Hi I think something is wrong with it and it won't be worth fixing . Because it's 2yrs old it is out of warranty . Maybe if you rang Tefal they may help . It might just be something simple .Hope this helps.

I bought a Actifry snacking basket like the one in this video https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-5D_toPOClw
It sits in place of the paddle and doesn't push the food around.
I cook chicken nuggets, fish fingers, chiko rolls, spring rolls... All sorts of things and have had no issues with food being squashed.
My kids even use it to reheat KFC or Fish and chips nicely.
You can buy them on ebay.
Hope that helps.

It shouldn't just make sure it is clicked in properly. If it still comes off it sounds like it's faulty.

Can the Actifry Express be used without the paddle? It breaks up crumbed or frozen battered fish every time making this sort of soft food very unattractive to serve!

1 answer
Tefal
Tefal A.Tefal

Hi Lesley,
Tefal do not recommend that you use the Actifry without the paddle as the stiring motion of the paddle does ensure that the food cooks evenly. However in saying this if you do decide not to use the paddle it will not damage the machine, however you will need to remember to manually turn your food to stop any burning. Tefal do have an accessory available for the Actifry called the Snacking Basket which is designed especially for soft food so the paddle does not damage it please watch the below video for more information https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nNEd3QWk5CM.
This Accessory can be purchased from any Major Retailer.
We hope this helps

I've literally just opened the box and after reading manual and now reviews, I cant use it for anything I bought it to cook! How on earth are you supposed to cook anything (sausages/drumsticks/chips etc) if you can remove the paddle? Not impressed, and thats before using it.

Hi Elle,
Thanks for your question on the Tefal Actifry. To be able to assist you with this could you please confirm the ingredients that you have that you are wanting to cook in the Actifry we can provide recipes on how to use these ingredients. Also could you clarify the Paddle issue, this needs to be in whilst cooking so it can turn the food to get an even cooking result. To help out please see below a Recipe for Chicken Drumsticks in the Actifry:
Chicken Drumsticks with Garlic,Lemon and Coriander
SERVES 2 • PREPARATION 5 min • COOKING 25 min
500 g/1 lb 2 oz skinless
chicken drumsticks
1 fresh coriander leaves
¼ fresh garlic finely
chopped
1,5 lemon juice
1 vegetable oil
salt, to taste
(optional)
1.Wash the chicken drumsticks, drain and put them in the ActiFry pan.
2 Sprinkle with olive oil and cook for 15 to 20 minutes, then add the coriander leaves and garlic, and mix well with a wooden spoon. Add the lemon juice and cook for
5 more minutes
Thank You - Tefal Australia

simply remove the paddle and put your sausages/drumsticks/chips in, set timer for 10 mins, then give a stir and set again.

I don't know how much power is consumed, I should ask my son as he is an electrician, I have 4.8 kW solar system on and also I have never removed centre part to cook so hope someone else can help you there.

Tefal
Tefal A.Tefal

Hi Yalini, Thank you for your question on the Tefal Actifry. Please note that the FZ7060 Actifry is 1400Watts. In regards to cooking with the paddle this can be done however Tefal do not recommend. The reason why the paddle is there is to ensure even heat distribution to your food whilst cooking, therefor using this appliance without the paddle may overcook your food in some areas and under cook in others. You can purchase the Tefal Snacking Accessory which fits onto your Actifry which may offer some more room. To find out more details on the snacking accessory you can contact our Customer Service Team on 1300 307 824.

Can you cook a small roast in it say 800 grms?

1 answer
Tefal
Tefal A.Tefal

Hello. Thank you for your comment. The roast could fit in the machine without the paddle, but it isn't recommended as liquid could leak through the hole in the middle which could cause damage to the machine.
If we can ever be of any assistance please don't hesitate to contact us.

Hi, can I cook with the actifry without adding any oil at all? I have already done so once with raw potato slices, the chips turned out very well even without a drop of oil. I was wondering if I continued to cook without oil, if it may damage the product? As I have noticed there is a 'minimum line' for oil, on the tefal oil dosage spoon.

1 answer
Lily
Lily

No you won't damage the product if you don't use oil - the instruction book does not say that you must use oil. I have also cooked without using oil and the chips still brown nicely. Although I find that sometimes I need to use a small amount if I cut thicker potato wedges or chunks - the oil seems to help them brown and cook more quickly.
