Early Review for the TV - not yet fully tried it out
I have to place a note - the model is a 75P8MR (75") no option to place it here
Now we just got this TV, its picture is fantastic and the response times for things are great, blacks looks great for a LED, HDR is nice and it comes with feature rich content. Bluetooth, WIfif, Dolby Vision, Dolby Atmos, Chromecast, YouTube, Netflix and Stan. Remote control has built in voice commands alongside a normal remote and it also has google home and allexa support.
As I stated we only just got this and so far I am impressed but ultimately time will tell...Read more
on everything (so will be updating in the future) The connections are standard, I think there could have been more connections but its OK, if your running a few devices with older RCA plugs then you will need a switch box to connect it as only 1 input is able to be applied. The sound of the TV was impressive, TCL is really a budget orientated market brand, but am impressed by the sound quality - I haven't gamed on it so cannot actually make any references towards gaming well I will come back in a few months to give an update but to what I see now its really a lovely TV that I have no probs in recommending

Good image - terrible software support
Built in Chromecast is a mystery. Works some days. Other days it won't work at all. Lost am hour today with TCL support to do factory reset and checks.
After that the tv still crashes and reboots into "safe mode"
Tv won't run Disney app. Opens Disney + but refuses to work on internal Chromecast on Disney. My own external chrome cast ultra runs Disney just fine
Built in Chromecast is also much softer volume level than external Chromecast on Netflix
Casting from phone to internal Chromecast on Disney just opens from phone app and then says 'unknown device' if cast to tv Chromecast

Early days but loving it
Pros
I have no real knowledge of what to expect in a 4 k tv but i am thrilled so far.
I probably need to wait a few weeks, I feel I will be more impressed.
I love the big screen, I haven't used 4k to any great degree but i am amazed
At a few 4k clips i have watched on YouTube
I love the included voice remote, and glad too see it is no longer sold as a accessory
The three year warranty was a consideration, as long as it is honoured.
3 HDMI outlets are great,, I also appreciate the USB outlet as this enables me using time shift and ability to record.

Great TV and value.
Great tv. I upgraded from a 10 year old 50" panasonic plasma to the 75 TCL. The menu works fine. Easy to navigate. Im not a tv guru but the picture looks fantastic. Even compared to the $$$ TV is store the picture looked great. Connected a heap of Apps all work great. Got the free extra google assist remote works a treat. Came with 3y warranty had to walk past a $1245 75" TV on sale at JBs.

Just Average
Had this for a couple of months and the picture is great but have some other issues, my Samsung soundbar connects but doesnt always, freeview hasnt worked since day 1 but working with TCL, Voice Remote has stopped working a couple of times which means a factory reset and reinstalling apps, when doing a factory reset you also have to reformat external storage so loose anything downloaded, I am working with TCL to get these issues sorted but no success as yet, if you dont have a little technical knowledge then probably avoid this, im sure we will get issues sorted though and for the price its ok, we have fox with iq4 and the 4k quality of this TV is excellent

Bargin for your money
The smart tv apps are supper easy to use and the straight forward. The control is set up to make it easier to get in and out of apps. The only problem is that it looses connectivty qith wireless internet if you internet connection is not strong enough. Yes it does have enpugh port to connect devices such as ps4 consoles and other items. The sound quality is amazing on this tv and it helps to make for a cinema like experience as the tv size is really big. I would definitely reccomend this tv if you want to find a cheaper good quality tv. Its is well worth the price i paid for it.

Avoid this TV (Blurry NOT clear)
Purchased this TCL online from bing lee & went in store to pick it up, it was sitting right next to the hisense R6 & the picture quality of this tcl was no different to my 10year old plasma, yeah if your just after a big size upgrade then it sure is a big tv but i would honestly say that my old plasma screen would be on par with the image quality of this tv. Total shocker in my opinion!!! Also it’s obvious that you get what you pay for but In actual fact the Hisense 75 R6 is only $200 more and the image quality is so much sharper and also brig...Read more
hter and deeper black tones etc.... I’m 100% sure you will thank god you seen my review before buying a new budget 75” tv & run far away from this TCL before you get stuck with a rubbish blurry tv.... do yourself a favour and spend the extra $200 & go for the hisense R6 it’s sharp & bright & blows this TCL away by miles for only $200 extra Go and view them side by side like I did !!!! Thats all I can say !!!! Also, the hisense frame is slim and sleek and the TCL border is fatter than an old street directory or large bible which you will be needing if you have already purchased this tv before reading my honest review! Wonderful when not rebooting itself randomly.
This set is quite easy to set up.
The picture quality is fantastic, so good in fact that it is difficult to tell the difference between this and one twice the price.
Apps supplied are OK but after six weeks of trying I still can't figure out how to get a new app to install.
User manual is terrible, tells you nearly nothing, but even less so when what you want is important.
My set randomly resets, ie: it beeps, shuts down then restarts at random sometimes not a for a few days, then maybe 1, 2 or 3 times a day for a few days.
As this TV takes ove...Read more

This product is outstanding.
Very easy to setup. Took my time getting familiar with Android TV Operating System. Logged onto our $K Netflix subscription. Flawless. ensures High db rated signal for aerial (93% signal strength). Issues with some channels. Rebooted Android Os fixed all sync issues rectified after scan for Channels with reboot. Adjusted Tint, Colour, contrast and some white and black settings and optimised picture even further.
Works with a HTPC connected up perfectly. Mi Box connected working at 4K. Panasonic Blu Ray Ultra working at 4K. Netflix outstanding...Read more
at 4K. Tested downloaded movies at 4K - all worked and with no failure on differing sound standards such as DTS and Dolby Digital. Connected a 2 terrabyte hard drive to USB port. All downloads worked and other material. Connected via DLNA to my NAS Drive (Netgear) - all photos found, home videos videos etc worked. Other computers detected. Blue tooth devices all detected. Not tested. In Summary: 1) Ensure you a good aerial connection via its internal Channel diagnosis. 2) Ensure you are wired network connected ( not Wireless networking ). This is greater stability in 4k internet connections (high bandwidth) 3) We have NBN optical to the premises. . Ensure your Internet is above 15mbps download or you may choke on 4K. Most internet connections work on Netflix Standard HD without issue.Purchased in June 2021 at VideoPro for $1,995.00.

Follow up. TCL still enjoying. The picture quality in good 4K Netflix or other source is excellent. Broadcasting Free to Air in Australia is now very backward in varying quality from bad to excellent.... Read more
It is about time the TV networks upgraded all there camera captures as some are still broadcasting news source material that is 576 upscaled to 1080. (Brisbane ABC) In the era of 4K it is about time frames to delivery of 4K, The 7:30 program that follows the ABC news Brisbane is true 1080 and good quality. Scaling up from 576i and broadcasting in 1080i is unacceptable quality. Let alone trying to upscale the already up scaled source of 576i material stepped up to 4K. This in turn is made even worse on a 75" TV. There is only so much improvement processing that can be done. This is not fault of the TCL TV. I have owned a Samsung QLED TV and know what I talking about. To prolong the life of the TCL you should also have a surge protector on the power that goes to the TV. These TVs work on a very low voltages are are very energy efficient.Similar opinion? Write a review on ieatwords.com.au!

One of the worst Experiences. Avoid this product
The TV and all it's features for the price point are incredible. The picture is clear and crisp. The installation was a breeze and it worked for 1 day.
I bought my P8M from Good guys in Prospect. This TV was to replace my Samsung 55inch plasma tv.
After the 1st day I switched the power off at the back as I do for all my appliances.
Next day I switched on my tv and black screen. No video, no picture. Only sound. I called good guys asap to let them know that my brand new tv is potentially a dud.
I called customer service at TCL they advised to get a new one and I might have potentially got a lemon.
So fair enough - good guys prospect organised a swap to a new TCL 75 inch P8M.
Guess what? ...Read more

J.S.Waddellasked
Does the light on the sensor turn off when the tv is off ?
1 answer
On my 50" model the light under the centre of the screen is the on/off switch which can be operated manually or by remote. Light on = TV off and Light Off = TV on.

I can now add that the Disney app also won't work at all. It works very well on my external Chromecast if I push it from my android but won't work if I push the android app to the tv. That ends in tears as "unknown media..."
