Ironing made easy

published

Nothing can make ironing fun but this definitely makes the process easier and reduces the ironing time.
The water canister holds about 2 loads of washing before it depletes. The iron itself has good weight with an option to boost continuous steam to melt even the deepest of creases.
Nice lock on the top to prevent it falling off the cradle. Cable tidy is a nice feature as well. Doesn't look half bad either.
Only minor gripe is that there is so much steam generated that condensation can occur on the bottom of the board and drip on to the floor.

I really dislike ironing, but this tefal really helped

published

this tefal iron is a revelation. It is almost intuitive. Takes the guess work out of ironing. they should advertise more to reach out to people like me, who had no idea such a smart iron exists. OK, I will never love ironing, but until I found this product I had not realized that such improvements had been made to irons. Makes my old iron look like a dinosaur.

This has made my life so much easier. In love!

published

The iron takes approximately five minutes to heat up. I don’t have to adjust the temperature as it automatically changes to suit the fabric. Making my life so much easier. The iron is very user friendly and irons my clothes so much quicker and easier. The steam could generate more power. But I’m still very happy with the product.

Saves so much time

published

I used to avoid ironing and let it pile up for weeks, but as I’ve had a child start school this year and I have to iron uniforms I could no longer do this but with small children it’s so hard to find the time. I absolutely love this and I’d bought one sooner. It has cut my ironing time to less than half and makes ironing oddly satisfying. I’ve now got the ironing board out a couple of times a week and have even started ironing things I’ve never ironed before!

Hi how do I descale and clean my iron please?

first and foremost for my Tefal I use a 50:50 mix of the Nobles "Pureau water" and the other half is boiled tap water. And that is the same mix I use too, for cleaning it too. But I am not sure if you can buy Noble's Pureau water outside Australia. Because the tap water in my area is very very hard and unsuitable for my Tefal.
How to Clean Tefal Iron
Empty all liquid from the Tefal iron.
Fill the water reservoir of the iron roughly 2/3 full with white vinegar.
Place a thick cloth or towel onto an ironing board, table or similar flat surface.
Plug the iron in. ...
Hold the iron upright over the towel as the vinegar empties through the iron's plate. ...
Unplug the iron.

OR, depending on your particular Tefal iron:

How do I descale my Tefal Aquaspeed iron?
Place the iron on its heel and leave to heat up for around 5 minutes. Unplug the iron then hold your iron horizontally above the sink. Remove the anti-scale valve (or set the control to self-clean/autoclean depending on the model).
Hope that helps?

Hi Mich C
to answer your question:
one of the Steam generators showing on the current Tefal site as at April 2022 looks almost identical to mine. but yes the number is a tiny bit different. the Tefal number still starts with the number 5 on their website today. Maybe when they tweak the design of the product they change the number a little. In the way that "new" cars are released regularly on to the market but hardly look different to me (not very up on cars). I would not be without one of these Steam Generators and love mine. Maybe speak to your local Tefal sales agent in a store to find out which "new" model best matches the recommended ones available right now. https://www.tefal.com.au/Linen-Care/Steam-Irons/c/steam%2Birons
