A great all-round air fryer.
Overall very satisfied with this machine. Have had it for 2 years and use it regularly. As I cook roasts in my slow cooker, the air fryer is a better option for me than using the oven to do the roast vegetables. Rosemary roast potatoes are our favourite, and they go golden and crispy without having to use vast amounts of fat. The machine is relatively easy to clean and (I'll be honest) a challenge to store because of the size and shape, but I managed to make room for it.

Not worth the money
With two small children who love their nuggets and chips I thought this would be worth investing in. After about 12 months of use plastic bits start breaking and have to be replaced. With each part costing more and more it soon adds up to be a expensive investment. Cooked well when using for two people but the few times I tried cooking large amounts of chips it took a long time and they didn't cook properly. When the handle broke I vowed I wouldn't replace it as it's cost to much already!

we are using it for chips, vegetables (most of them), chicken nuggets and all become tasty for eating straight away.
foods goes a bit more tasteless than normal fry if they get cold

Highly Recommended
I bought this machine with the intention of trying to reduce the amount of fat in our diet, cooking with less oil. We only ever used this to make chips, and were happy with the way it cooked them. But we found that we actually ended up eating more chips than we normally would because it was so convenient to make them. Other than that little downside, the machine never gave us any problems at all and we found it relatively easy to clean. Not a fan of the size of it, but don't know what can be done about that. We had to move interstate and so...Read more
I chose to give the machine to my daughter, taking the opportunity to try and limit the amount of chips we ate. Well after 1 month my husband insisted on buying another as he missed his chips. I relented, but purchased a cheaper type machine online. Regretted it as the chips were never done well and after two weeks we stopped using it. Now that machine sits and gathers dust while my daughter interstate is still happily using the Tefal. And now we have a deep fryer!!Similar opinion? Write a review on ieatwords.com.au!
Beware - short shelf life
August 19th, 2017
HI
I’ve been using the Tefal Actifry for a couple of years. I was very pleased with it, even though it was very noisy. On Friday 18th August 2017 within 2 minutes of setting it off, it stopped working. The paddle continued to go round, but there was no sound. I am disappointed that such an expensive kitchen item would have such a limited shelf life. I had hoped it would last for at least 5 years. Nevertheless, I’ve bought another one, as I had some vouchers I could put towards the cost. I notice in that short time this model...Read more

No more burns from splattering oil!
I love this machine! No more oil wastage or worried about oil igniting.I was concerned that it took 30 minutes for the chips to cook but by the time I prepared the rest of the meal, time was up.I have a slight vision problem and this means I can have my chips cooked in a safer way for me.The unit is easy to clean and not many parts to clean. It is a bit cumbersome but light enough to carry.I am recommending it to all I know.

Simple frying without the mess
A little on the bulky side but very simple and efficient to use, just one small spoonful of oil and I get perfect fries every time. I have also used it for making a one pot curry and it turned out delicious, reducing the amount of pans and wash up needed. easy wipe clean surface, no need to scrub.

Brittle housing
I loved my machine. It worked well. But for a leading brand its housing and blade are useless.
For the price it didn't last long before it snapped the lid and blade rendering it useless. I did email the company ages ago but never heard anything back. I threw it out as a waste of money. Very disappointed!!

Melted Paddle
Our paddle just broke and since it's out of warranty Tefal won't replace it! The guy just kept saying "I don't know, I don't know" when I tried to explain to him it seems to be a common problem and should be replace for free! I'm not paying $50 for a part that's faulty.

Only lasted 16 months
If my machine had lasted the distance I would have a completely different review. I loved using it, and it cooked chips nicely, as well as crumbed chicken breast strips for kids lunches and spring rolls. Our family pretty much used it daily.
However just after 12 months use, the paddle broke. The arm broke off and looked disintegrated/crumbly. I contacted Qantas FF Award Store as this is where I purchased it from and they forwarded my complaint to Tefal. Tefal did get back to me, and as it was only just outside of warranty they sent me a n...Read more

Perfect Chips everytime without any Oil!!
I eat healthy and never used to fry chips because of the fat. When I got this and started using I didn't even need to use oil because I used the frozen chips from Woolies which turned out crispy and yummy for just 25mins. I keep it cooking on the side while I make other dishes.
Recommend it!

Great for fries
In my experienxe It is grear for fries and chicken wings but not so much for other food. However the enwrgy consumption is really high. If you fry potato alor, then go for it otherwise, i dpnt thunk is worth the price. It a alittle bit pricy in my opinion

Experimented with different foods
Love this, you do not need the paddle unless for fries, if coating anything, remove paddle drop in cook, It is a time cooking, just like your oven, only difference, this does exactly what it should at constant temp were ovens very.
So in closing paddle out, unless making fries,

This works ok for me.
This machine cant do it all but it does chips well. It uses 1520 watts of energy that heats up quick in a small area rather than you do the same in a 3000 watt electric oven. That makes it cost effective, cheaper to use and the lack of oil used makes it healthier. I bought it just for that and it does a very good job, cook time of 30-35 minutes to do this on average makes it fast and easy to use. As a quick healthy snack maker, it does its job. I would not expect it can do all things well, the agitator is fairly robust and crumbed items will...Read more
likely rub off. I do not use it for that purpose. If you target the appliance for chips/wedges/fries (using a chipping tool on potatoes), it is really good. And you can dispense with the rubbish processed foods for your guests or kids on the weekends. Only thing is that it is noisy. Portatbility means you can cook outside and not heat up the house in summer. Here is a tip. If you rub your chipped pototoes in salt and some oil and let it sit in a bowl for 15 mins it will release moisture making it even more crispy. Yes chips can get soggy, just adjust cooking times and get them out fast to prevent sweating once cooked. You really have to make your own rules up on this thing.Similar opinion? Keep your money!
We've not tried this as a general "Fryer" but we have tried everything to cook decent chips, it's why we bought it! All we get no matter what we try is soggy chips.
We've tried different potatoes, different oils, different cooking times, chips soaked to remove the starch, then dried
