Agressive All Terrains - Awesome!
I was after some tyres that were one size bigger than standard on my Colorado 7. I also wanted deep chunky tread without going for a Mud Tyre. These ticked all of the boxes. They provide very good grip when off road and i can't fault the on road performance. There is a very small amount of road noise at high speed on hotmix tar, but thats about it.

Excellent long distance tyre
I love these tyres. I put them on my 78-series Troopy (skinny spilt-rims) just before heading off from Melbourne on a six month trip. My family and I have been up through the Territory, across the top of WA, down the coast, and are just about home after crossing the Nullabor. We're yet to have a problem with these tyres and haven't been stuck once. We've been on hard, rocky, dirt tracks, crossed creeks and rivers up in Kakadu, and been in pretty heavy beach sand in WA (20 psi), and as mentioned, the tyres have been excellent. They don't look like they've worn much over 20,000 kms. I'm thinking of buying the MT version for muddy Vic. tracks next year.

These are a great mid range priced tyre.
I fitted a set of these types recently and I was a little sceptical when i saw them on the 4WD as I thought that they may have been noisy due to their block design. I was absolute wrong in my fears. They are a great tyre, they are quieter at speed on the highway than my previous Goodyears, I feel that they are better in the wet, and are better stopping on a wet or dry road. cant comment on their off- road performance, as I use my 4WD for towing My 3.1 tonne Caravan

So far so good
Toyota prado 120 series. 265/65 R17 tyres.
Currently toyo Open Country A/T II.
Very happy with them at this point.
Initially had the stock dunlops, which are widely known to squeal when the age. Swapped to Pirelli scorpians which performed really well in sand, road and dirt track work. Net Swapped to Cooper AT3 for a trip out to the simpson, lots of sandwork etc. Initially I was impressed with them offroad, however, when they got 30000km on them they became extremely dangerous on wet roads, shocking issues with understear going into corners ...Read more

UNSAFE UNRELIABLE
I was a dedicated Toyo customer. Purchased first set in 1987 for trip through Aust. and up the cape. Never let me down. Another set, fantastic. 3rd set, 2 tyres blew with heaps of thread left. Went over to Kumho kl78 which had not let me down.
Dec 2015 tyre dealer talked me into going back to Toyo Open Country A/T11. 5 1/2 weeks ago one tyre developed a slow leak, which I inflated till I got it back to the dealer. To our amazement the inside of the tyre out of view has completely let go approx 2'' from around the rim.
Toyo have apparently in...Read more

OK Tyre
Bought my first set 265/65/17 AT2 in February 2016 for a 08 Prado as replacement for worn BFG KO.Felt OK on road and offroad, seemed lighter on turns. Did over 20000 kms doing a lap of OZ towing a 2.1 tonne van, bitumen and dirt and some tracks.handled it OK. Tyres made a funny whine at about 100kph little like a diff whine.
Sold Prado in Nov 16 and didnt have them on long enough to notice abnormal wear.
Bought a new Ranger 4x4 D/Cab fitted them again same size, same noise.I can hear it thru the cab but only in the background .BUT where can you buy a 120 load load rating made in Japan for $240 fitted in OZ.
Good tyre for the price

Great replacement for stock tyres
Needed to replace my worn-out Bridgestone HT tyres (original fit) to my Isuzu D-Max. (They weren't too bad.) I looked for Light Truck tyres as I am now towing a 20ft caravan and wanted tyres with thicker side walls to take increased weight as well as being able to go 4WD'ing when off hitched. I can't be more pleased. A great tyre for towing and 4WD'ing. They have an aggressive tyre pattern but aren't noisy. They're also brilliant for road grip in the wet. Would definitely buy again next time.

Dangerous
No traction in wet. Compound has gone hard and they are useless. Message toyo and all they could say is all A/T tyres are like that, I have driven on so many different tyres on 4x4 and these are the worst. Coopers out perform easy. Customer care was a joke. Bought 2 years ago and they are so crazed and cracked people ask why I put old tyres on a new car. Don't waste your money.

Better Fuel economy, amazing grip, great wear.
I'd give 5x stars but the Toyo OCATII's have a little too much road noise for an All terrain tyre - think halfway between an AT and a Mud tyre.
However they make up for it with rediculously good grip - I was teaching my "L" plater son about the consequences of hitting corners too hard and what would happen if you hit gravel half way around a corner when going too fast ...... the Toyo's made me look stupid.
Found a deserted bitumen road with a dirt side road and drove the Patrol into the 90deg corner at 30kph expecting it to lose grip and und...Read more

Happy Jan
Purchased a set of Toyo Open Country A/T II in Adelaide and drove back to Bundaberg towing a 3 ton caravan via the coast road. Very happy with the performance, especially when it was raining all the way from Melbourne to Sydney. Also very happy with the purchase price and service from Tyrepower in Gawler.

Didn't even get off-road before they failed.
- My tyres have traveled just over 10,000km.
- This is the third set of tyres I've had for my land cruiser, previous two sets were OEM Bridgestone road tyres which were fine for what they were.
- I wanted to buy an "off-road" tyre more suited to the landcruiser
Bought a set of A/T II for my Landcruiser 200 and wish I'd bought the BFG's like everyone advised me to do. Toyo shout from the hilltops the A/T are stronger than a small truck tyre but my experience is the exact opposite. In fact I didn't even get off-road before one tyre suffered ...Read more
damage (no idea how). I don't mount kerbs, hit gutters (no rim rash on any wheel after 140,000km) or drive harshly. Despite this one of the tyres has a split which Toyo are not willing to even inspect before refusing to replace - that's right, not only did I have to call them three times without response but they didn't bother to inspect the tyre. How these tyres are supposed to handle the outback is beyond me if they can't handle driving the streets and highways. Before you spend your hard earned on a set of this rubbish consider why everyone and their dog buys BFG's. I'm a VERY fair reviewer and I'll provide both positive and negative reviews - I'm happy to say I will NEVER buy Toyo products again due to their quality and dismissive response to my concerns. UPDATE After a bit of kicking and screaming the TOYO rep came to my house to check the tyre in person. Though he assured me the tyre wasn't a safety issue he offered to replace it as a gesture of goodwill.1 comment

Fantastic tyres
Have had these tyres on my GX Prado for around 40, 000kms now.
Running them in a LT245/75 R17. Have been a great tyre in various conditions.
Still have around half tread left and grip well on wet roads and most off road terrain.
Would definitely recommend to anyone looking for a well priced tyre that is perfect as an all-rounder for daily driving and fun on the weekend.

Extremely impressed!
I put these on my land rover discovery, and absolutely swear by them! I have now done 50 000km on them, and could get another 20 000 out of them I think. The car spends every weekend offroad, and does alot of towing. There is quite a few cuts in them from spinning the wheels on sharp rocks, but I have never had a flat. It's very surprising where these tyes will go. They bag out really well at 18psi on the beach, and offroad we normally run 26 to 28psi. Of course being an at, they don't love clay and mud, but still do fairly well. On road grip...Read more
is awesome in the dry, and fairly quiet, in the wet the still grip faitly well. The only reason I won't be putting these on the car next time is that I will be going to the toyo open country mt as I am offroad every weekend.Similar opinion? Write a review on ieatwords.com.au!

Value for money on and off road
I bought a set of 5 tyres for a recent trip through the Simpson Desert and up to Cairns and back from Adelaide. These tyres performed exceptionally well. Very quiet on the black top. Great grip in the wet (the rain followed us from Adelaide through the Simpson) and great grip in the dry sand. I dropped tyre pressures down to 25psi for most the Simpson. Did parts of the French line, and WAA line. Once we reached the slat lakes we had to make a detour as there was too much water and we didn't want to risk getting stuck with my mates camper traile...Read more
r. This lead to a small 5km detour around the lake to a narrow part which we easily crossed, then we had to carve our own track back to the WAA line. The tyres made easy work of the uncharted country side (could have been due to being on a Ford Ranger :-). I dropped the pressure to 12psi to conquer Big Red. No problem. I'd recommend these tyres to anyone. I bought them for $125 each...a bargain! Beats $500 each for the BFGs I had on a previous 4WD.Similar opinion? Write a review on ieatwords.com.au!

Good reputation but 4 tyres failed after 24000km's
Prior to purchasing my new 2014 Ford Ranger I did quite a lot of research into choosing the right tyres for rough off highway travels selecting Toyo A/T 2'S as the solution, however after only 24000km's of mostly bitumen work with 4000km's traveling Savanah Way, Birdsville Track plus Oodnadatta track I discovered on arrival in Alice Springs that the side walls on all 4 tyres were separating and starting to bulge which required all tyres to be replaced.
I was loaded but within vehicle specifications, towing a off road camper trailer with tyre pr...Read more

Toyo at2 the best
Put these new toyo at2's on my prado about 5000 klms ago. The look aggressive but ride as quiet as a mouse. They are 1500 kg load rated so basically take any punishment. Best of all they grip really well in all conditions unlike many of the USA branded tyres. Dropped to 18 psi in the sand and no dramas on Fraser. I have driven on most AT tyres and these are hands down the best by a sizeable margin. Cant speak highly enough of these tyres.

great value for money
have recently swapped to toyo best move I have made great in the wet. Quite better on and off road you dont have to buy the most expensive AT tyre as most of them are not that good in the wet on road. However Toyo tyres open country 2 are fantastic.

Good morning I have purchased a new land cruiser troop carrier the factory tyres are 225/95R16 what is the equivalent toyo open country A/T II that is available. ?
Gerard.

Gerard.
Not sure on the troopie as I have a 200 Series Land cruiser that uses 285 X 65 R17 tyres, however I just replaced both rears after doing 122,000 kms on and off road
225/95R16 is not available in Open Country AT2. This size is unique to this vehicle. With this size I believe choice is limited to 2 brands / products a this stage.
Consider a wider tyre, with 85 profile
