on the market
I was nearly in tears with frustration every single day since the warm weather started as the endless parade of ants marched in just about every room in my house. I have wasted so much money on both chemicals and using natural solutions to no avail. Baiting, spraying, granules it just never worked and the ants always laughed their way back to the nest with any treasures they could find.
On a last ditch effort (before nuking the house) I once again sifted through the net and stumbled upon the Talon reviews. I use this site every time I make ex...
Read morepensive purchases (1000 stars to you!!!...easiest research method ever!). From what I read I thought why not? I had tried everything else. I purchased Talon on Friday and by Saturday evening 98% of my annoying visitors were no more! I didn't expect to get rid of all of them (some reside in a bedroom still). However I am counting it as a huge win. I agree with those that mentioned that Selleys needs to make the size bigger (please, please, please!) My kitchen and bathrooms have intruders no more! Very impressed. Super product. Thanks Selleys!Purchased in at Coles for $8.

Ok but I have used better
Its ok but expensive.
I now use borax powder mixed with sugar or honey.
Borax is still the cheapest and most effective i have seen.
Ant sand is useless against these small black ants they trudge all over it with no effect.
Another very good deterrent is mortein professional spray in a 2.5 litre spray container and Pest Xpert Pro spray crawling that you get from bunnings ..But make sure its the one with the nozzle that flips up and that its the Crawling one not the flying insect one.

Wish I could give it more stars
WOW, WOW, WOW. I placed the gel around random places in my house where I get ant infestations. I have added a picture of 10 minutes after applying, then a picture of the exact spot 5 house later. For 2 house there were so many ants in my house it was crazy, my carpet was riddled. Then all of a sudden nothing. The next morning I got up and not an ant in site which was super rare, I made my coffee and sprinkled a pile of sugar on the bench, went and drank my coffee and watched sunrise, decided to vacuum the copious amounts of ants out of my carpe...
Read moret and when I got to the kitchen the sugar had not been touched and not an ant to be seen. It's been 3 days and I'm happy to report I Love Talon Ant Gel. It was hot today and then we got a Thunderstorm and it's pouring with rain and not even one ant. Couldn't be more happy, I highly recommend.

Works very well on household ants in SE Queensland
We put small amounts of the gel along ant trails and within minutes they encircle it and take it away apparently killing the nest. Sometimes ants of the same or a different type are seen exploring along the old trails and with the application of a bit more gel they disappear as well. Great stuff, too expensive, however, when you can't locate the nest for a good spray with liquid ant poison it is the next best option.

Didn't work for me
We have tiny ants, they ignored Talon ant killer. I tested their preference with a number of different flavours from the kitchen. They weren't attracted to vegemite, honey, worcestershire sauce or Talon ant killer. They were somewhat attracted to BBQ sauce but went ape over peanut butter. I'm currently trying peanut butter and boric acid mixture. I also found that Talon ant killer dried up to a hard lump after a day.

The only product that works
Living in Queensland, during the summer we get some serious ant problems. They were everywhere, and repeatedly going into our kettle and dying in there. Nothing worse than offering your guests a coffee only to find ants floating in it.
My wife is adverse to unnecessary poisons, so we tried every natural remedy. Vinegar, eucalyptus oil and even boric acid. Nothing worked.
Then I went and bought some Ant Rid in granule and bait form. The granules did nothing but excite the ants. It made the problem worse and did nothing but leave stains everywh...
Read moreere I used it. And the baits? The ants would just go around them and not take the bait. I was at my witts end, almost ready to concede defeat and let the ants win. Then I found Talon Ant Gel and having spent close to $100 on other products, thought I had nothing to lose. I wish I bought this gel sooner. It works instantly. Follow the instructions and put it near nests and paths where ants are. You'll see ants instantly become attracted to the gel, it's incredible to see. They will swarm and go crazy for it (must smell and taste really good). They take the gel back to the nest and bye bye ants. This is the only thing that works. Don't waste your money on anything else, buy this and you won't regret it.Purchased in at Bunnings Warehouse for $9.
