Great family wagon
Car gets used every day and is comfortable and reliable. It is used around town and on the freeway. It fits our family of seven with ease and I recommend it over other family rigs.
Purchased in May 2021 at Peter Kittle Motor for $70,000.00.

LOVE this beautiful vehicle!
After owning an older 2005 Kluger we definitely needed an upgrade! Even though we loved our old Kluger we still test drove every 7 seater 4WD/AWD in our price range, just to see if there was anything that was now better. But the new Kluger GXL came out head & shoulders above the rest! It was by far the most spacious inside and handled the road better than the rest.
And a year later we’re still of the same opinion!! It’s fantastic! An absolutely beautiful car to drive, amazing open road fuel economy compared to our old Kluger, and handles ever...Read more
ything we’ve thrown at it with ease! It’s so spacious inside and our 4 children (2 of whom are now young adults plus 2 tall teenage boys) fit perfectly with the 3rd row seats up! Huge boot space, quiet to drive, loads of power and copes well when we take it off-road. Love all the extras that came with our GXL too - seat warmers, keyless smart entry & start system, great reversing camera, alloys, leather interior, 3 zone climate control, fantastic sat nav system on an 8” screen, dynamic torque control, active cruise control & my favourite - the automatic boot! My only gripes would be that the front passenger seat on the GXL model no longer has electric seat adjustment (our 2005 mid range model did!) plus the front seat headrests are a tad uncomfortable - this was easily fixed though by removing them and turning them backwards. All in all this car is outstanding! It wasn’t cheap ... but for a car that looks classy inside and out it’s been a great buy!

Good Car, solid engine, but missing key features
Had one of these as a hire car, only 6 months old with 10,000kms on it. The AWD version.
The good. : Rides well, lots of power and good on fuel. The inclusion of adaptive cruise and lane guidance are great features to see toyota finally adopting.
The average: The styling is typical toyota blandness, lacks any real quality feel or style. The entertainment system has no car play or any real function beyond basic blue tooth and radio functions. The usb doesn't even charge your phone as it doesn't provide enough power to keep it up to spee...Read more
d. Seats average comfort, but not heated or cooled seats, and no lane avoidance features, makes others like Jeep look like better options. No auto wipers but auto lights... good they got one thing right. The annoying: Constant beeping of the lane system made me want to hit it, the 1-2 minutes of it trying to connect to blue tooth each time you start the car, and the use of the awful stalk for the cruise system, and a left pedal manual handbrake feels like a 10 year old after thought. Overall it could be a good package, but toyota have just features out that are standard on others for the price.

Amazing!
Smooth drive and very well thought of interior! The purchasing process was made extremely easy through Patterson Cheney Dandenong. The Kluger is very spacious and great for long drives. I would highly recommend the Kluger to anyone who has a large family or owns dogs. The middle console is my favourite due to the large space it provides.

Best Car I ever owned
The 2018 Kluger comes with a front facelift and changes to the backlights. Also a slew of safety features comes standard now. In my GXL AWD version, we get BSM, AEB, Lane departure warning n assisted steering, cross traffic alert, active cruise control on top of VSC, hill descent, hill start etc. For moderate off-road driving, there's snow mode, central diff lock. We love the design of the car interior and outside and chose this over the Mazda 9. It drives and handles like a dream and the ride is so comfortable be it on highways, on gravel and...Read more
farm roads. I enjoyed the active cruise control that uses radar to keep speed n distance. There's plenty of power and the car is very quiet. Spacewise, plenty of legroom, even in the third row, which are quite comfy compared to some other cars. Consumption in start stop traffic is high -around 14l/100km but that's to be expected for such a big car. On the highway, it's 8-9l/km. If you're looking for a frugal engine, wait for the hybrid version. Overall, I am truly happy with this car..Similar opinion? Write a review on ieatwords.com.au!

I love driving my car now, I brought a new car for a family car, it is perfect for car seat installation with isofix, beautiful car to drive and it’s a big car but doesn’t feel big to drive, my parter is 6ft 4 and there is plenty of leg room even with a car seat behind the passenger seat, love the leather interior

Great Family car!
Great all round SUV with plenty of room for passengers and/or storage.
Powerful enough for towing light caravan or full trailers.
Responsive especially at the higher range and been totally reliable.
The only downside has been its lack of functional GPS in my mid range model and no diesel option

Top chariot apart from the FWD
We have 3 very active kids, who jump all over the car, and the mighty Kluger soaks up the rough and tumble with ease. Wife likes driving it, engine has plenty of grunt, A/C works great on hot days, only problem we have found is the FWD option gives lots of torque steer with a 200kw engine, so hang onto the wheel when tromping it.

Toyota Kluger Amazing
Purchased new Toyota Kluger from James at Castle hill Toyota in 2017, car is great in relation to the room of the 7 seven seating and the leather interior with heated front seats works great, finish in the cabin/ exterior is good for the price with satellite navigation, alloys and leather standard on the GXL model.
Fuel economy is reasonable in city cycle, but on long trips fuel economy is amazing, just had first service at Castle Hill Toyota, fixed price service was great along with the service given to me.
Car has has exceed my expectations in relation to quality and performance for the price and has made the family trips enjoyable.

Very comfortable family car
Great to drive. Lots of space. Lots of power when needed especially on the highway. We have gone on long trips as well as around town. Able to take 7 people with reasonable leg room in the rear extra seats. Very small fuel tank for the amount of fuel it chews through. I had a problem at the first service but Toyota have been excellent with their warranty. Normal Toyota infotainment system - TERRIBLE but aware going in!! Bluetooth works well. Overall very happy.

Affordable family car
I had Holden commodore before, compared with Klugar. I think Klugar steeling wheel is more easy to maneuver, better visuability, more seats (also the third row is hardly can fitted in anyone), good for long distance drive. I had base model of Klugar which similar price with Holden and less features. Sound effects, temperature control and fuel is a big concern.

Always been our dream car! Has lived up to our expectation...
When we purchased the Kluger 2WD we knew that we didn't go wrong with our choice in the first place, to be honest even if its a big machine it is the easiest car that I have driven so far. Driving experience wise, it felt so light, quiet and secured. The interior looks classy and the accessories are pretty straightforward. Petrol wise, its more economical compared to other 7 seaters in the market since its a 2WD and we couldn't feel any much difference since our previous car was a sedan V6 and the fuel cost is more or less the same.

Fantastic car.
Love our car. So comfy, big and roomy and the seven seats are worth their weight in gold. Superb ride and Toyota reliability.
Qualityeather seats and so much variable load space but drives like a luxury sedan.
Excellent in car entertainment and computer and pretty good economy for such a big lump.

In love
The handling on my two wheel drive Kluger is great! I had heard conflicting things about the difference between the 4wd and 2wd but for me the 2wd is great. It's smooth and easy to drive in the city, In carparks and on the highway. The room in the back seat is more then enough, the two rear seats can be quite small (depending on where the back seats are positioned) but that can be expected. The air-con gets through to all the back seats and the seats them selves at comfortable. It fits easily a pram, bassinet attachment and large amount of groc...Read more
eries in the back with alot more room for some other items. And for a large car I find it does well on fuel. I don't see myself driving anything but a Kluger ever again! A great fit for my growing family.Similar opinion? Write a review on ieatwords.com.au!

Best 7 seater
The best drive available under $100K. Amazing on long journeys with enough Technology to keep the driver and passengers happy. Great visibility makes town driving and parking very easy. I also use the boot area for work and can fit more tools and equipment in than any other SUV I've owned.

My pride and joy
I love my new kluger, she is like part of the family.I was looking for a car that fits my needs, I looked at a prado great car, drives good, very comfortable and plenty of room, but was a bit out of my price range,so I thought oh well I have to wait a while to save for one and then I glanced over and sore a gorgeous black kluger on the showroom floor and fell in love with it straight away, test drove it and loved it. The power delivery and excelleration is brilliant and fuel economy is better than I expected,I have the awd model and im averaging ...Read more
11.9 combined, which is comparable to my previous kluger, that was a 2wd,and my new kluger only has 2000kms, so the engine will free up and get better economy. The comfort is great and ride and handling seems better than my previous kluger.Space and seat configuration is good and well thought out well.the build quality seems to be pretty good, comparable to the previous model that was made in japan and the new generation klugers are made in the usa and really cant see a drop in build quality, if anything there seems to be a inprovement in materials in the interior and leather seats are a higher quality .There really isnt thing I dislike about my new kluger, maybe offef thing like blind spot monitoring and radar cruise control standard across the range and have power adjustment passanger seat like my old kluger, but really im clenching at straws here,I love my new kluger and been really happy with my new baby, would recomend one in a heart beat.Similar opinion? Minor Issues - Still a good car
Pros - Great family car, great to drive, good performance and not sluggish at all, so far very reliable, air conditioning in the cabin everywhere which is essential where we live, good looks.
Cons - We brought a 2WD but should of brought the AWD I find the 2WD a little light in the steering at times (not sure why Toyota just doesn't drop the 2WD versions and just make them all AWD they are SUV's after all) our cruise control stick lights are flickering (Toyota is replacing the part though), we find the trip/fuel computer a little strange but according to the last refuel we are getting 605kms to a tank but has said as low as 405km even though our everyday driving habits had not changed (Toyota is looking into this also).

Fantastic family car in every respect, except fuel economy.
We purchased the Kluger new . It's the mid range GXL AWD 2015 model .
After owning a 2010 model for 5 years, we decided to upgrade.
I love most of the features of the car . It's very spacious, smooth to drive, powerful motor, looks good! Capped price servicing for 60000 kms (the first 6 services.)
I only have 2 criticisms. The Toyota app on the stereo is useless, so the satnav via the iPhone feature doesn't work. An after market add on is available for the stereo at about $1300. We haven't bothered though.
2ndly, the car his much heavi...Read more

Questions & Answers
KUMUDUasked
I bought a brand-new Toyota Kluger GSU50R GXL 2WD - 2022 from a very reputed Toyota dealer in July 2022. Couple of days after the delivery the Air conditioner went faulty. When I speak to them, they tell you things like to a 5y old child expecting us to believe. Normally any service reps from any dealer ships from any manufacturers are very bad. They produced good constructive explanatory statements for customers. They just don’t tell you the truth. I have been in to this dealership 4 times for the same problem. Still not working. Now Toyota Australia is involved. Why this problem keeps coming like this? Is this because of the incompetent technicians of the dealer who can’t trouble shoot this or is it a factory defect? It is not a cheap model! We paid to drive, not sitting at workshop for technicians to learn or do trial & error work. Its my money & my car.

Can you explain exactly whats wrong with the aircon? (tell me as if I'm a technician you need to help point where to look)
when turn on the Air conditioner no cold air. Inside the car is fogging up if you use the heater. first time they said it was a human error at the factory. Drove home next day no Air conditioner working again (no cold air) . Took it back to the dealer that time they kept the car for two days & use some dye to see where the gas leak is. After a day or so they said found the problem & it is the compressor int going faulty. I knew it was a load of garbage. In a brand new car ? what a joke. Then it took them nearly a week to get the compressor from Japan. Fitted in after 1.5 months later no air con again. Took it back again then they said the gas was too much last time when they regassed. So they I think they patched up again & so far its ok. waiting to pass 1.5 months to see what happens next. Thanks
