Administration fee Rip off!
Purchasing our TM6.. I looked at the invoice and I couldn't believe a $50 administration fee!!! It's expensive enough that they charge you $50 for sending a couple of emails come on!! Buyer beware of hidden costs!!

Saved my love for cooking!
After our family grew with foster children and a child with high complex needs and cerebral palsy, my time was taken up and we found we ate more takeaway and I hated being in the kitchen. I had previously loved cooking and baking. We made the dive and got the TM6 and it has been a life saver! We are eating yummy healthy meals again and I have even made bread rolls and desserts I would never had made before.

Good product, terrible company and no availability of additional key parts
The TM6 is my first thermomix and I am happy that I decided to purchase one. It’s really great to be able to cook from scratch with not much more effort than using brought products, and the food is mostly pretty good (but add a heap more seasoning than the Cookidoo recipe suggests). Note that if you have allergens, the blades can be quite hard to clean and it’s time consuming to get every trace if you need to do so.
My issue lies with the company itself. In Australia, thermomix supply is controlled by one supplier, and that supplier runs the ...Read more
Australian distribution as an MLM. That is pretty well known, so most people know that going in. My consultant was average at best, he would not do a cooking demonstration because my allergies were too hard to cater for (but in the next breath said it’s great for allergies). At the time of purchase, it was unknown when a second additional bowl would be available to purchase. As at January 1, 2020, the bowls have been released, but are are only available to those who host a cooking experience . So you have to have an MLM consultant demonstrate to you and your friends the use of a machine you already own and paid $2300 for (and your friends probably don’t want to buy, otherwise they would already have one) in order to purchase additional parts for it. I expected the after sales service to be better, and for me to be able to give them money for additional parts without having to submit myself again to their MLM structure.Purchased in May 2021 for A$2,269.00.

I love my Thermie
I had looked at purchasing a thermomix but was undecided due to the cost and the number of cases of injuries reported in the news.
A friend was having a cooking experience and I sort of invited myself along. It was easy to use, easy to follow the guided recipe (Cookidoo), easy to clean and the Brazilian Cheese puffs and mushroom risotto were delicious.
The cost still held me back. $2200+ is a lot of money if it was just going to sit on my bench.
Another friend planned a cooking experience and I asked to come along. Again I was in love with t...Read more

Great piece of equipment but I dont use it
From my experience it has great build quality. It works well and cooks some things better than I would dream of.
On the other hand its $2000. Dont be foxed, if you are buying this to help in the kitchen and get sold on the idea that you can do everything from scratch, both of those ideas dont happen at the same time. There are some great things it makes like mashed potato and bread but you still need the oven for the latter.
I bought it about 5 years ago and its still going well but have only used it a maximum 20 times. Not worth the money in...Read more
the fact that I dont use it. Do not buy this thing thinking you will change your behaviour for it. Buy this if you are already using a food processor for what this does and you already have the habits this appliance thrives off and makes easier.Purchased in January 2021.

Essential part of my kitchen
I love my TM6. I’ve made risotto, numerous saucy meals, meatballs, divine yoghurt, pasta, rice, cakes, cookies, smoothies, butter, lemon curd, caramelised onion, coleslaw and other salads, steamed veges and mashed potatoes and I feel I’ve barely scratched the surface in terms of what I can do with it. I have found that food cooks well and evenly and the results are very consistent. There’s no escaping that it’s very expensive but I feel I am getting my money’s worth. I enjoy cooking with it when before I was pretty uninspired in the kitchen.

Customer Service is lacking
We decided to purchase a Thermomix TM6 after an extensive period of research and speaking to friends and colleagues, as well as having an in-home demonstration. During our due diligence we were concerned around the reports of poor reliability in some units but were assured by our consultant that Thermomix had excellent customer care. Our minds more at ease we went ahead with our purchase and were advised to start planning our menu.
Unfortunately, on the initial installation of the device, there was a malfunction. The "scales" function was prov...Read more
iding wayward readings despite restarting, re-positioning, adjusting the power cord, etc. Our consultant advised that this constituted "a major failure", and Thermomix would replace our unit by over-nighting a new TM6 base to us as this is what they had done previously for another client. Apologetically, she informed us the next day that Thermomix would not honour this remedial action and we were to instead return the unit to Thermomix for investigation and "possible repair/replacement". When I contacted Thermomix directly advising we wanted an immediate replacement (as you do, after spending $2269 on a device and being assured of robust customer care, only to be disappointed when the device malfunctions moments after being unpacked), I received a standard response of returning the device for repair/replacement. An abrasive customer services agent could not give an indication as to how long the device would need to be assessed, nor how long it would take for a new unit to be returned. She was unwilling to put me through to her supervisor and I had to await their response. A supervisor only responded to me after a further two days, and only after which I had to chase them for feedback. Whilst the device itself performs admirably when it comes to cooking/churning/mixing/grinding, etc. our experience has been soured by an apathetic customer services department in which I have little faith. If you're considering a Thermomix I would caution you to take promises of excellent after-sales service at face value. I also would hope you get lucky with a device that performs as intended so that you don't need to subject yourself to emails and phonecalls and no satisfactory resolution. Ultimately, our machine was fixed locally by unaffiliated appliance repairman...Purchased in September 2021 for A$2,269.00.

Breaks down
this product has broken down three times - as a customer you end up spending a lot of money on parts and mailing. I would recommend getting a cheaper product.
it's a good blender.

Absolute time saver
LOVE this machine. Makes food prep so much easier and far less messy. What used to take a whole weekend of bulk prepping for school lunches and fast dinners now takes a few hours. And also makes cooking meals we never would have tried to make at home so much easier. We’ve had it for over 12 months and are still learning new things it’s capable of. Winner!

TM 6 - Love it
I have had my new machine approximately one month now & I am loving it. With the Cookidoo built it and connecting via Wifi to my Internet, cooking is a breeze. I have had the TM 31 for 12 years - it has not missed a beat but thought I would upgrade to the new model. The recipes available on Cookidoo is phenomenal. Have the App on my phone, so that makes shopping a breeze for ingredients. So glad I have purchased the new model, I just love it.

the complaints about customer service is the reason I won't be buying one today..a shame but I refuse to be treated like trash once you have my money, which seems to be a common theme.

Can I save my own recipes to my Tm6 collection if so, how to I do this?
1 answer
no not at this stage, however there are apps like paprika and copymethat that allow you to save your own recipes that aren't on cookidoo or the Thermomix recipe community.
