Taubmans Endure Low Sheen Questions & Answers

Could you please tell me whether this paint contains Polyurethane? Thanks.
Hi Ian,
Taubmans Endure Walls is acrylic based and does not contain any polyurethane.
Have painted the hall wall 5 times with endure low sheen it still leaves streaks and looks like some areas do not have paint I am using 12mm nap roller
Yes, I had exactly the same experience despite careful wet edge and laying off techniques. I’ve painted 4 other houses, with different brands of paint, without this problem
It's awful paint. I've used other paints with no issues. I would switch paints and try again.
Hi Steve,
...
Read moreFor general paint finishes, we recommend using Taubmans Endure in Low Sheen. In areas like hallways where there can be glancing light, we recommend Taubmans Endure Matt finish as this hides any imperfections in these type of areas. Rollers play a part also, 12mm nap roller is considered too long for applying interior wall paints and can apply too much paint to the surface creating a more rough effect, whereas a more suitable length will be 8mm-10mm instead. If there is a visual effect that can be felt when running your fingers across the surface, the areas will require light sanding so as to provide a uniform base. No sanding is required if the irregularities can’t be felt. If significant irregularities are not sanded smooth, then the effect may re-appear. You will need to apply Taubmans 3 in 1 to seal the surface back to a uniformed appearance. In these type of areas, we recommend applying Taubmans Endure Matt finish as the reduced sheen level can lower the amount of glancing light that reflects from the surface and can hide some imperfections across the walls surface. All the best, Taubmans Teami am busy painting inside of my house with Endure CREDANCE =t15 10 .3 on my 5th tin i noticed that the details on the sticker has changed on the mixture where as in showed numbers and letters it only shows numbers the chap at bunnings said they put a new program in and its the same can you please reasure me this is correct thanks Bryan Walker
Can i paint over endure low sheen in my doorways and high used areas with endure gloss that says its for doorways. Do i habe to sand right back to wood or just a light sand and apply
I did use my low sheen as an undercoat for my gloss and yes I did lightly sand it. It worked fine for me.
I have so much left over and finances are tight. Would I be able to use the remaining colour and do a coat on my bathroom walls
Or is that going to just not work
Given I have had trouble with the painted surfaces changing colour with time, I believe you can use the paint, but be prepared to paint all the bathroom walls, as it almost certainly won’t match the e...
Read morexisting colour. It may take two coats. Good luck with it.I have rollered my hallway four times and you can still see the roller marks how do i fix this this is the worse paint ever.
Unfortunately you can't. The last lot of paint I have bought of this product has been terrible and I won't purchase ever again. Im going back to Dulux.
Would painting another coat of dulux paint fix the problem
Endure is fine. Weather and technique? Roller marks are generally caused by a failure to maintain a constant wet edge. Solution: Paint in small enough adjacent sections to maintain the constant wet ed...
Read morege. Very hot weather will cause paint to flash dry faster .e.g typical summer in Qld or W.A. i.e. So don't paint in very hot -or very humid, conditions. if it's not technique and you're having an issue with the paint being too viscous and drying too fast, you can alter the first by thinning the paint according to instructions, and adding a retarder to extend the working time. Hey, If I can work with Rockcote Armour externally on render and maintain a wet edge, Endure internally is a literal breeze to use.I have just painted a feature wall with Tubman's Endure, the original wall was a light brown and the first coat coverage is horrible, it is streaky and patchy and I consider myself a reasonable painter and now I am questioning what is going on? I am ready to go and buy a Dulux to paint over this has anyone had any success in covering this paint?
I am also concerned about the health implications following reading some previous notes.

The coverage of paint is dependant on the colour and application, as long as you have given the can a good stir with a lifting action for 5-10mins and using a 11mm roller ( gyprock surface) most colo...
Read moreurs will cover in two .... except white straight off the shelf and strong colours using a neutral base these will generally take 3 coats, with an even application and a grey base undercoat is needed for strong colours. Endure really covers well in my experience even better than Dulux. Hope this helps. Thanks Tony, we were really disappointed with the paint and went and got Dulux and finished the job. We had followed all advice including following steps as you mentioned above. Our experience is such...
Read more that we will never try any Taubman's product again, it did not cut the mustard and I would not waste my time or money on their products. Thanks GaryHi Gary
I have just painted over timber panelling using Taubmans Endure and found it to go on nicely. I did prime the walls before application but found the coverage great. Two coats and you would ne...
Painted bathrooms with taubmans endure but not the bathroom one, as Bunnings had the 6L interior low sheen endure on special and staff said there was no difference. New walls were sealed with sealer binder and we waited 8 months prior to painting. Since using taubmans we get bad streaking in both bathrooms, even with windows open and upgraded our exhaust fans we still have streaks, I have to keep a mop in my shower to mop walls after we shower. Didn't happen with just the sealer binder on walls, and our ceilings are solver paint and they also don't get streaks or moisture sitting on them. Is it the taubmans paint and bad advice from Bunnings staff??
You used sealer/binder for your undercoat, you should've used acrylic sealer undercoat, then applied 2 coats of your endure giving you a full acrylic system. No streaks or mould as the system is desi...
Read moregned to breathe. The sealer/binder will not allow the coating to breathe therefore promoting mould at a later date....Had whole house painted about a year ago with Endure and its holding up fine, however the ensuite now has streaky condensed water lines over winter. The ends of the water streaks are dark as if wall dust has collected as water flowed down.
Never had this problem with original paint work, and yes the exhaust fan is always on - suspect old paint probably absorbed the condensation so it did not flow.
Will try higher flow exhaust fan, but would like to know whether the Endure is wrong type for ensuites.
Hi Tom
We re painted our bathrooms with Dulux kitchen and bathroom. Fantastic. No lines at all. If moisture is on the wall you just wipe it off. It has a built in mould protector as well. Hope this helps.
Thanks for the feedback
Will try it if continues after I clean down wall
Hi,
I am not a painter and I have not yet painted my bathrooms, however, i think there is an Endure kitchen and bathroom paint. I believe you are meant to paint bathrooms with a higher gloss level b...
