It shouldn't just make sure it is clicked in properly. If it still comes off it sounds like it's faulty.

Hi, the paddle is there to turn food such as potatoes over when roasting. If you remove the paddle then the device will not rotate at all. The Actifry comes with a recipe book and guidelines for cooking some foods.

My activity did not come with a recipe book.

There's not much in the recipe book. Disappointing

I havent tried this but the paddle just keeps the food moving to cook evenly, i would imagine it would cook just the same without the paddle if its just an egg you are cooking

I ha w the same problem I hate using the paddle it squishes everything is there a trick ?

Unfortunately only from tefal u can buy it but usually it shouldn't break, I gave them the name of consumer court that when they chemged it for free. Do the same and see how u go cos they cost allot.

I made a mistake buying the new wand for my Tefal Air Fryer, within a month more plastic parts started to break away leaving me with an unusable Air Fryer. I would not recommend the Tefal Airfryer to anyone, the plastics parts (of which there a lot) breaks down and bits fall off into the food.

Yes you can. I only keep the arm in for chips, nuggets and things like that. i take the arm out for fish fingers, hash browns, party pies, sausage rolls etc because they break up. You will find that there are 'hot spots' when cooking without the arm so check and move the things around often.

Don't even try it, mine got burnt. And smell everywhere. It's a piece of crap, throw it in the bin

no you need the basket with handle

You can use the snack rack with it but cannot do two things at a time you need the two in one model for that.

Yes I removed the paddle because everything was sticking to it. Now I cook everything it it without the paddle and I use my actifry daily.

Sorry but sounds like the heating element is not working. It is possible that there is an inline fuse associated with the element, in which case it might have "blown" in which case you need to get it serviced. Maybe its under warranty?
