Worst barbeque - do not buy one! This model is absolutely terrible!
I love barbeque and cook on a Barbie every day! It’s pretty much my daily diet! I thought if I use it so much i should invest in the best of the best, so I bought a Ziegler Brown turbo elite from barbeques galore for $1799 with the side gas stove burner and walked out a great huge smile! I been fighting desperately in order to not admit defeat ever since! I’ve been trying for 4 months literally everyday cooking on this barbeque! I didn’t want to admit defeat, especially because I spend so much money! I tried everything! If you think this is a g...Read more
ood barbeque, your wrong! You either never owned a good barbeque before or you have another reason to leave a positive review. Maybe your fighting like I did and don’t want to admit to yourself the defeat! It hurts to spend $1799 on a barbeque and then admit that it doesn’t cook well! I think there is definately a mental hurdle to cross. Unfortunately or fortunately I realise now that I Paid $1799 aud for a very bad barbeque! I did expected it to be cooking well! It just does not cook well - especially steaks! The heat is not consistent throughout and it doesn’t seal the steaks! For chicken where it has to be slow cooked and well done throughout its ok if you are very patient, because it takes about double the time to cook than it should! The reason is, it is very slow to heat up, and the heat, when it has finally becomes hot after waiting, will escape after you lift the lid to turn the food around and then your back to a waiting game for it to heat up. In the mean time your slow cooking your food from the second side you flipped it to! This is not the way a good steak or lamb meat should be cooked. If you cannot seal both sides, the meat even chicken won’t taste great! Also I didn’t pay $1799 to eat well done slow cooked meat! The steaks just don’t seare and do not taste like they should even if I preheat it to over 240 degrees, and it takes a while to get hot, past 175 degrees it really slows down! There must be a design problem in my view. My barbeque is 4 months old and it works like it should, there is no fault within the barbeque. Everything works perfectly. It just doesn’t cook well like you expect! I went back to the store and tested the floor Stock. It is the same as my barbeque. So I have ruled out that my barbeque is faulty. When I went back to the store where I bought it from and I got told how to turn up the heat by turning a small screw under the knobs you turn to set the heat level. I must say this improved the barbeque tremendously. However once you turn it up by turning this screw with a small flat head screw driver, you loose the ability to turn it down, of course you can go back to the old useless setting where you can turn it down, if you reset it using the screw driver. Now, I found myself cooking with an additional tool in my hand - a flat head screw driver! It lives permanently in the barbeque draw. Sometimes you need to turn the heat down low, but mostly you want it hot, so the screw driver and pulling knobs off and turning the screw is a frequent task and essential if you want the best outcome. You get used to it, till one day when I realized that this is insanity, that’s when I realized my defeat with this barbeque! It shouldn’t be like this! And it’s supposed to be a premium Bbq at a premium price! Do not buy it! There are much better barbeques out there! Better cook on a frying pan than this barbeque. To make it worse, the wheels keep leaving black marks on my beautiful tiles on my balcony! The marks are just about impossible to clean off! I wish I had just not bought this barbeque! It is definitely not worth the money. Yesterday I went to another store and bought a $450 aud gas equivalent Webber, due to the huge dissapointment with this barbeque... Wow unbelieveable and the taste, omg, too Good to be true! The cooking time halved! The heat, Wow instantly hot in comparison, the steaks perfectly sealed! I can turn it up and down without a need for a screw driver! I can’t believe I spend $1799 aud on this terrible Ziegler and Brown turbo elite two burner! Damm u people who left good reviews! I’ll never use it again after cooking on the Webber! I’d take the Webber every day of the week over this large piece of inferior junk. I will leave a proper Webber review after I cook on it some more. But now what will I do with my 4 month old Ziegler and brown turbo elite? Give it to Mum and Dad as a present? I feel sorry for them. My dad is old and my mum wouldn’t be any good with the screw driver situation! Sell it I suppose, but will anyone buy it, especially after reading this review? This barbeque is not worth more than $200 aud...and even at that I’d spend another $200 and buy the Webber! I had many barbeques at lower and similar price points in my life and this one is inferior to them all. This is an honest review and from someone who actually has owned many barbeques and is a barbeque fan and appreciates a good steak, fish or chicken everyday on the barbeque.Similar opinion? High quality and easy to clean.
If your a looking for a bbq that is high quality and will last a long time then this is it. It is expensive and can only be bought from bbqs galore. I find it easy to start and it hides the gas bottle behind 2 doors on the bottom which also has a storage area. It also has a drawer that i use to store utensils etc.
As i said it is expensive but i,feel it will last a long time and i'm hopeful i wont have to buy a bbq for the next 10 years.

Ziggy pyrolytic magnificence.
We love our Ziggy pyrolytic. We bought it last year. Compared with our old bbq it cooks evenly and easy to clean with the quartz pyrolytic system. It also looks impressive. Easy to use. I wish the fat collecting tray was wider though and less metal at the edges where the fat collects. That’s the only small fault I’d say. I use it about 3-4 times a week. Highly recommend.

I want my old Weber back!
I went to BBQ's Galore to buy a Weber Family Q to replace our old, but still working Q. I was told "Nobody buys Webers anymore" and was convinced to go for the Ziegler and Brown. My wife didn't like the look of the round, red Ziggy so we went for the much more expensive stainless steel model. Big mistake! I read reviews before purchasing and did question the number of poor reviews and was assured the reason is because people do not set them up properly for mains gas. I therefore got ours set up by a professional. I hate it. It either lights str...Read more
aight away or takes about 3 minutes for the gas to flow, you never know. The biggest however problem is inconsistent heat. The heat pours out the ends of the glass tube creating super hot parts at the top and bottom while in the middle nothing happens! Seriously thinking about putting it out on the street and buying a Weber.2 comments
Further update. Nobody has followed up and I still hate by BBQ.

Very reliable
This was a gift from a friend so, not sure how much it was but it's certainly worth a lot to me and getting a lot of use. Easy to clean and plenty of storage downstairs. It's certainly a great step up from the previous 2-burner we had. I would suggest getting a cover tho as the stainless can look filthy quite quick outdoors with dust & grime etc.
Big enough to cook for a whole family. My fave; slow roast lamb!

Very good BBQ f
Hi I had been looking for a turbo for a while, I could not justify the price. I was lucky enough to finf one on Gumtree that was nearly new. I have to say for a person who leaves all the cooking to my wife I have found the BBQ to be one of the best I have used and have experimented with all types of cooking with great results. The taste form the grill is second to none. The price they charge for retail is very exspensive, although if you enjoy cooking on a BBQ I would recomend it.

Mixed feelings - I use my Z&B 4 burner regularly(very) - the instructional Youtube suggests pulling apart and cleaning every 20 or so uses - this is totally impractical for the BBQ, its design and use. My Quartz glass is stained and very hard to clean - been through the dishwasher & CLR a couple of times. I don't believe they are performing as they should - needing them to be replaced within 18 months.. yes I clean and maintain the BBQ Regularly - at that price who can afford not to. I would have my TURBO 5 BBQ back any day... for the Price I s...Read more
uggest shopping around and asking friends you trust to give an unbiased opinion - don't get hung up on Forums... I certainly didn't in my choice! Beside it using more gas than my previous BBQ Galore TURBO 5 Burner (lasted many years - about 15 years of regular use - yes I did have to replace some components, but for the use a fantastic BBQ) The grills are too far apart for grilling vegetables - eg Zucchini, Capsicum. Sweet potato, eggplant etc. including some meats & salamis you want a char grill effect. The Quartz burners need to be longer as a flame comes out either end - both reducing cooking area and or burning food.. I am also having a problem with one of the burners under the flat plate only burning low - despite cleaning the burner & checking the Brass Nozzle gas jet. The HOT box of the Z&B is great - if only they had the TURBO burner set up - the price although a solid unit is high for a BBQ.. If I had my time again, I would not buy one & advise my parents the same - also regular BBQ users. Seek some genuine advice...1 comment

lism and outcome was outstanding. 10 out of 10 BBQ Galore (Aspley). The bbq is workings fantastically...i chose to go back to standard burners, rocks and grills..could not be happier. I have always been a fan of buying quality and paying a bit more- this has paid off in this instance. Z&B 4 Burner Cart and Side Burner
I absolutely positively love this BBQ! It is so awesome to cook on especially with RQT burners on the grill side.
When grilling I find I don't have the fat build up you usually get as the quartz burners vaporise it anyway. They are a little discoloured now around the edges despite regular cleans but all good.
I have mine undercover near the pool area and is covered when not in use. Bit of a clean for the stainless steel and continues to look new.
Steak comes out perfectly in fact everything does and I can slow cook brisket and pork.

Really Really Good
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=GB4ETZYDDS4 - Bit of a look into how It Really cooks
Bought this BBQ about 2 years ago and it has been nothing but good. Easy to keep clean the best cooking you can get without going to charcoal. I live right near the coast and keep it covered when I'm not using it and give it a wipe over with a stainless steel cleaner every now and again and it still looks bang on perfect no signs of rust at all except for the after market grills i added to it.

Turbo Elite 4 burner v Beefeater
Hi all
Finally purchased a new BBQ after retiring the old girl (Turbo) after 25 years and many part replacements to keep it running like new. My project required a 4 burner natural gas compatible BBQ with a hood that could be dropped into a custom outdoor kitchen cabinet. Well let me tell you, if you don't already know, there are a lot of BBQ's these days to choose from. My price range was around $1900 to $2100 as I figured I wont be buying another one for a long time (probably never) and life is too short to go cheap. Plus there is an o...Read more

Looks amazing but handles and buttons have peeled and the panels have rusted!
We purchased the $5 500 Grand Turbo 6 burner from Bbq galore in Richmond! The Bbq is under cover however, the handles and buttons have all the paint peeling off and certain spits of the bbq have rusted!
We have approached Bbq galore about 4 times since October 2015. We were asked to use a specific cleaner (which we did ) but although it looked shinier it did not fix the peeling or rust problem!
We supplied photos and are still waiting for a response from a manager! We are always told that we will be contacted by the Manager and we are still w...Read more

Very, very impressed
I purchased the the turbo elite 2 burner. I watched the videos online which helped as the recommended cooking procedure didn't sit well with me. On my first attempt I tried 3 different cuts of meat and all were better than I have cooked before. I recommend warming the bbq up to 200 with the hood down then cook both sides with the hood down, only turning when the first sight of blood come to the surface then rest as usual. It cut cooking time down imensely. As with everything new trial and error is key.

Great!!!!
I have used many BBQ's in my time and have got to say that this bit of kit is great!! I went for 4 burners instead of the hot plate. I was really impressed in the shop as I've never used anything like the heating style, always had gas or coal last model being Webber. I'll never go back... First tryout was fresh chicken, sausages and bacon... All done to perfection on first time. Well worth the money.. 100%

Excellent BBQ
I'm a charcoal fan so was very sceptical about spending big money on a gas bbq. I saw them as just outdoor grills.
Well... I have to say this bbq is excellent. Those domes really seem to work.
I have a 4 burner model, half grill and half hotplate, with an additional side burner for a pan or wok.
This works great for us, meat on the grill and veggies on the hotplate. The food comes out with a fantastic smokey flavour, I'd say almost if not as good as a charcoal kettle. Only without the hassle of charcoal! We use it at least a few times a week, so easy and really nice results.
I've not even tried it with a smoker box yet... that might well be the final nail in the coffin for charcoal in this house.

Not built for the Aussie weather
We bought a Turbo Elite RQT. It has always had a cover. It proports to be stainless steel but we have discovered that only some parts are stainless. The metal coating on the handle that raises the lid has peeled off and the metal underneath is oxidising and turning into a white powder. Very disappointing for what was a reasonably expensive BBQ

Awesome BBQ
I used my new BBQ for the first time on the weekend. I was a bit worried in regards to the mixed reviews. It seems people either love it or hate it.
It turns out I am one that loves it.
I don't understand how people have trouble cooking on the grill side. The meat came out perfect.
I slow cooked chicken drumsticks on one part, and cooked a range of other meats rotating them around.
The beef came out with nice grill lines and cooked perfectly. The chicken was crispy on the outside with grill lines, and moist on the inside.
It seems t...Read more
o take longer to heat up than normal gas burners. To get it going I put it on full until the burners started glowing red. I then turned it down low. There were a few minor flare ups, but this was only as the oil ran over the the glass. This is to be expected. On my old BBQ there were a number of times when I had to stop cooking as there were huge flames coming off of it. Salvage the meat I could, turn off the BBQ and wait for the flames to stop. Then throw out the totally burned meat and start again. I could not imagine anything like this happening with this new BBQ.Similar opinion? Write a review on ieatwords.com.au!
Great purchase
This is a great BBQ if you don't need all the bells and whistles. Has side burner as well as the 4 standard burners. will take a rotisserie attachment, maybe Massport could make it an optional extra. Looks good and easy to use - even you Aussies should cope :-)

Best BBQ Ever!!!! It's my new oven!
I wish I could post pictures of everything I have ventured on my bbq! Perfect steaks, yummy pizzas, Sunday roasts even cakes!!!! You tube also have great uploads. Like all good bbqs, ovens all you need it to preheat for 15 minutes for that mouthwatering sear & then leave the burners on high for 15mins after to clean.
I have hardly used my oven since my purchase!
Worth every design award it's one! :)

Hello ... all I just purchased a turbo elite 2 burner, although I love the design I don’t think it cooks steak well... it kind of boils it or stews it instead of cooking it like a normal bbq. I know a few people are having the same issues.. did BBQs galore give you a refund or exchange ? I don’t know what to do... I am not happy ... for such expensive product i was expecting much more... please help...

They don’t acknowledge there is anything wrong with it. I’m in the process of looking at using the cabinet and pulling the whole fire box off the bbq and putting a Webber q on it. The only way you can cook a descent steak is by using the plate ( which I changed to cast iron)

One of my Turbo Elite RQT burners is misfiring with a burbling sound. I have cleaned the jet orifice and burner tube. I have swapped burners but it is still misfiring at the same jet position. Does the gas valve need to be replaced?
2 answers
Did you change your jets to natural gas or do you have LPG still?
Original LPG ones. 7 years old. Other jet works well.

Update! I went back to BBQ'd Galore and was advised that my issue is unusual and it sounds like a faulty set up with the gas supply. They are going have somebody look at it. Fingers crossed!
