I was going to make the white sauce tonight but my machine was jumping around everywhere when it was at speed 4. Does anyone know what this problem might be caused by?
1 answer
Hi Kate, maybe make sure it is sitting securely on a flat surface. Mine does this sometimes depending on what it is I'm trying to make so when I have big/bulky things it's trying to move around this normally happens to me.(normally a higher speed though.is it due for a service?

When I use my machine to cook, it sticks

Does the food stick or do the blades stick. If it’s the blades they may be bent. If the food sticks it may be that temp is too high or you are cooking the food too long.
The food sticks to the bottom of the bowl and starts to burn. This is for risotto, and mashed potatoes etc.

Hi there, my TM 31 won't heat up at all... just made bechamel sauce, and it ended up a curdled mess of cold mush in the bottom of the bowl. The bowl wasn't hot at all. Any clues of what's happening? Thanks

I had the same issue. All functions were working except heat. I have a 2nd jug so knew it wasn't jug issue because it happened on both. I had to get a new motherboard.. Unfortunately TM service department is terrible it took 2 attempts and many phone calls and 2 months for it to be fixed.

Hey. I have the TM 3 and my blades are not moving at all. I can hear the motor working but not the blades. Any advice please? Thanks
1 answer
It sounds like your blade has stripped. It’s designed to strip over time rather than damage the shaft going down to the motor. It’s an easy fix for a new blade as you can swap it yourself after you order a new one. $115 I think.

Can I mill brown rice as per instructions in the everyday cook book without the temperature coming on. So 250 gm brown rice, 2 mins at speed 9, temperature rises to 50 before I finish, I’m wondering if the warm rice flour will not keep well.
Cheers

I have milled brown rice without heat and had no problems :)
Unless you actually turn the heat on you can mill with out the heat. If you are using the TM5 with a recipe via the chip or cook key then just swap to the manual settings to suit your requirements.
I have TM31, seems the heat automatically starts, cant see where to turn it off/on.
Cheers

Is there a "lock" mode for travel for the TM31?

I have inherited a TM31 and the first thing I did was order a green sealing ring from ThermoMix Australia.
I am reasonably certain that I have fitted it correctly although it did appear to be slightly oversized but still managed to get it to 'click' into place on the three click points in the lid.
Now it is extremely hard to close the lid, I can get it to close but it is really hard to get it to close fully.
What have I done wrong?

The seal system is entirely different with the TM5 as it is a stationary seal. I would Phone Thermomix on 1800 004 838 they are very helpful and will help you out
The green seal is a tighter fit, but it will loosen off. I ran my lid and seal through the dishwasher a couple of times and that seemed to help.

Hi, My thermomix TM31 the front panel "Start Push Button" was damage. Where can I purchase the rubber push button spare part or I need to purchase the whole front panel for the replacement? Please advise.

I just inherited a TM31 from someone. I now found out that it was bought during the time period in 2014 which can be potentially faulty machine. The person who gave it to me has used it from 2014 to 2018 with no concerns. After I inherited the machine, I read the safety concerns in detail and now I am worried about using it. Seems like a waste to throw it away. Were ALL the machines in that time period faulty?

They replaced the rubber seal in the lid with a new once which addressed the safety issue. If it has a green ring it should be fine provided you use it in accordance with the operating instructions. If not, contact them to replace it. https://www.facebook.com/thermomixinaustralia/posts/replacement-sealing-rings:-vorwerk-elektrowerke/789522371090025/
absolutely don't throw it away !!!!!!! these machines are awesome. it doesn't matter if you have the tm21 or the tm5 . it is like everything, if used correctly it will be fine. I would contact a consultant in your area so they can show you how to use it correctly . there are a lot of facebook sites also that can help you out with hints, tips and recipes . you will love it . have fun !!!!!!!!
Thank you so much Microbel and Olenka. Much appreciated. Was delighted to see the green ring. And have started using it. I LOVE it!
