It’s good but not value for money
I do like my thermomix because it does makes some recipes really easy, but, the novelty wore of quickly for me. I personally don’t think it is great value for money. I’ve had mine since 2015 so about 5 years. It is bulky so will take up a bit of bench space (plus the extra room you need for any prep you need for the recipe). I have found the numbers to the computerised scales and dials jump when being used. I’ve had other friends say they sent theirs in for a service when this happened but they’ve had theirs 2+ years longer and use it every day...Read more
2-3 times a day. Disappointing mine happened after minimal use, and for some people it doesn’t happen at all. The bowel size is good for cooking for about 4 adults, depending on the recipe, but if catering for more than 4 people you may have to cook double batches. But keep in mind some recipes can have 30 minutes of prep and hour+ of cooking time. - I like the measurement indicators inside the bowl. - I don’t like how smells from previously cooked recipes linger so strongly in the bowl, even after pulling it apart, washing and drying. - I also don’t like how foods and residue stick to the bottom of the bowl so easily. Some people recommend doing a deep clean with egg shells etc to get ride of the residue but personally if I am cleaning something I’d like it to just be clean the first time without having to take more time to clean it again. The TM5 has the recipe chips which are very convenient as you can just follow the steps on the machine. There is also a recipe community page, I personally don’t use it as I’ve been caught out by too many dud recipes that fail, or, don’t taste as great as the reviews would make out, as anyone can make a recipe and post it to the community page. Again I have other friends say they love the recipe community, and others like me who rarely use the site. Overall it’s personal preference, you’re either going to buy it, love it, use it everyday and wonder how you managed without it, or, you’ll let it collect dust and get it out every now and then to whip up a quick rice cream pudding or boil some eggs.Purchased in November 2021.

Love it!
Love my Thermomix. I’ve used it for two years now for countless recipes especially the basics: yoghurt, smoothies, dough, rice, pestos and mash. Not to mention desserts and regular meals.

No customer service whatsoever - terrible experience: 1500 bucks in the thrash
I got the Thermomix TM5, and everything was fine, but after a month there must have been an update and the recipes proposed and the units are now from the USA. However I am French and I do not want to cook using this unit system and recipes in English. It looks like a bug, and it has been almost 6 months that I cannot use it properly, the brand does nothing to help me even after my numerous emails.
The situation is stuck like this, the only contact I get from them is an automated email every month that assures me that they are "sorry and that...Read more
this delay does not correspond to their standards", but after so long waiting hopelessly, I am forced to realize that this is their standards and that my money is forever wasted. They have not done anything for me but to make me sit in a corner waiting like an idiot. I would recommend you take my money and put it in a brand that actually cares about its customers. This is what I will do next time for sure.Similar opinion? Write a review on ieatwords.com.au!

Amazing product! Worth every cent
This product is fantastic. Its great for busy mums who have little kids. I can boil rice, steam veges, cook pasta all without having to stand around the stove - I just set it and forget about it. Obviously you can do alot more with it but sometimes its the simple things that are worth it!

Couldn’t cook without it
I was so sceptical of anyone trying to sell these. I thought it have all the appliances that do everything it can’ but wow, was my mind changed?! I use my thermomix EVERYDAY. I make all my own nut butters where others food processors would overheat and die. I use the thermomix to make a lot of raw foods. Absolutely adore it!
Purchased in February 2021 for A$2,500.00.

waste of money!!!
I got the Tm5 only from 3 years and this how it look like now. The crack on the arms of the Thermomix stat to appear after 1 year only but they were quit small. Slowly slowly they are start to expand. The crack under the display it recent. The burn mark on the bowl base just happen 3 weeks ago. the scale stop work properly after few month and the time bottom jump the numbers. I did contact the costumers service where they suggest to send my TM5 to the repairs department for 99. but they will not guaranty me that the damage will be repair. And i...Read more
f so, will cost me more money looking the nature of the damage. They do not know why my Tm5 got those damage and when I suggested that maybe my Thermomix had some manufacture faulty, they denied. At some point the manager of the customer service said that the crack on the arms appear because I remove and replace the bowl to many times! Is that what we suppose to do when we want to transfer the food from the bowl to the plate??? What about the crack on the base of the scream? What about the Burn that appear on the bowl base??? They could not give me an answer. They were keeping repeat to send the thermomix to repair for cost of 99.00 pound. The customers service is awful. They never said that they were sorry for the damage of for the stress I was going through. They never suggest any other solution to my problem rather then send the Tm5 for a repair that cost me money. It really look like they are only interested on making more money rather than making a customer happy!!! I am very angry for the way they manage my problem and I can not suggest to anyone to by the Thermomix.Purchased for A$1,200.00.

After service is appalling
These guys will take your money and then walk away. I have attempted to contact Thermomix 4 times to get my scales fixed as they are completely broken and have been for 18 months (a common issues with this particular model if you google online) and never hear back. I have been now left with no choice but to contact the Ombudsman for assistance. These guys are terrible with customer service and I would not recommend forking out the money for a machine because while it works it may be amazing but if it breaks - you will never hear back from them and you will be ghosted.

I got caught up in the hype - remember - it ONLY does 'wet' food....
This is a super machine for blending, processing & cooking 'wet' foods, but otherwise, it's an expensive gimmick. I got super caught up in the hype & demo & bought one when they were on 'sale' at $1800. I've since made some delicious soups, stroganoffs, stews, curries, etc. But you need to keep in mind it only does wet food. There are only so many stews, soups, strogs & risottos you can eat in a week before you start to crave a good steak & salad, baked dinner or solid food that's not slop. Apparently it's good for cake mix & bread, but as I do...Read more
n't eat either, it's a very expensive soup machine. Also, even though it's great at chopping, processing & constantly stirring food to lock in flavours whilst cooking, it also has blades that 'stir' all of your food, so, even in reverse mode, diced chicken curry turns into curry with minced chicken. Minestrone with chunky veg turns into a blended mush soup. The blades unfortunately cut everything as they stir, so it's hard to ever make anything substantial or not mushy. If you have the disposable income & are happy to have an expensive kitchen machine that will help here & there, by all means, get one. Otherwise, maybe not.Purchased in June 2021 for A$1,800.00.

My Thermomix has well and truly paid for itself
I purchased my Thermomix with the intent of reducing our grocery bill and decreasing the processed foods in our household. I can honestly say that this definitely happened. I learn't to make a lot of basics from scratch by speaking to my consultant, utilising the Thermomix resources and Cook Key, and also by sourcing from the various third party recipe developers for Thermomix such as Skinny Mixers. My husband was initially against this purchase but within 6 months he was admitting that it was one of the best house appliance purchases we had ma...Read more
de. It is not a difficult machine to use but you do not need to stick to Thermomix recipes for a little while to learn the machine and get a feel for the functions before you go and start doing your own recipes. It didn't initially save time however once I became confident in using it it definitely cuts down the time it takes to cook dinner and prepare snacks/baking for the week. I even regularly bake my own bread.Purchased in July 2021 for A$2,089.00.

It’s a decent machine but should be more reliable for this amount of money.
In my case I’ve already spent over $1000 for servicing. The scale broke multiple times and the software is really laggy. It freezes for a few seconds at least 2-3 times each day since the software update a year ago. I paid for a service to look at the software, they always take around $100 for it but is again is slow when I can back home so I’m basically wasting money. For a machine valued $2100 it should be more reliable. If it breaks another time I’ll throw it away and buy an Aldi equivalent for $300. And the Cookidoo disconnects on high spee...Read more

Does it’s job
I like it enough to use it everyday but I think it’s rather overhyped and it’s just a passing fad. If money permits I think it’s a good machine to have though.

Good but not worth the price tag in my opinion
I do enjoy using my Thermomix, I do think it's great, but if I'm completely honest, I don't think they are worth the price tag. There are still plenty of things I prefer to cook stove top or in the oven, having said that, it has made cooking or preparing foods easier.

Excellent time saver, love the guided cooking
I bought my TM5 back in April when the special clearance was on, so managed to pick it up at a bargain price that included the cook key, an extra bowl and a 6 month subscription to the cookidoo website.
So far, the machine has done everything I have asked of it.
I particularly like the guided cooking as the settings are pretty much automatic and the instructions are very clear.
The cookidoo website is good. I love that I can pop the recipes into the weekly calendar but I do have some advice. If you are going to 'save' recipes to it, save them ...Read more
to the last available day of the week, even if you really plan on cooking it earlier. That way it won't disappear from your list if for some reason you don't get around to making it exactly when you plan to. I probably don't use the TM5 as much as I should, but I do appreciate the time savings. For instance, often while it is making the soup or the custard or whatever, you have a clearly defined time to go and do something else. If the timer shows it is cooking for 10 minutes, that is usually enough time to wash up the dishes used in preparation and wipe down benches etc I made apple shortcake yesterday and loved that the shortcake pastry came out already kneaded and perfect consistency. The custard I also made was a breeze, no need to stir or watch. I was also amazed by how it can turn lemon zest into a fine powder for the Portuguese tart recipe. Excellent.Purchased in April 2021 at consultant for A$1,839.00.

Thermomix TM5 - "Ownership and Afterservice"
I previously owned the TM31 (the problematic one that needed the green seal). I have now had the TM5 for just on two years.
I love my new TM5 and do a lot of experimenting with it compared to the TM31 which mainly sat in the corner on the bench for years doing little. The reason, the TM5 is user friendly and I was lucky that the person who sold me the TM5 is very passionate about the Thermomix. Having a consultant who took the time to show me how to use it by cooking recipes on initial purchase and continually sharing information via a monthl...Read more
y newsletter makes you want to experiment and not leave it unused sitting on the bench corner. A good consultant definitely makes a difference. Yes, have had problems with my TM5. #1- arm made unusual noises on opening and shutting. #2 when dialing up time the dial was all over the place. Even with these faults I was able to continue using the machine. I have never had a problem with my scales as I have it sitting on a carpet backed tile enabling me to move it around with ease. Cleudo's to Thermomix Balcatta who were excellent in their aftercare back-up service. Both times initially, suggestions were given over the phone, (I live many hours from Perth) to see if the problems could be fixed. I also sent a video clip via the link on their site to assist in diagnosing the problem (this was very easy to do). As neither fault could be fixed over the phone it was recommended I drop it off at their service centre. Both times it was serviced under warranty in a very quick turnaround time. Thermomix also offered to organise the transport of my machine to Perth. Once again this is where a good consultant comes in handy with a box to lend for transporting of the machine. I was going to Perth at the time, so I am unable to comment on how smooth the transportation process is if sending by courier, organised by Thermomix. My experience with Thermomix "aftercare" has been excellent. As aftercare is a big factor in my decision of whether or not to buy an item I thought it worth letting people know that Thermomix have definitely stepped up on this occasion.Purchased in September 2021 at Thermomix for A$2,009.00.

Love it
I purchased my TM5 18 months ago and love it. I set the timer and go off and do other things knowing if I get sidetracked it wont burn, boil over or otherwise spoil. Like all recipes you pick and choose the ones you like. The food is tasty and perfectly cooked and making dough has never been so easy. The TM6 is out now, and I hear it is even better!!

Love ‘em or hate ‘em...I love ‘em!!
I’m continually amazed at the power of this product. I’ve had mine for about 2 years and it still surprises me.
I previously had a non-branded thermal cooker which was heavy and hard to clean and eventually stopped working after only a short time.
The possibilities are endless with the Thermomix. I can create a different cuisine every night.
It makes the smoothest purées and I love that it can spin the blades in reverse for cooking a casserole.
The only thing that annoys me a little is that sometimes it can be hard to scrape your mixture out if you’ve made say brownies or something with a thick sticky consistency.
Other than that, it’s like my sou chef!

Awesome all round machine
I have the thermomix tm5, to say I love it is an understatement!
I use my thermomix almost daily and since owning it it has changed my family’s eating habits dramatically.
I no longer buy jar or packet food as my thermomix makes everything from scratch!
Perfect if you have allergies and need a specialised diet you can mil your own grains or rice flour, you can be as adventurous as you want and make things that you never thought possible!
The Tm5 weighs/stirs/blends/heats and so much more, it has a great 2ltr capacity and cooks enough food for my family of 8
The price is quite high, but it has paid for itself in no time at all and I would be lost with out it
