burnt offerings each and every time
i purchased the pizza oven hoping that i could stop using my oven. from the beginning there were problems.although i followed the instructions to the letter my first pizza ( a mccains pizza frozen) burned on the bottom and was still frozen on top. subseqent pizzas also turned out the same. i tried making a fresh dough, thin and crispy,it expanded until it spilled out the sides,it burnt on the bottom and was raw on top. i assigned the pizza maker to the cupboard of bad memories. not happy jack

Friday night is pizza night at ours
I have to say this is the one and only kitchen appliance gadget I definitely use regularly and recommend to friends. I have had it for a couple of years and can’t fault it. I have melted the handles in the paddles - my bad, don’t store them in the pizza oven as you’ll forget heat it up and be left with a mess.
I make my own dough and freeze any cooked pizzas uneaten, but that us very often as they are so yummy. The dough is best rolled out and proved on baking paper. You will also need to dock (prick with a fork) the dough so that you don’t get...Read more

Best pizza maker
Love the simplicity and speed of cooking. Pizzas taste authentic because of the stone and its really easy to clean. The only cons would be the size of the paddles but that's no problem, and you need to be careful when opening lid from steam burns, other than that i wouldn't be without one.

Fabulous and versatile
A dream to use, totally love it! Although some people seem to have difficulties using fresh dough with it, I haven't found any problem. A few points to remember though. First, you need to preheat the stone (on high) for 10 to 15 minutes beforehand, so your dough cooks from the underneath while the topping cook from above. Secondly, your stone will get marks on it and will eventually discolor, because you have food directly on it. That is just a fact of life, and it won't affect using the stone. If there are bits stuck to it, just wait for it to...Read more
cool and gently scrape them off with the flat of the pizza paddle. The pizza stone I have used in the standard oven for the past 10 years has a complete dark patina now, and cooks better now than it did in the beginning. Preheating with the pizza oven is far faster and more energy efficient that in a standard oven, even with the pizza oven reaching higher temps than a standard oven, so it is far more economical to use, and with the higher temps you get the nice big open holes in the crust, as with artisanal pizzas. It is also fantastic for cooking pita bread, naans, and tortillas, giving superior results to a standard oven or dry-fry pan, cooking them faster and at higher temps more like the traditional cooking methods. And of course, once again, far more economical in power. If you love homemade pizza - it is well worth it. If you don't touch pizza, but love homemade flatbreads - still worth it. If you love both - you have it made! And if you are on your own, especially if you are in a caravan or small flat, definitely worth it. Can also do toasted sandwiches, grilled cheese, even grilled fish (wrapped in foil or in a shallow-sided 'boat' made with two layers of foil).Similar opinion? Write a review on ieatwords.com.au!

Dream pizza oven
After going through a personal odyssey to make the perfect pizza, I've arrived here - at what appears to be a simple machine. I couldn't afford a brick built wood fired oven so for years I persevered with the kitchen oven, adjusting the recipes to account for the foibles in the oven, but never really getting there.
I bought the window version and put my first pizza in, avidly watching the window. To my disbelief the cheese started bubbling immediately. I had the thing turned up to the maximum. The cheese was bubbling so furiously it ap...Read more
peared to reach a state of nuclear fusion. When I took it out the cheese was bubbling madly still and I promptly dropped it on the floor, face down of course. My next pizza was very modest in response, respecting the power of this beast. I cooked at a third of the previous setting. Even then in just five minutes out pops a pizza I would happily pay $20 for at a cafeteria. Perfect toppings, and a satisfyingly crispy base. Whilst I'm sorry I sent the first pizza to a kind of fiery hell, this is like the Ferrari of pizza making; you've got to learn to handle the power. In all seriousness, I'm at the end of my journey now. Perfect pizza in 5 minutes. A lot of parks have power outlets and the unit is very portable - pizza by the beach anyone? Pro tip - always use baking paper.Similar opinion? Write a review on ieatwords.com.au!

Makes great pizza, definitely worth it.
Single function cookers can be a bit gimmicky and sit in a cupboard unused, but having used this a few times I can say that I will definitely make frequent use of it. It can be awkward to work with fresh dough, but it works very well once you get the hang of it and you can use it for improved frozen pizzas as well.
One quirk I wasn't expecting though - the timer doesn't actually turn the power off, just dings a bell. This is unusual and should definitely have been mentioned in the instructions to avoid the risk of burning your pizzas to a crisp.

A worthy addition to our kitchen
I really agonised about buying The Pizza Maker. What if it sat in our cupboards unused like our waffle maker, or the chocolate fountain or the ice-cream maker? I needn't have worried. We use the pizza maker nearly every Friday night and it cooks pizzas FANTASTICALLY. The bases are crisp, and the top is cooked perfectly. This appliance has paid for itself tenfold. I highly recommend it. PS I notice that one of the other reviewers has said that it doesn't cook home made dough properly. That may well be so. We only ever use store bought pizza bases.

Love the black one with viewing window and deep dish
I bought the New Wave Multi-functional pizza maker (NWKA The Pizza Maker) 3 months ago and have found it to be a very useful and much-used machine. The black one has a viewing window and comes with a removable stone and a non-stick deep dish. I have found that pizzas cooked on the stone cook much better than ones I've made in the oven and take only 5-7 minutes. They smell and taste fantastic! I make my own dough and have also had success using alternative bases made with cauliflower, cassava flour and almond meal etc. The deep dish can be used...Read more
with lid closed to cook dishes such as frittatas or with lid open it functions as a non-stick frypan to cook pancakes, rissoles etc. We roll out each pizza on a piece of baking paper, cutting around it to remove excess paper (which might burn), add the toppings, then slide the pizza with paper onto the pizza stone, which is easier than just using the paddles. It is important not to pile up the filling too high or else cheese and other ingredients may melt onto the top heating coil. My only concern is that the pizza oven does not turn itself off when the timer is finished, and you need to remember to manually turn the temperature knob to zero once you are finished with the machine. We usually eat close to where we make the pizzas so I can smell cheese burning on the stone when I have left the pizza oven turned on. It would also be great if you could control the top and bottom heating elements separately, but I guess that would put the price up considerably. All in all this is a great little machine that works well and is good value for money!Similar opinion? Write a review on ieatwords.com.au!

Love this Pizza Oven
I have had this pizza oven for 2 years and it totally awesome. We use it at least 2 times a month and it has made too many pizzas to count. They turn out perfectly cooked every time and so quickly. We were considering getting an outside pizza oven but honestly we don't need to anymore as this is so easy and quick to use. I highly recommend this pizza oven.

Finally, perfect pizzas at home!
The Pizza Maker is the best way to make pizzas at home quickly and easily. The base ends up perfectly crisp with everything beautifully cooked and melted on top. Works with a range of pizza bases including really thin low carb and gluten free wraps for a completely guilty free, healthy and delicious experience. Also great for vegan pizzas. It will pay for itself in no time because you won't bother with shop bought pizzas again!

Fantastic pizza maker
We bought this recently after reading all the reviews and we're not disappointed. We make our own dough and the pizzas are great. Well worth the $$.
We need to buy a few paddles (it came with two aluminium ones). I'm leaning towards wood - does it burn much? Or maybe stainless steel?

Best pizza cooker on the market.
I owned a pizza shop for 7 years, this is as close as you can get to the same result. I have owned one of these for 8 years & still use it about once every two weeks. I noticed some reviewers having difficulty, you need to roll your dough to size, place it on the two paddles, make your toppings, carry over to already heated pizza oven, then gently slide both paddles away and gently place your pizza on the stone.

Best pizzas are home made pizzas
My unit which is exactly the same as this came with 2 bamboo paddles to put the pizza on which then allows you to slide the topped raw home made dough onto the pizza stone. It also means you can prep the next pizza whilst one is cooking. Never had a problem with burning my fingers or getting the pizza on or off the stone. You can also buy huge pizza spatulas which would solve your problem.

Doesn't live up to the hype
I've had this pizza oven for a couple of years now and was swayed by all the positive online reviews but for me it just hasn't lived up to all the hype. It probably works well if you use store bought pizza bases but if you like to make your own dough then it is a struggle. The recipe book suggests placing your dough on the warm stone and then adding the toppings but this is impossible. Firstly it is very hard to move raw dough from the benchtop to the stone and then roll it out. Also it is easy to burn your fingers on the element when addin...Read more
g the toppings. It is also difficult to clean as the stone cannot be removed so food tends to get stuck on the stone and in the some of the crevasses around it and the lid. If you're only going to cook store bought bases then it's probably a great little unit but if you like doing homemade ones then I'd go for a model with a removable stone.Similar opinion? Fast to cook and with nice crispy crust
Pizza ready in minutes once loaded. Crust is not soggy and not too crispy. Only negative is knowing how to get the pizza base onto the hot stone and then adding all the topping without base cooking already - or burning your fingers. Or maybe make the pizza base thick enough that transferring it to the hot pizza stone is easier. But a good product that I am glad I purchased. yummmmm, Pizza !!!!!!

Love, Love, Love it.
I was a little dubious about purchasing it. The reviews in general on all pizza ovens wasn't that great. But after using it, I am delighted. The crust was crisp and I used fresh home made dough. We made 5 pizzas in a row that first night and each pizza took only approx 5-7 minutes to cook. I will never buy a takeaway or store bought pizza again. The best kitchen appliance I have ever bought! (Just a quick tip that I have found really useful... Use baking paper to make your pizza on.. Cut the paper larger than the pizza so you Can easily lift ...Read more

Good little unit
Have had my Pizza Oven for over 3 years now . Makes excellent pizzas once you figure out the correct settings/sequence. The only improvement that I would suggest is if the unit had individual controllers for the top and bottom elements. Sometimes my base will cook too quickly on the stone. I have adapted my technique to compensate but more control of the elements would make this little beauty perfect.

Works like a charm, cooks lovely crisp pizzas
I've had this for a few months now and use it at least once a week. It takes some practice to get the timing and temperature sorted but once that has been achieved it makes very quick pizzas that taste great.
I preheat on setting 1 which takes about 7 minutes, put the pizza onto the stone, turn the heat up to 2 and rotate the pizza after two and a half minutes, cook for another two and a half. Thin bases need watching to stop them burning.

Hi I just left the paddles inside my pizza maker! So they are now burnt. Can I get replacements?
1 answer
Snap so did I sadly.
Mine weren’t too badly deformed so they do work in a fashion. I find I don’t use them as I put the pizza dough/base on baking paper and use that to lift it in and out of the oven.

What size pizza is this suited for?
2 answers
Hi, The cooked pizza size would be a maximum of your average dinner plate. You can make smaller ones of course. Most of the pre-made pizza bases fit in or slightly larger than your regular sized tortilla.
Enjoy!!
Thank you. Dinner plates differ in size. However, inches are inches and cm are cm. How many inches? How many cm?
