Large SUV
Used most days around city with regular trips to the Southwest and across paddocks. Standard tyres useless in an slippery conditions, should be offered selection of tyres at purchase. Tows medium sized camper trailer without effort or noticeable steering affect with good braking (assisted by Electric trailer brakes). Limited legroom in second row and third row has your knees up fairly high although almost as much thigh room as the second row. Fuel consumption climbs steeply above 90kph. Should have Android and apple carplay as well as a better Gps which was out of date on purchase.
A very easy mechanism to remove the Third row of seats would be valuable.
Purchased in July 2021 for $105,000.00.

comfortable highway cruiser and excellent tow vehicle BUT
comfortable highway cruiser and excellent tow vehicle. have to pay way too much for way too little. basic inclusions - no seat heaters, accessory plug in rear, lumber support adjustment, stereo controls steering wheel and poor standard insulation. high depreciation
I would rather go off road in my old 75 troopy
Purchased in May 2021 for $44,000.00.

The best family 4x4 vehicle
Toyota landcruiser 200 vx very comfortable vehicle my kids loves it in every trip. Quite cabin and torquey engine. The stock suspension is amazing. Drive it off road and it will just take it easy with the help of its traction control you don't need differential locker in my opinion.

If you can afford one, buy one.
What a beast of a vehicle
Pulls like a train
Plenty of room, nice and comfy and suites a large variety purposes
Would recommend the LC 200 to anyone with pockets deep enough to hold the cash you need to buy one
The Sahara was on my wish list but the VX was what we ended up buying and are very happy
We’ll be pulling a 3t van around our great country soon and will let you know how we (and the cruiser) go

No fuss
Bought to 200 as we needed a tow vehicle for a large caravan. In many ways the car is faultless. It's comfortable, powerful, easy to drive and so far hasn't had any problems at all. It does everything without fuss (hence the title) and I enjoy driving it.
If I had any complaints it would be about what you don't get, rather than what you do get. For $100k you don't get much of the technology that is standard in many much much cheaper vehicles. You don't even get a lot of the things that are available in the 200 in other markets. The fact that...Read more
you need to buy the VX (one from top of the range) with an asking price of over $100k to get steering wheel controls and trip computer is disgraceful (or at least you did on the MY16.....that might no be the case for other model years). Also for a 4.5l V8 twin-turbo engine you don't get a lot of performance. 200kw power & 650NM torque are very conservative figures for an engine of this size. My one real gripe is the transmission. It seems better suited to a V8 petrol than and V8 diesel. The first sign of a hill and it's dropping gears and unlocking the torque converter and sending the rev's screaming. It never lets the engine use it's torque, it always relies on revs and power and that spoils what is otherwise a relaxed and no fuss driving experience (and probably doesn't help fuel economy either). It also removes pretty much any and all engine breaking. Even dropping gears manually doesn't really work. You have to rely on the breaks 100% to slow down which isn't great in a heavy tow vehicle. All in all I'm happy with the 200. It does what I need and does what I bought it for but it does seem that Toyota Australia do seem to get away with selling a relatively low spec version of the 200 here while still charging a premium of it. I guess it is because there is very little competition. There are other good 4WD tourers, there are other good tow vehicles, there are other large powerful luxury SUV's, but there isn't really anything else that does everything well.Similar opinion? Nearly a 5 star rating
I have owned other 4x4 before but this one is the best one yet but is just a bit heavy on fuel consumption average 14.5l/100klms not loaded and 18.6l/100klms towing a 2.6 ton caravan. The suspension is a bit soft for towing poly airbags and load levelers made a massive improvement.

Best car I have ever had
The heading states it all, love my VX 200 series landcruiser. It's smooth and uses far less fuel than it could for a car of its size. Perhaps the only bad thing would be that I needed to upgrade the suspension to tow. It sagged in the back with standard suspension.

2016 landcruiser vibration
Mine is the VX with vibration through steering wheel amplified when towing and fatigues the body, absolutely disgraceful for any car especially their flagship vehicle. Has been back in total they have probably had it for 20 days back and forth, electrical issues engine cut our on freeway The worst car i have ever owned cannot wait to finish my 2yr lease. Toyota have tried to fix it but cant and like the other writer was told tough its just what landcruiser does. My y62 patrol is streets ahead a better vehicle gave that to my wife enjoy it so much when im back in that.

2016 Landcruiser 200 VX
Very comfortable, nicely appointed. However I struggle to understand why a near $100k vehicle doesnt have simple everyday items such as built-in tyre-pressure monitoring or auto-dimming rear-view mirror. My Wife purchased a VW Golf back in 2008, and more recently traded up to a Passat. Both vehicles cost under $50k and both had TPMS & auto-dimming rear view mirror.
My point is about value for money, yes the LC is a great vehicle but I do believe Toyota is over-charging and under-delivering on features. I guess that because there is really no d...Read more

Family of 5 comfort. Great on road and lots of handy features. We live in country nsw and on the highway beats kluger. Fuel us was 11.7 but early days yet. Good reach and comfort for main driver, lots of controls on wheel and feels solid in road. Great car pity all taxes add

no air con needs a few screen changes- easy just a pain). All working fine. I have put on it a water fileter by toyota as water will kill the engine. Seems like the space has been allowed for this SO why has toyota not put it in???? ANyway car feels great and all works good sofar.Similar opinion? Write a review on ieatwords.com.au!

Landcruiser 20 Vx Model
I traded my LC 200 Anniversary Edition which had 66,000K on the clock.
So I have now purchased the VX model, which has a lot more Bells and Whistles.
Again Toyota LandCruisers are absolutely Awesome Machines.
Do they have a downside, yes they are difficult to park in tight car parks. But that is a small negative compared to the magnificent on road performance.
I use the LC200 VX to tow my 2 Horse Float with Kitchen and bed etc. it goes up the challenging steep Toowoomba Range like it has nothing on the back.
I always feel secure in the car with and without the Horse Float.
Final word Absolutely Amazing Machine, which have amazing resale value.

We've waited a long time for this luxury
We have just bought a Toyota VX 200 series, we cannot express the joy we feel about the luxury. We thought it would have been heavier on diesel, but to our surprise it's the same as our old 80 series. We look forward to doing road trips now, so comfortable, with all the extras. Electric everything. We are planning to purchase a caravan in the next year or so - can't wait so we can tow it with our new VX around Australia

Does what it should
The big v8 is a sweet drive. Nowhere near ADR for consumption (9.9 combined), have been getting 9.8l/100klm on the highway and about 14.5l/100klm around town. So combined would average about 12-12.5l/100klm. Still pretty good for a 2.7 tonne car and I guess will get better as time goes on as I still only have 8000klms on it. Pulls our 19ft caravan no worries, consumption around 17l/100klm when travelling on highways at 100-105klm.

are easily cleaned, and the bigger satnav screen for ease of navigation (thought the one in the GLX was way too small), and ease of vision with the reverse camera. Satnav works really well, been to Sydney 3 times and driven around the city to various spots no worries. Seats are comfy for driver and passengers. Will remove the two extra seats in the back to give more storage room for my sailing and surfing gear. Good vision all around through windows and behind with the camera, and good parking collision warnings with sensors. Overall, easy to drive, vision is excellent, throttle response is tight considering the size of everything, mind you in eco mode it is sluggish around town, so we only use eco on the highway. Love it, everything works like you would expect it to. No hesitation in recommending for someone who needs a quality tow vehicle or a bigger car to carry the family and gear.Similar opinion? 2016 200 series VX, great for towing terrrible for comfort
Sure it has great pulling power but our y62 patrol is hands down a better vehicle on the tarmac we only tow and never go off-road so cant compare in that space but the steering in the landcruiser is bloody heavy and ever so slight vibration that comes through the steering wheel causes discomfort in arms. Ive had it from new towed a boat to QLD and 2 weeks later i still have an aching arm, never get these issues from our nissan as soon as practice (when its a year old) im going to sell it hopefully the success of the dodge ute will bring other big capable tow vehicles giving us a choice other than toyota. The nissan when towing the range of travel avail is a let down but choice of driving id take my wife's patrol 9 times out of 10.

Very good but could be improved
Just sold my 2013 Landcruiser 200 VX after 65000 stress free kilometers and was blown away by resale value. Mine was really quiet inside for a V8 and we found it very comfortable. Although mine was used daily it proved to be an excellent tow vehicle (3T caravan) with reliability that exceeded my expectations. My only suggestion would be Toyota should look at the VW Bluetooth system as mine was pretty ordinary when compared to the wife's VW. Nevertheless I am taking possession of my new VX soon because once you have had one, you will know why it is called "King of the Road".

Price
Just seen in one of the reviews that someone paid $95k for a GXL. I went to a few dealers on the gold coast and I was quoted ridiculous numbers for a VX. I went back to our usual dealer Oldmac in Springwood and as usual I got a great deal (i think) i got my VX for $94k. I don't work for or have anything to do with these guys but honestly we have now bought our tenth vehicle over eight years from them between Mazdas and Toyota and no other dealership has ever come even close to their prices. Highly recommended excellent no pressure service. Which when it comes to car buying it's truly rare. Pat Flynn.

2016 Toyota LandCruiser 200
Best vehicle I have ever owned, I use to own a GU Patrol and can't believe i'm saying it but it well and truly beats it hands down. Just brought it brand new and everything is mint. It would have to be the quietest vehicle I have driven in. The leather seats would have to be the most comfortable we have sat in. The power is awesome and the only engine sound you can hear is when you put your foot down to accelerate which is hardly noticeable. The sat nav seems to have everything you could ask for and we have had no problems with it. If you have ...Read more
the money, you won't be disappointed, buy one. Just adding a comment about fuel usage and at the moment I have done close to 1000kms around town and it's saying on the computer 12lts to 100kms, pretty good I would say for a very large vehicle with a V8 twin turbo diesel engine. Will post more figures after we do a long run coming up.1 comment

d to wait for around 3 months that was the only down side. I had no trade in so this probably made a difference. Been on a long trip without towing anything and it was getting 12-12.5lts to the hundred. It is much the same as around town if you go easy and not a lead foot around town. I have found between 80-90kms the fuel meter goes down to around the 10.5-11lts, so i would say this is the most economical speed. I have been getting 1000kms out of the tank so I'm pretty impressed because my 3lt nissan patrol wouldn't do this and they have virtually the same size tanks.Similar opinion? Not as good as earlier models for noise
Have just completed 7000 km in 3.5 months - great engine and torque - vehicle very noisy unless in 6th but towing requires 5th gear - am disappointed in engine noise as very noticeable in 4th and 5th at 2000 revs-
Have had previous Toyotas and did not notice noise as much - last vehicle was v6 diesel with about 550 of torque and could not hear the engine.

VX 200 series Satellite Navigation is rubbish
Have had my 200 series diesel VX coming up 2 years. My 6th Landcruiser so I am obviously a fan but I cannot understand why they would put in a satellite navigation system that just does not function properly. This goes against everything that Landcruisers stand for. I lose GPS signal regularly and this has caused me some anxious moments in Sydney. Also directions by voice are quite late and distance to intersections consistently overstated. The whole unit has been replaced once and so has the "card". I have seen a Toyota advice to dealers that complaining customers should be told that it is a problem inherent with the unit and its "just the way it is." Very poor form and very un-Toyota like in my experience.

Problems after 8 months
Ok, so now I have had the new v8 for about 8 months and have done 13000km.
Problems to date:
1:Annoying 1700 to 2100rpm vibration.
2:Rear seats loose making constant rattling noise when driving- Toyota dealer says that's normal.
3:Tail shift clunk even on highway when off and on gas.
4: rear brake problems after first service- smoke from back wheels after a 50km drive.
5: fuel filter maintenance problem at 13k just 3k after first service.
6: rear speakers picking up notice from phone when phone placed on the only suitable place to leave it - just in front of gear stick.

I have an issue with my 2018 LC 20 VX model and radio and Bluetooth having no sound. Here’s what happens
Currently - no sound at all coming through. This effects the radio and whilst the phone does connect to Bluetooth, there is no sound coming out of that either.
Previously - there has been static coming from the speakers. It is very random and can ‘crackle’ at any time, then goes quiet, then crackles again.
Occasionally - At times it just switches on and everything works.
Toyota have replaced the head unit and zero change. I just picked it up from Toyota today for attempt #4 and the technician says there are ‘no problems with wiring or speakers’ however I still have no sound
Any help/advice would be wonderful.

how to fix a clove box lid from opening
1 answer
The glove box handle pulls the latches into both sides of the glove box door/cover . These sometimes jam in because of dust or debris, and have to be coaxed out, but gently. A little lubrication helps them work better. It is not advisable to try to crack open the door as they are stuck together very well.
