I have so much left over and finances are tight. Would I be able to use the remaining colour and do a coat on my bathroom walls
Or is that going to just not work

Given I have had trouble with the painted surfaces changing colour with time, I believe you can use the paint, but be prepared to paint all the bathroom walls, as it almost certainly won’t match the existing colour. It may take two coats. Good luck with it.

Unfortunately you can't. The last lot of paint I have bought of this product has been terrible and I won't purchase ever again. Im going back to Dulux.

Would painting another coat of dulux paint fix the problem

Endure is fine. Weather and technique? Roller marks are generally caused by a failure to maintain a constant wet edge. Solution: Paint in small enough adjacent sections to maintain the constant wet edge. Very hot weather will cause paint to flash dry faster .e.g typical summer in Qld or W.A. i.e. So don't paint in very hot -or very humid, conditions. if it's not technique and you're having an issue with the paint being too viscous and drying too fast, you can alter the first by thinning the paint according to instructions, and adding a retarder to extend the working time. Hey, If I can work with Rockcote Armour externally on render and maintain a wet edge, Endure internally is a literal breeze to use.

Every colour is made up of a mix of different colours. Some greys have green undertones some greys blue etc etc. The best thing for you to do is look at a colour chart or go on line at Taubmans and look through their colour pallets. You can even take a picture of say a wall and turn it into the colours you like to get an idea of how they will look. I have not however seen a yellow shade of grey!

PS - Just checked that colour out. It is more a beige than a grey

Another idea is to ask your paint store or colour consultant if the tints used to mix the colour might give a yellow undertone. If your room has good sunlight from the north, then paint will look more yellow at the times of day that it receives sunlight. Does it look more grey at night?

I have just painted a feature wall with Tubman's Endure, the original wall was a light brown and the first coat coverage is horrible, it is streaky and patchy and I consider myself a reasonable painter and now I am questioning what is going on? I am ready to go and buy a Dulux to paint over this has anyone had any success in covering this paint?
I am also concerned about the health implications following reading some previous notes.

The coverage of paint is dependant on the colour and application, as long as you have given the can a good stir with a lifting action for 5-10mins and using a 11mm roller ( gyprock surface) most colours will cover in two .... except white straight off the shelf and strong colours using a neutral base these will generally take 3 coats, with an even application and a grey base undercoat is needed for strong colours. Endure really covers well in my experience even better than Dulux. Hope this helps.

Thanks Tony, we were really disappointed with the paint and went and got Dulux and finished the job. We had followed all advice including following steps as you mentioned above. Our experience is such that we will never try any Taubman's product again, it did not cut the mustard and I would not waste my time or money on their products.
Thanks

Hi Gary
I have just painted over timber panelling using Taubmans Endure and found it to go on nicely. I did prime the walls before application but found the coverage great. Two coats and you would never know the walls were brown timber panelling! I have a feeling it depends on where you purchase the products. We buy from Bunnings with a high paint turnover. I have used the Endure on all of our walls and am extremely happy with the product but have read other stories about poor finishes which makes me think the paint has been in storage for a while prior to purchase.

Painted bathrooms with taubmans endure but not the bathroom one, as Bunnings had the 6L interior low sheen endure on special and staff said there was no difference. New walls were sealed with sealer binder and we waited 8 months prior to painting. Since using taubmans we get bad streaking in both bathrooms, even with windows open and upgraded our exhaust fans we still have streaks, I have to keep a mop in my shower to mop walls after we shower. Didn't happen with just the sealer binder on walls, and our ceilings are solver paint and they also don't get streaks or moisture sitting on them. Is it the taubmans paint and bad advice from Bunnings staff??

You used sealer/binder for your undercoat, you should've used acrylic sealer undercoat, then applied 2 coats of your endure giving you a full acrylic system. No streaks or mould as the system is designed to breathe. The sealer/binder will not allow the coating to breathe therefore promoting mould at a later date....

Had whole house painted about a year ago with Endure and its holding up fine, however the ensuite now has streaky condensed water lines over winter. The ends of the water streaks are dark as if wall dust has collected as water flowed down.
Never had this problem with original paint work, and yes the exhaust fan is always on - suspect old paint probably absorbed the condensation so it did not flow.
Will try higher flow exhaust fan, but would like to know whether the Endure is wrong type for ensuites.

Hi Tom
We re painted our bathrooms with Dulux kitchen and bathroom. Fantastic. No lines at all. If moisture is on the wall you just wipe it off. It has a built in mould protector as well. Hope this helps.

Hi,
I am not a painter and I have not yet painted my bathrooms, however, i think there is an Endure kitchen and bathroom paint. I believe you are meant to paint bathrooms with a higher gloss level because the steam can affect regular wall paint. Having said that, my current bathroom paint is as flat as you can get, its like chalk, and its not streaky, but bathroom is heated and i use the fan. Maybe contact Taubmans.

My builder accidentally marked the Taubmans endure paint with a lead pencil line. Can you please advise how I should remove it?

Hi Betty, In all honesty, I have found the absolute best thing to use is a White Magic sponge. Admittedly, it does take away some surface of the paint. But! Wipe it over with a clean damp cloth (I used a micro fibre from Go-Lo) afterwards. You most likely will have to do this a couple of times, perhaps more. Let it dry between each wipe. Check it out from every angle. It sounds laborious but it isn't. No chemicals but water. Just like when using chemicals (which we all know are detrimental on any porous surface) just keep wiping over with a clean damp cloth until streak free. Honestly, I've put up with marks on the walls for 3yrs after using chemicals (this includes a known brand sugar soap). Doesn't remove the marks and still leaves evidence you've tried to get rid of them, not matter how many rinses with a clean damp (semi wet even) cloth. White Magic only. I thought I'd try the Chux form of White Magic. What a waste of money & time. WHITE MAGIC. I know Mitre 10 sell it. TVSN. Google the stockists. White Magic lives up to it's name. You try anything it claims to do. I doubt you'd be disappointed. I hope this helps!

Try a new, clean, eraser on a small section of the mark.

Thank you for your responses. - I have tried using a clean eraser then used a damp (water only) cloth over. However, it has now left a long smudge instead of a fine pencil line. - I will try to get some WHITE MAGIC as suggested by Red and see how I progress. - Many thanks for your advice - much appreciated! Hi Painting 2145,
Sorry about the delayed reply, I have to say I bit the bullet and peeled off the taubmans ceiling white, sanded and plastered the joins, applied a coat Dulux sealer binder (oil based) and two coats of Dulux ceiling white flat, THE RESULT IS MAGINICENT!
Good luck

My lads bedroom is painted a very dark color. He has moved away so it is time for me to use a near white paint. I was planing to use Endure, my question is how many coats of paint would be recommended say a primer, then 2 coats of Taubmans Endure in the color of my choice?

I would NOT use Endure. I had terrible coverage and I was painting a dark colour over cream. It was terrible paint. From my experience to do light over dark you'd honestly need 6+ coats.

annette.luck.96

If you are using a primer or undercoat, tint the undercoat to the same color as the top coat. Gives a more solid color and coverage.
