Don't Buy One - It's the Worst BBQ Ever!!!!
We were sucked in at the store and purchased this BBQ with high hopes of a fantastic bbq. It's the worst bbq we have ever had - it only cooks the meat where the meat rests on the grill bars. The meat is ghastly grey with brown stripes - awful!!
We can't wait to dispose of it (it would be very unkind to even give it away) and return to the reliable Weber.

Not Real Good
Looked the part at the start, costs quite alot $2500;00, cover ripped on first removal as of sharp parts on BBQ. Took forever to assemble but then that could just be me, so so disappointed from lack of heat for my steak cooking. I think it is well made but it's just no good.

Best bbq ever
I agree with the last review.. I have owned a Turbo Elite 4 burner with side burner for over a year, I use it a few times a week . The burners work brilliantly, cooks steaks, roasts, pizzas, pretty much anything perfectly. It took a few tries to get the RQT burners down pat . But after that you have to be doing something wrong to stuff up a meal on it. I can honestly say that this bbq is one of the best things I've ever purchased, I love it.
The reviewers that can't get it hot enough, must be doing something wrong, because this bbq ge...Read more

Advice for people who cant get their meat cooking!
Hey guys, I've seen a lot of negative feedback on the Turbo's and I honestly, without bias, cannot understand how these results are being defined.
As an expert of Turbo's, here is a few pieces of advice that should be able to help you:
Many of you are saying that the heat isn't cooking your meat properly. There could be many things involved with this:
1. Not enough time heating it up. Even though the burners are much hotter than your average burner, the quartz dome does take time to heat up, so you do need to wait a tiny bit before you want...Read more
your steak to 'sear'. 2. If you have converted it yourself to NATURAL GAS without going to see BBQ's Galore FIRST. You should check that you have BIGGER JETS (NG doesn't burn as hot as LPG) and you need a different regulator, which regulates more gas flow with the natural gas option. 3. Cooking on a hotplate will not necessarily give you the desired result on a steak, try it on the grill and see how you go! 4. Because the TURBO ELITE's have STAINLESS grills, they do tend to take a bit more time. Even though they are shark-tooth design, the denser material doesn't work like cast iron does. 5. You could have possibly received a one off, fault BBQ! Check that the hose isn't leaky so that enough gas is going through to the jets. Meanwhile, also check that the JETS aren't blocked or semi blocked. I CANNOT EXPRESS ENOUGH HOW SIMPLE THE PROBLEM CAN BE, YOUR JETS COULD BE THE PROBLEM. 6. If its taking too long to heat up (which it shouldn't), try heating it up with the lid down and a few burners on high, should heat up quite quickly.

Waste of bucks
Cannot get enough heat, rqt burners appear good design but no heat. Disappointing so say the least. Will replace with older burners and ceramic rocks. Fortunately I bought this second hand in Toorak, I now know why he sold it. Lots of improvement needed.

Wow
I can't believe that people don't like this BBQ!? I bought mine several months ago after LOOOOOOONG deliberation and research I settled on the Turbo. I get massive amounts of heat. Perfect steaks every time. I would highly recommend this BBQ to anyone. Having said that there is obviously a problem with some of these BBQ's. These bad reviews are hard to read as I consider this to be the bast BBQ I have ever had and I stand by my review. I can only comment on my experience and for me this is a 5 star BBQ. as for roasting, the best roast pork ever...Read more
y time. I get the heat up too 250 then put the rotisserie in drop the heat down to 200 for 25 min then put all the burners on low. The BBQ stays at about 160-170. And just keeps that temp. I love this BBQ.Similar opinion? Write a review on ieatwords.com.au!

great investment
I cant believe there are so many bad reviews. The barbecue provides plenty of heat and grills steak prefectly to medium rare when on high in about 8 minutes. Yes you need to give the burners 5 minutes or so on maximum before cooking but other bbqs require much more time. I have noticed no stewing or broiling. The smokey flavour through the meat is great. Ive had nothing but positive feed back from friends. I cook basically all my meat on the stainless grills with few flare ups. The only time i get flare ups is when i grill really fatty loin ch...Read more
ops at a too hight temperature but the flare ups are still much less than other barbeques and the flare ups quckily burn out if you move the meat and keep the lid closed. As for roasting the radiant heat gives the meat a very even cook. And cleaning is as simple as drizzling some water on the domes, and giving it 5 mins or so to break away. Some times a second clean is required or a gentle wipe when cool. The grills require nothing more than a quick scrape and the inside is easy to wipe out as everything comes apart so easy.Similar opinion? Write a review on ieatwords.com.au!
Cannot Char Grill Steaks
BBQ,s Galore Turbo Classic with RTQ Burners
I bought a Turbo Classic before Christmas on the understanding it would chargrill steaks as my previous Bbq did - no matter what I try - lid up, lid down, on griddle plate or on grill bars just stews steak. No char outside with rare inside, just grey right through. Also, hard to clean, knobs get hot, RTQ domes get very dirty!
Very disappointing for an expensive product!!

Not a fun BBQ!
Possibly the most difficult BBQ to get used to with the quartz domes seemingly unable to grill, flare ups a real issue with extra smoke making this unit an uncomfortable experience.
I paid big bucks for the inbuilt unit and would just love to see my old 6 burner cheapie back, but this aint going to happen!!

OMG what have I done?
Bought this as a Christmas present for my son, who tried many times to cook a good steak, you can see the heat and that it is hot but for the life of us we can't cook a decent steak, just boils it. I and beside myself that I spent this much money for an oven. I will approach for a refund but do not like my chances, BBQ loers stay away from this cooker!!

fine if you want an oven, rubbish with natural gas does not char grill just bakes or broils, on high it burns the bbqer,s hands and knobs too hot to touch. all the heat come out the ends of the glass.Old turbo elite much better.BBQ galore in denial. I want my money back!

Great if you like your steaks broiled!
What an absoloute dissapointment, have tried everything with my 4 burner but still can't get a good steak out of it. Not enough heat, gets very dirty below, very hard to clean and the quartz domes do not stay clean, once dirty your hard pressed to clean. Rubbish for the price you pay, I would not recommend this to anyone.

Love it
Been looking at the Turbo Elite 4 Burner for a while, and now it's finally mine. First Impression, great build quality great instructions and went together well. I bought the Module and matching side table.
Used twice in the first week and the result was great. Now the wife likes her steak well done nearly cremated, wow what a difference being able to do her steak cooked through but not black, she was impressed, happy wife happy life. Me I like mine medium so full bore for a quick sear on both sides and turned to just up from low. Brilliant result!
I lined the bottom with foil to make cleaning easier.
If you cannot get the desired result with this product then you just cannot cook.

RQT BBQ 4 burner versus 2 burner
Their performance is like chalk and cheese.
We found the 2 burner totally inadequate for grilling a steak, medium rare and seared, no matter where we placed it, grill, hotplate, middle, side.It did not have enough heat with either LPG or natural gas. The burners are too far apart, they flare up with a bit of wind and with the hood down, makes a good steak taste like liver. Better to cook the steak on a hot cast iron griddle pan in the kitchen or a roast in the oven.
The 4 burner is far superior in effective heat output, particularly so wi...Read more
th the burners placed closer than the 2 burner. The bbq races up to temperature and the hotplate is excellent for searing steakes. The stainless steel grill is good, particularly over the two middle burners; the two outside burners do do not deliver as much heat to the outside grills, even though they are all the same rating. Needs a design review to capture more heat on the sides. The good news is that after writing a complaint about my 2 burner, BBQ Galore gave me great service. They sent their technicians over to check the gas pressure, the jets and the operation of the 2 burner. In the end agreed to take it back after 12 months as I was still not satisfied with the bbq. Saying that two days later they took away the 2 burner then delivered and installed free of charge, the 4 burner RQT Turbo, after paying the difference in price. At this stage I wish to express my thanks for the responsiveness and good manners of the Taren Point sales office,Thanks also for very good grilled steakss and other meats and vegetables. But more so for keeping my wife happy.Similar opinion? Write a review on ieatwords.com.au!
Best grilled steak ever
I've had my RQT Turbo Elite for almost 3 years. I love steaks medium rare with grill marks. To get this YOU MUST preheat the RQT burners for at least 5min on full. I use a water spray bottle to clean the quarts domes while they a red hot and never had a problem. Easy to clean. Best BBQ I've ever used.

Horrible BBQ can't cook
I've used this BBQ 2 times now and first impressions are that this is absolutely horrible. The burners are weak even when put to their maximum temperature. It takes far too long to cook and doesn't taste like BBQ'd meat. you would be better off cooking in an oven as ultimately the oven provides a far better experience. I would much rather prefer my old BBQ which performed much better.

Flares up
A bit over priced and does not deliver on what was promised by the sales people at BBQ's Galore - It does flare up and has ruined many dinner when using the rotisserie even after cleaning it from top to bottom. I see where the design flaws and could be re engineered to prevent this from happening. I should have bought a bbq from Lifestyle BBQ's - a mate bought one and does not have this problem with flare ups at all.

Beware this BBQ is not what it's made out to be
what a disappointment as this BBQ Can't grill or BBQ a steak. The Turbo Clasic is overrated. I replaced my much loved Beefmaster and would gladly replace it for my old one that I gave away.. when BBQing a steak you will never be able to get a grill marking on a steak and have it underdone, it comes out as if it was boiled..not happy.

Love It...
I've had the Turbo BBQ for about 3 months and really love it. Its by far the best BBQ I've owned. Took about 1 hour to assemble and went together easily. The build quality is amazing.
Most importantly it cooks the best steak I have eaten. It heats up very quickly and cooks really nicely with the lid down. Also great for roasting.
Couldn't be happier...

Terrible
First turbo elite delivered had no paint along 2 seams and already showed signs of rust. Replacement damaged out of box. Store took the goods back, but then wouldn't give me a refund until head office approve it - up to 10 business days. Apparently head office is aware of powder coat issues coming out of th factory!
Good concept.
Poor follow through

Hello ... all I just purchased a turbo elite 2 burner, although I love the design I don’t think it cooks steak well... it kind of boils it or stews it instead of cooking it like a normal bbq. I know a few people are having the same issues.. did BBQs galore give you a refund or exchange ? I don’t know what to do... I am not happy ... for such expensive product i was expecting much more... please help...

They don’t acknowledge there is anything wrong with it. I’m in the process of looking at using the cabinet and pulling the whole fire box off the bbq and putting a Webber q on it. The only way you can cook a descent steak is by using the plate ( which I changed to cast iron)

One of my Turbo Elite RQT burners is misfiring with a burbling sound. I have cleaned the jet orifice and burner tube. I have swapped burners but it is still misfiring at the same jet position. Does the gas valve need to be replaced?

Did you change your jets to natural gas or do you have LPG still?
Original LPG ones. 7 years old. Other jet works well.
