The Bullet proof Reliability
i am a full time Uber driver and i drive hundreds of Kilometers ever day
over the period i have driven many cars, but i finally stopped at Toyota yaris
it has immense reliability i am so sure because i drive for living . i put so many kilometers on my 2012 Toyota over the past few years never had a single break down or spending other than oil changes
if you see the engine of this car Toyota uses same engine for 2002 model to 2022 nearly identical in shape that is from where reliability comes from its time tested Toyota dont tests new ...Read more
stuff in this car they use older time tested technology in this car with speed limit so low in Australia it wont be a problem in driving this car, its cheap economical and most importantly reliable even if you put it under the Abuse of Full time UBER drivingPurchased in October 2021 at Pickles Auctions for $9,000.00.

Great little car
I purchased this little car 4 years ago and I am still loving it. It has given me no issues so far and runs really well. It is a great car for inner city living and zipping around the city. I would recommend this car to anyone looking for something economical and small.

Can't live without my car
I have a 2016 Toyota Yaris and I can't brag enough about it. It's the perfect size for myself and the bluetooth system works flawlessly to connect my music and phone calls. The price I paid of $17000 was very reasonable for a brand new car and fuel economy is great, getting about 500km on a $40 full tank.

Budget car
My partner drives it most of the time and he says it is pretty good and powerful for its price. It does struggles a bit when going uphill or with the air con turned on but generally it's fine. It is small, cosy and easy to drive, suitable for our daily use.

Extremely reliable and not so small
Got this car as a 21st present from my family and it's amazing. I own a 2015 Yaris YR and don't let the exterior fool you, the interior feels a lot bigger than my other family car. It's extremely light and handles great and is by far the most fuel efficient car i have ever driven. My only issue is the bluetooth/touch screen technology which sometimes messes up but not enough to bring my rating down. 5/5

Basic, economical, reliable so far
Driving experience: performance is zippy enough, handling is good, very little noise.
Interior: it's basic, and there are some silly compromises. The touchscreen / rear vision camera is a nice addition. The glove box isn't even big enough to hold the manual / logbook folder that they came in! There's less internal storage than I'd want. But legroom is great.
Reliability: so far so good, but it's only been 2 months.
Running costs: Toyota have fixed price servicing for 3 years, so that's good.

Great value for money
Pros:
fuel economy is impressive. My car runs 500km in just $30 worth of fuel.
small and easy to drive, great for 1-2 person use or small families.
Cons:
the 4-speed, 1.3L engine is lacking just a little bit of power, especially in hilly areas, it really takes a while to build up your speed.

cheap reliable little car
As with all toyotas, reliability is the most noticeable feature. I have been driving to work everyday for the past 4 years with this little car, 250 kms each way, and it has never given me any problem. The mileage (i have the manual version) is pretty good, with a full tank giving me about 640 kms depending on the traffic conditions. The car is very spacey (5 doors), the driver seat is quite ergonomic although not luxurious. The engine is quiet but it can get a little noisy on hot days with full aircon on.
The downside is that once it gets to about 95,000 kms it loses a little bit of acceleration it had at the beginning.

one of the best small cars around but would like to see more power
I own a 2017 toyota yaris YR. i got a terrific deal as it was a demo car. although the car is great in all areas, i would like to see it have more power as sometimes when I drive the car up hills it struggles, even in low gear.

Like my car- does the job.
My Toyota Yaris hatch feels roomier than it looks and I like that the seat provides some support to keep the body from leaning too far on turns. It's economical... uses 6 point something L/100km. Bluetooth is great. My only negative is that the 1.3L manual doesn't have enough power. I have stalled quite a few times, especially going up the driveway...so have to consciously rev it more to get going in some circumstances. Maybe it's my poor skills, but I've also seen good experienced drivers stall my car.

TOYOTA 2017 YR YARIS 1.3 L AUTOMATIC.
I purchased a 2011 model ( the upgrade 2012 model ) and as it was now 5 years old I decided to trade it in on the new 2017 model.
I am delighted with the new car purchased on 30th June this year.
This model comes with cruise control and a rear reversing camera (as standard) that displayed on the dash console.
The fuel economy is very good and the power of the 1.3 L motor is excellent.

Perfect for fuel savings
I 'm impressed with this little zippy car, I even bought another for my child who needed a car for work. It goes fast quickly beware just because it's light. Got ticket for speeding and I would have never imagined I was over the limit because the car accelerates without effort. I find myself constantly looking at the digital speedometer. I only wish I'd bought the sedan. I would feel a little safer, The hatchback literally ends where your passenger sits and I am very hesitant to place people in the rear for fear of a back end crash. It is as ...Read more
if the entire back can be wiped out. It's just that feeling of vulnerability. The sedan at least has more body work. A full tank lasts forever, it is very economical, but engine is noisy and loud if you are used to silent engines. You'd be amazed the amount of groceries the boot can take and this is without the rear seats folded down. Cheap to service too. Less expensive spare parts.Similar opinion? Great car.
Would without hesitation endorse this car, we have the 1300 auto and has all the power we need and very economical to run, great on the open road as well as around town. Bought a Honda Jazz as well 1300 manual and have to say I prefer this myself but both are excellent value. Don't believe what the test drivers say in the mags, these are real world cars for real people in the real world.

Great economical small car.
We bought this vehicle new from northpoint toyota at Hillcrest S.A. in December of 2011.
It was the new 2012 model and we have been very happy with the cars performance. We looked around at Mazda, Suzuki and Honda but value for money and the smaller motor were reasons we settled on the Yaris.
The car is reliable and has bluetooth for the phone and electronic windows.

Best Little car
I bought my Toyota Yaris in 2010 as part of the Toyotathon for 14,990 for a 5 door hatch. The first thing I realised after looking at a lot of other little cars was what you got for your money. $130 capped priced servicing and the bottom of the range YR hatch came standard with blue tooth connectivity and a full size spare wheel and there is so many storage compartments- 3 glove boxes to be precise! It drives well with a manual in the 1.3L but i would be sceptical about weather an auto would have enough get up. There is ample space in the back ...Read more
as it allows you to slide the seats forward for more boot space or back for more leg room....every single time a new passenger gets in the backseat they comment on how much room it has. a lot of my male friends have been in Mazda 2's, VW polo's with the heads always touching the ceiling in the back....not in my Yaris as the seats tilt back a little to allow for extra headroom. The back seats also fold down and flat for more room- better then the 60/40 split most cars have. We have put so much in the yaris, it fit a 60" Tv and surround sound system in the back with a squeeze and much to the sales mans surprise! the boot closed with a trusty click. Now, 4 years old and 80,000km's on it, it's driven the full eastern coast a few times without missing a beat and never any problems. Fuel economy is amazing getting Brisbane to Rockhampton very easily on one tank. I couldn't recommend the Toyota Yaris enough. In 4 years it has cost me a set of tyres and its $130 every 10,000km's for it's service. Even after the capped price servicing expired my next one was only $200 with Toyota. Such a fantastic little car- Couldn't recommend it enough- perfect little first car.Similar opinion? Write a review on ieatwords.com.au!

Fuel saving automatic transmission feature - 2013 Toyota Yaris
2013 Yaris 1.3ltr has a system where the fuel cuts off when coasting or light braking and the torque converter locks up to keep the engine turning (like if it was a manual gearbox in gear) then when you accelerate again the engine fires and disengages the lock up converter.
This gives you a terrible delay/dead spot followed by lurching / jerky/ jumping as you accelerate to get going again. At first i thought it was a faulty accelerator pedal but only found out about this problem from another website after bringing back to toyota many times cou...Read more

Nice comfortable smooth drive
I bought the 2012 YR model for my wife in January 2013. It was a mangers car, so it had done 14K in eight months but we managed to get it for $13.5K compared to $18K for a new one. My wife loves the car. The new look is so much smarter than the old style. The sound system is excellent, it is very fuel efficient, easy to park, has responsive steering and has good power for it's size. She loves driving it and often tells me how happy she is with it. I love the fact that the capped servicing is only $135.00 for the first 3 years. Would recommend t...Read more
