Brilliant for novice cooks, but use common sense!
If you are a novice cook, you will enjoy the features of the Cook4Me+.
As with all appliances, there is a teething period where you have to learn the features and tweak how you operate it (like not screwing the underside of the lid on too tightly). It is evident a lot of thought and design went into this appliance, from the excellent non stick pot, to the handles allowing you to remove the hot pot safely, to the sleek look of the appliance.
The browning function is particularly impressive with a fast heat up allowing all the flavours to rema...Read more
in in your meal rather than decanting between the stove and the appliance as required by other multi cookers I have tried. The recipes provided via the Cook4Me app are generally simple and easy to follow. There are some minor errors within some recipes which can usually be resolved with common sense, and the photos can be a more stylised version of what your meal will actually look like (my BBQ chicken drumsticks and Thai chicken and rice looked different), but all recipes we tried were pretty tasty and it is very easy to make notes and tweak the recipe to your personal preferences. It is also worthwhile looking at the recipe reviews in the app to pick up hints that other people have used to tweak and improve the recipes. Some recipes seem to miss a step telling you to put in ingredients which can be confusing the first time you cook something - if you let common sense prevail you can generally work it out pretty quick. The recipes tend to rely on prepackaged sauces, which would suit people looking for quick flavour but aren’t as healthy as homemade fresh ones.Similar opinion? Write a review on ieatwords.com.au!

Serious Kitchen Gamechanger - has replaced 3 of my kitchen appliances!
So impressed with this Tefal smart cooker. It has now replaced multiple appliances (saving space and washing up), gotten my partner who would never cook before to start cooking because it's so simple and straightforward with its instructions and made cooking easier for me. It basically does everything except chop up your ingredients. This is one of the best kitchen appliances I have ever had.
Overall design - sleek and modern and a beautiful deep red. The screen can be personalised and is very easy to use and navigate (It only took me about 1...Read more
5 minutes to go through the manual and figure out how to use the inbuilt menu fully). It's quite simple and intuitive, so you don't get overwhelmed with figuring the machine out before you've even begun to use it. The help manual is also very clear and with not a lot of complicated instructions. It's sturdy and solid, but not overly heavy and bulky, so it can be moved and stored easily. Have used this multiple times and its been easy to wash up (just lift out the large pot and wipe the machine down). In-built recipes - the fact that you can look through the recipe book they provide (which has tonnes of recipe selections - and they are simple recipes too, not ones with lots of ingredients) and select a "base recipe" where it tells you the ingredients and amounts and then adjust it is awesome. My partner is pretty useless in the kitchen as he just doesn't really know what to do and how to use the other appliances. Now he just grabs the recipe book, buys what is needed and when he selects the recipe on the smartcooker it walks him through everything - it's super foolproof. There is also a way to program your own recipes. It sets the correct cooking time for recipes (so if you are using a certain recipe it will tell you to cook/simmer/pressure cook something for a set amount of time and then give you an alert when it's completed). This means things are never over/undercooked. The recipes we have tried from the book have all been delicious. Replacing other appliances - this has not replaced my rice cooker, slow cooker, pressure cooker and even the general stovetop (as you can do things like browning onions, cooking meat, adding in vegs/sauce) in the one pot. You can also do everything in the one pot Pressure Cooker - I haven't really used a pressure cooker much before, and a lot of the time would forget to put things in the slow cooker to leave on for the day. Now I rely on the pressurecooker (if you throw in all the ingredients for a curry in, it takes about 6 minutes to pressure cook it so everything is cooked and soft).

I was so excited to cook with this, the first timer so effortless, and my food turned out yummy.
I cooked a stew recipe from the book supplied, it was scrumptious and tender after 35 mins cooking time. Wow My Partner cooked chicken wings, and he was very happy.

I can finally cook!
I can't cook. It's as simple as that. I have never been able to cook anything and unfortunately my family has suffered because of it. I try but everything seems to be a complete failure.
I came across the Tefal Cook4me+ on a shopping channel and was intrigued. Watched a few more shows and researched on youtube. I was sold!
It looks great straight out of the box. In truth it sat on my bench for months - I was too scared to try it. Then one day I decided to try the chicken risotto - wow! So easy and such a small amount of ingredients. There is...Read more
a huge number of inbuilt recipes to try and the app is great for browsing and consulting when I'm at the supermarket and have forgotten my list. The machine tells you what to do, when to add things and when to open and close the lid. It keeps things warm too which is a nice feature. Cleaning the machine is very easy too. Comes apart easily and the huge bowl is non-stick. Sometimes smells may linger (especially after curries) but they do not stay long and don't interfere with other meals. So far I've cooked risottos, curries and casseroles. The only fail I had was a whole chicken. Everything else has been great which is such a blessing for someone with absolutely no cooking skills at all. I admit I've only used the inbuilt recipes but that's all I need at the moment. I would definitely recommend this product.Purchased in December 2021 for $219.99.

I am so pleased I bought this.
I have used my Tefal Cook4Me about 5 nights a week since purchasing it in May. What I really like about it is you can choose to cook manually with your own ingredients. It is so simple to use. It will brown meat brilliantly before you add vegetables etc. then you can either continue cooking it to your satisfaction or pressure cook it. The recipes included in the memory are great and easy to follow.
Pressure cooked Silverside is great. So tender.
Having the handles on the sides to lift the hot inner pot out makes this a very safe appliance. Others I looked at don’t have this feature and a tea towel is needed to remove the inner pot. Oven mitts don’t work as there is nowhere to grip the sides of the inner bowl. Cook4Me is perfect.

Great when you want a quick tasty dinner.
I work full time so it's great to go home and make a nutritious meal in 30 minutes or less.
So easy to clean and food doesn't stick.
It takes a bit of getting used to if you want to make dinners that aren't in the recipe book. Easy to overcook dishes, but I normally find I need to add up to 5 minutes onto the time they say in the book.
Great as a rice cooker and steaming vegetables.
Once I get to know it better it will be a lifesaver in the kitchen. I would like to see Tefal update the recipes and add new ones on the website as there is not a lot of variety in the recipe book they provide.
Overall a good product for time-poor working people.

Handy Tool and Can Be Useful
I have been using this mulitcooker for the last 3 weeks and have done most of my meals in it. I have enjoyed using it.
Out of the box I did like the look of this item. It looks modern and suited my kitchen well. I love that the lid is hinged onto the mulitcooker so when I open it I'm not looking for somewhere to sit the lid - this was really useful. I also like that the inner bowl has handles, so I could easily lift the bowl out and take it to the bench to serve without needing oven mitts or burning myself. The lid also comes apart easily for ...Read more
extra cleaning when required as well - it is well designed with these features. It also feel well made and not flimsy and feels it will last. I didn't find the lid retained any smells from previous meals. The steam release is automatic in the lid which I loved as I didn't have to stress about trying to open a valve and burning myself, it did it all itself. It also had a loud beep for when it was complete which I could easily hear from anywhere in my house meaning I never missed when it was done. The bowl is non stick and I found after constant use over 3 weeks it still has no marks which impressed me as other non stick items I have used tend to start showing wear marks on the coating even after 2 weeks so I feel this will be a coating that will stay as long as you don't use metal. However I did note the steamer basket included is stainless steel and I did worry it would scratch the bottom of the non stick coating. This didn't happen but I do get nervous when I use it as I don't want to scratch the coating. I found the menu to use on the LCD screen was easy to scroll around. My only downside is I'm a little OCD about things being around the right way and it would annoy me seeing the 'OK' button upside down as that is where it was sitting to press ok to that setting. My husband mentioned the same one night when he saw it was upside down but if he moved it around it would change the menu out of where I wanted to be. However after cooking you can easily turn the button back around the right way. However this wouldn't affect me purchasing this item.Purchased in July 2021.

When can we open a restaurant!
My wife and I have never used a multi/pressure cooker before so we were a little intimidated when we pulled it out of the box. The first meal my wife cooked was a curry and after she tasted it she asked me "when can we open a restaurant" given she was so happy with the taste.
My wife is Vietnamese and enjoys a Thai curry. We ended up cooking some roti bread on the frying pan and had an really enjoyable meal. This is the sort of cooker that you could use to very quickly cook a meal for the family or to use to impress a house full of dinner g...Read more
uests without spending half a day in the kitchen. The quality of food is exceptional. Neither my wife or I grew up cooking meals so we aren't experts in the kitchen but we found the multi-cooker very easy to use and found the instructions easy to follow. The one thing we found about the instructions on the cooked is it only provides instructions one step at a time, however you can view all the instructions at once on the app. We have made a number of main meals and soups, including curries, spaghetti sauces and pumpkin soup. It never produces a smell and keeps the food warm in the cooker which is great if eating meals at different times or entertaining guests. It is also very easy to clean. We live in a small unit and it isn't as small as a toaster so we did need to find somewhere for it to live.Purchased in July 2021.

You Can't Go Wrong
Invented 340 years ago and initially called a steam digester, conventional pressure cookers were made to be used on a stove top. When I was growing up, they were considered highly dangerous, and I was forbidden from entering the kitchen when it was being used. It was a heavy steel pot with gauges and valves on the lid that had to be closely monitored to avoid an explosion. From memory, what came out of it wasn’t very appealing either – stringy corned beef or tripe and overcooked vegetables.
Although electric pressure cookers have been around s...Read more
ince 1991, given my childhood experience they held little appeal to me. It wasn’t until January 2018 during the sales that I bought my first – a Tefal Minut’cook. It didn’t take long and I was hooked, and it quickly became my ‘go-to’ appliance for everything from a roast dinner to pasta sauce. When asked to test drive the Tefal Cook4Me+, I was eager to see if much had changed and I’ve not been disappointed. With its revolutionary design, built in recipes and cooking instructions it’s taken the pressure out of pressure cooking. It’s simple to use and better still, it’s easy to clean. Plus it doesn’t retain smells and apart from a few hisses of steam it’s extremely quiet. The way the pot has been designed to include handles is brilliant and eliminates the risk of burning yourself and the automatic control of the pressure and lid must make it the safest pressure cooker on the market. In fact, it’s probably the safest kitchen appliance I’ve ever used. As well as the built-in recipes, there are more available by using the App. However, the cooking instructions are limited and not much help. The cooking times for these recipes is right on, however I found the preparation times and difficulty ratings were way off. They might be accurate for an accomplished cook but not for an everyday person.Purchased in July 2021 at Ambassador Program.

Good for the simple stuff but foodies beware.
It took us a few days to get started as looked rather imposing and all the safety instructions were a bit scary, but it was actually pretty straight forward and the locking/unlocking mechanism very user friendly. The initial chemical smell with the first use was quite strong and I suggest this be done in a well-ventilated area.
Initial setup:
The dial on the front feels loose and we kept going to touch the display as if it were a touch screen, this was annoying at first, but we got used to it. But it does seem a little old-fashioned and cheap...Read more

Versatile little wonder, especially good for those with limited space or to balance out with traditional cooking
The Cook4me is an electric multi-cooker that not only can roast, cook and steam, it can also be used to cook products such as meat or vegetables under pressure in rapid time. As per the description, it can also cook everything from starters and mains to desserts. In the classic cooking mode, you are able to do gentle cooking, simmering and browning. You can also reheat and keep meals warm.
The handling is quite easy once you get the hang of it. It contains about 150 pre-set recipes that you will get guided through step by step. Every single st...Read more
ep is shown on the display. After using it for a limited time, I can say that I love the versatility, even though the guided cooking is new for me as a self-described hobby chef - as this is quite a contrast to my traditional cooking, which is usually using multiple pots and pans, or a wok and other kitchen utensils. More importantly, I am not even used to using recipes much at all (ha!) and I don't usually shop for ingredients based on recipes, either (since this forces you into buying when things are usually not the cheapest, or it can be challenging to find what you need after choosing a particular recipe). What I normally do instead is buy in bulk the produce in season or what is on special and look for recipes where they can be used, or I simply know what to cook with them. So to combine both cooking concepts, I will need to stay flexible with the recipes. Cooking with this multi-cooker therefore is a completely different set up, which I ended up liking as an alternative to cooking in a more lazy way. The dishes that are coming out of this device are not only a dream in terms of taste, the time savings during the actual cooking is a huge advantage. Simply a great device that will have a permanent place in our kitchen from now on, at least for those days where we don't feel like cooking the traditional way. The Cook4Me+ is well-made and the cooking bowl is wonderfully easy to clean thanks to its Teflon coating. The handling is very simple and almost self-explanatory - but a look in the user manual shows again the full range of what the product can do. The steaming of vegetables is also good for preserving the nutrient content of the food. They came out perfect, not overcooked and not too crunchy!Similar opinion? Write a review on ieatwords.com.au!

I’ve just started using my COOK4ME. I am so impressed with the size as when entertaining my family, I wanted to be able to cook for us all, so with the options of cooking for 2, 4 and 6 – this is perfect.
The options to brown and to keep warm are brilliant! I have a slow cooker and never bother browning meat as it means an extra pan, extra time and effort. With the Tefal COOK4ME, I can do it all in one – perfect!
I also love the ‘keep warm’ function with a partner who often works late, its an absolute blessing.

king time by 2/3rds is awesome and the pressure cooking brings out the flavour in the food like nothing else, simple dishes become gourmet events (not exaggerating). Because it's a closed system, you resist the urge to over-season the food and the natural flavours are the star. On opening the box, I was greeted with the Tefal Cook4Me multicooker, a steam basket, the ceramic coated bowl and user manuals. Aesthetically speaking, I really liked the look of the cooker – although it was larger than I expected, the black gloss contrasted really nicely with the metallic detailing to give an appearance that wouldn’t look out of place in a kitchen featured on Grand Designs. I had a quick flick through the booklets – one of which is a user manual and the other has the ingredients with recipes – and everything looked self-explanatory. As we were nearly out of food in the house, we couldn’t make any of the pre-programmed recipes just yet, but instead, we chose a few recipes which we wanted to make in the upcoming week and added these ingredients to our supermarket online delivery.Purchased in July 2021 for $300.00.

Handy for busy time poor families
I have used it twice making a potato bake and risotto. Amazing it cooks so quickly. Advertised times don’t take into account the time to preheat cooker and letting steam out at the end. And rather than guesstimating quantities I think you need to stick to exact measures with this machine or risk meal not working out too good it would helpful to have alternative suggestions or additional items that can be added. As long as you have all ingredients set out and measured before you start you will be fine, if you don’t it will be a challenge. Also s...Read more

Not very intelligent for an 'intelligent' pressure cooker
I got this for free. My overall initial impressions were good because of the features and options to store your own recipes. The street price is in the low to mid $300 mark. My expectations were high due to the high price. I already had a history of cooking with pressure cookers and rice cookers that span 30 years plus. Previous pressure cookers required fiddling and testing to get the recipe right, i.e. for it not to be under or over cooked. Once you get those parameters right, it works all the time.
The good thing is that the pot inside the ...Read more
cooker has handles to remove the pot. Most other pressure cookers don't have this feature. When opening the lid, the mechanism is conveniently located away from the steam release valve. Great for avoiding scalds. The pre-installed programs appeared 'useful' at the time. As my wife is Asian, we have high expectations when cooking rice. Ideally, it should be moist but not wet, mushy or soggy. My first recipe was white rice. I followed the instructions. I turned out mushy and soggy. On my second time cooking rice, I reduced the water content a little but the rice was still fully covered. An alarm went off telling me that a valve was clogged and then that there wasn't enough water in the machine (see image CODE: 24). How can it be clogged after only one use? Next time, I put more water in it but extended the cooking time to make sure the rice wasn't soggy and mushy. Over time, I achieved various results. Some were acceptable while others were not. My old rice cooker has one button and my rice is always perfect. With the Tefal, it was a hit and miss... more miss though. I successfully cooked pasta but thought that the hassle of setting up and then cleaning the device was far more cumbersome than quickly boiling water in a pot on my stove top. The glitz and glamour of having to press and turn the navigation button soon lost its shine. This afternoon, I made rice once again. When the device had finished, I couldn't open it. It was stuck. I have no idea why. I finally managed to open it with some force. Now it won't close. The rice was fine but it appears that parts in the lid have twisted due to the heat. According to the manual, parts in the lid can twist when hot. Not such a good design after all. In summary, the programs, at least for rice, are useless. The mechanical side is poorly constructed. How can it be clogged after just one use? Why is the lid defective? I am not the sort of person who will run to customer service every few days because of a problem. Either it works or it doesn't. This one doesn't. I'm going back to my hassle-free rice cooker and hassle-free pressure cooker.Purchased in July 2021.

Fantastic machine EXCEPT it’s peeling and under a year old.
I love it, but the customer service is terrible. My mother purchased and gifted me my machine. Sadly she died and Tefal won’t help me with my warranty claim because I can’t provide a receipt. I offered to provide them my mother’s death certificate, but not good enough. Very poor service in such a terrible time. Show a bit of compassion, Tefal. I would obviously provide a receipt or proof of purchase if my mother were here to ask. The machine hadn’t even been released for a year yet, before I contacted the company, so it was definitely within it...Read more

elf as. I am European. I am not offended. My wife is Asian, neither she nor her friends are offended. I only referred to my wife in this review as she eats rice every single day. In fact, we all do, and as such, it was important for this device to cook rice properly and to her and my satisfaction. The email also claimed that I did not conduct a proper review. Even after posting this review, the unit constantly shows error messages. Most recently, it says that it's finalizing the post cooking process although the device has already exceeded the 9 minutes cooking time by 20 minutes. There's no point trying other ingredients or recipes if it can't get rice right. The one successful occasion of cooking pasta was probably a fluke as 80% of the time, the device malfunctions. I don't need to waste precious food to show that there's something wrong with this pressure cooker.
