Target 8L Portable Evaporative Cooler TARPEC30 Questions & Answers
16 questions from our users
How much does it cost to run it for 1hr
We took the aircon home opened the box to get the instruction book, there was none. We left it stand for 1hr and started it up working in the blind, we ran it for over an hour and the output was barely cool.
It uses the same amount of power as a 100 watt light bulb, my son used to run his all day and i never noticed on my electric bill.
Hi. What do I use to clean my TARPEC20 evaporative cooler?
What chemicals if any are safe to use? There is a partial cleaning advice on the back of the machine. BUT!! There's NO clear instructions as to how to clean nor what to use to clean all cleanable parts.
This is a damn fantastic machine. The best cooler by far!!!
"Clean the wet curtain - once every two weeks"
"Clean the water box - once every two weeks"
"Clean the filter plate - once every week"
"Clean the filter sponge - once every two weeks"
There NEEDS to be clear and precise cleaning instructions with diagrams of each cleanable part and what cleaning agent/s to use!!!!
Many thanks for a fantastic cooler
A sincere thanks
Aaron.
Mine came with no booklet on how to use? Can anyone take a pic of Instructions and post please?
Hi, type the title code you submitted into google search bar and you can download the pdf direct to your phone
What is the footprint of this cooler, please. I see that the height has been given in a previous post, but not the length and width. Those dimensions are more important for determining if this will fit in a small space.
Target!! How hard would it be for you to pop the Unit’s Dimension’s in the DETAILS area of your advertisement .. it would save a lot of searching ..I can’t find what the Product Size is .. and your not telling me when I write to you ..obviously a big secret!!
Hello ..how tall [hight} is this unit
How would it go with a open plan lounge room
If you imagine a carvan size area it would have a significant effect but open plan ..would need to be blowing on you directly..still much cooler than a fan.
Agree. Great if its blowing on you but will not cool a room. Ours works great in a big room if you point it at you. Hope that helps.
What is the size? How many kilowatts, can it run of a 3.5 kva generator?
Uses 65 watts same as a light bulb..with a 3.5 kw generator you could run a fair few..i bought 5..3 for the house, two for the caravan..great little units.
What are the demensions
Its low enough to roll under our dining table standing up. Works best with plenty of air behind it ie. not pushed up against a wall. I still highly recommend this unit - although its not an aircon - its a cool fan. It had the added bonus of cleaning the air when the smoke from bushfires was really bad here in Port Macquarie.
Is it noisy? Easy to refill water?
On medium setting quiet, water is easy, make sure to swich unit off before refill,if water runs dry it has auto cut out too. Just twist locking lug and remove water container, fill and slide back in..my 12 year old daughter showed me how..:)
Depends on how hard you turn on the tap when you refill.
what are the specifications please?
electricity consumption details? how many watts does this cooler use?
How easy is it to move up and down stairs?
Thanks
Hi, It's very portable and not that heavy once you empty the water reservoir. Move the unit only once the water reservoir has been removed and emptied.
Is there a removable water section that you have to separately take out of the machine?
I think I misunderstood your answer, you mean just drain the water not remove.
How noisy are these coolers
Would this unit be suitable for the Qld (far north) or would it be just like a fan moving the room air around?
Hi, I am from FNQ. It works great. Need to follow few rules and it will keep the room cool. Ensure that a window or door is open for ventilation. Next, use a freezer pack or two to keep the water cold.
Just my tuppence worth here - evaporative coolers can work great in really hot weather, sometimes when AC struggles from the heat, evaporative just gets better and better. BUT, you need to know its limitations - in humid weather it is not going to have any cooling effect. And in a sealed space it won't work either, you'll just make the room damp - you have to have air moving freely in and out, ie. window open etc. Hence a portable unit will be limited by the fact that outside warm air will always enter the space. Built in evaporative systems can be awesome, and cost a whole lot less to run than AC. Many people slate evaporative in reviews but I wonder if they know how to use them properly.
Hi. Read your review. Can you tell me if the unit would be too noisy for a bedroom? Thanks
