BBQ Rusts - design fault
Like the radiant burners on these BBQs - cook food well with minimal flare up, however the BBQ is just not going to last. The quartz domes frost over after a short while and then lose thermal efficiency - at $80 each they are just too expensive to replace. But, thats not the biggest problem-which is RUST. The warming tray will RUST within several uses of the BBQ and then the firebox will RUST in the areas behind the burners. the same reason. Z&B and BBQs Galore would try to tell you this is not common however it IS a problem with all these BBQs. Z&B will again replace the firebox (under the 10 year warranty) however this will need to be done every 10-12 months until all the other parts, not covered by warranty will fail and make the BBQ useless.Purchased at Barbeques Galore for $1,499.00.

Rusting after less than 2 years and Z&B or BBQs Galore won't respond
Hi my Zeigler and Brown Classic 4 Burner purchased from BBQs Galore Moorrabbin on 25/10/16 is rusting.
We had to replace the hood and the warming tray under warranty after less than 12 months, however the warming tray again rusted badly within only a few months.
Now the firebox is rusting on the ledge immediately above the rear of each burner.
Also - I have now had to replace 4 of the glass domes, which had turned opaque from just regular use, and would no longer transfer heat from the burners. Replacing these dramatically improved the heat output from the burners, but at a cost of $300.
Not good enough.
Like the BBQ but its just not lasting and Z&B are not meeting their warranty obligations

Perfect cooking
I've had this bbq for about 4 weeks and love it. This is the 4 burner with 2 traditional burners under the plate and 2 glass burners under the grill. The glass burners are much cooler than the old style gas burners and spread the heat more evenly. This means I can grill a chicken breast or sausages with the perfect striping without burning or flare ups. These also seem to come out much more moist than my old bbq. ty of the end result is much better. I wouldn't recommend the glass burners under the hot plate because they wouldn't get hot enough. Having 2 different powers on the different style burners makes roasts easier because you can tweak the temperature very easily.1 comment

Rust glorious Rust!!
I purchased this very very expensive BBQ from Barbeques Galore. The actual cooking on the BBQ is reasonable though it does suffer from poor heat distribution with either ends of the burner getting alot more heat than the centre of the BBQ. This I can deal with. The major problem is the RUST. The BBQ suffers badly from rust all over the main cooking compartment, the handles and trays are especially rusted. I asked for a replacement partsback in December 2015 and are yet to recieve any correspondence back from BBQ's Galore. I would never buy one ...Read more

Update: Having owned it 6 months it's still great. The food actually cooks better, especially over the radiant grill section.
