Works well but has a design fault
I purchased the Vax VX30 from Harvey Norman for $118.00 - free delivery.
Unpacking and assembling is a breeze.
The instruction booklet is better than most although there is nowhere in it where it indicates the total volume of mixed liquid, that it will take.
The booklet indicates that you use 40ml of their cleaning liquid per 1L of water, so the assumption may be, that it takes 1L. I doesn't!
I measured it and it takes 1.5L up to the full mark. Incidentally, the instructions mention that the water should not be higher then 40degrees, just b...Read more
e aware that most hot water out of the tap IS hotter than 40 degrees, but on the other side, by the time you add the cleaning solution to the water, transfer into the cleaners container, put it into the machine, the temperature has dropped considerably. I think it will be a trial and error situation. Obviously boiling water is a NO NO!Purchased at Harvey Norman for $118.00.

Not bad for the price
I spent some time reading the reviews and ended up buying this unit from The Good Guys for $150. Given the price, it's a decent machine to refresh your carpets. Don't expect a miracle and don't think "clean". Even though the water comes out quite dirty, I would rather call it a "refreshing" than "cleaning". Old stains won't go anywhere, nor will the main traffic area. The brush agitates fibres nicely and gives an illusion that the carpet looks newer, but does it really?
The extraction is somewhat weak - I used 2 full tanks of clean water+deter...Read more

Very Light And Easy To Use
I recently purchased this machine and i am very happy with it, we rent our home and have the normal rental property carpeting, i have not cleaned the carpet since we moved in, this machine is really easy to use, it is light, easy to fill easy to empty, the water in the machine was pretty yucky after i used it so worked well, i did it 3 times and it now looks a lot cleaner.
I have a dog and there was some fur in the front area of the machine i just hosed it out and dried out the machine in the sun, very happy with the machine, my last machine was so heavy and clunky it almost broke my back.
Purchased in December 2021 for $99.00.

Love it
One of the best things I have ever bought! So easy to use. I vacuum my carpet before washing with Vax VX30. Still it manages to take out dirt from underneath.
Purchased in January 2021 at Harvey Norman for $99.00.

Life saver for water spills 2 in 1
I don't leave views but this might be handy for someone in a situation of water leakage. I bought this as we have a water leak just before christmas and part of our carpet in the lounge is getting soggy wet. I was using towels to soak up the water every day until the plumber comes. Then I thought I'd look for a dry and wet vac, decided on this carpet cleaner instead as I saw it said it sucks water spills up. Very happy to say it works well and I don't have to have soggy water carpet while christmas is here. The carpet still is damp, it's not a ...Read more
drier, but it fills the tank with gross dirty water so you know it's doing its job. You have to clean small filter regular for hair, like dog hair. PRO: Great for cleaning carpet and water spills. Effective. Convenient and handy. Won't need to hire from shop. CON: Small tank, so multiple times to empty dirty water, but I don't mind as I'm happy it sucks the water up. Noisy but don't mind, it's what it does that matters. I can live with the noise.Similar opinion? Write a review on ieatwords.com.au!
Simple and better
Bought from the good guys for $148. Had a more expensive model with a power brush and can say that the simpler the better with these. Water and hair stuck around the brush wasn’t fun trying to remove it from the spindal and eventually broke. Although the water is gravity fed, the brush bar is right behind to spread the water out. People need to follow the instructions before complaining. Pull the trigger on the forward stroke and release when pulling back. With the water rail in front of the brush it gets immediately spread out.

ery manual method getting cat pee out of carpet so I purchased this. If the smell doesn’t come out try foam carpet cleaner after using the carpet cleaner then vacuum out after it’s dried. These are really just supposed to be used to dilute and suck up spills like drinks or pet stains. Not brush and condition the carpet. If you’re using it for professional grade carpet cleaning, buy something else. *Important note, the vx30 comes with a small bottle of cleaner already inside*Similar opinion? Cheap carpet washer
This carpet washer is not very easy to use but I can't blame its performance considering it only sells for $148. The water container is really small and I had to change 3 to 4 times for a medium sized piece of carpet. In addition, it took at least 2-3 days for the carpet to dry completely, which is longer than time advertised (probably because it was winter time).

Decent Carpet Cleaner
PROs: Good suction given its relative small size vacuum, lightweight, easy to manoeuvre, easy to clean filters
CONs: Quite loud, water tanks (both clean and dirty) are way too small and must refill few times just to clean area of 50 sqm, looks flimsy since material is made of plastic

Vax Rapide Fresh Carpet Cleaner
I just purchased this Carpet Cleaner from The Good Guys. I have used the now discontinued big brother of this model before with good results. I think this model is a re-release of an older Model Number as it is still available on the VAX website even though Product Review lists the VX30 as discontinued. This Cleaner is smaller in size with smaller water tank and dirty water tank but still performs well. It's best suited to flat carpets. I have a shaggy rug that it does clean well but as the shag pile is quite deep it does take some extra time to extract the water from the rug. However I'm still happy with this unit. Don't be fooled by its small size.

This product is a dud
This product did not work at all well at all. The "spray nozzles" only dribbles the water in lines onto the carpet, they sprayer appears to only be gravity feed and not pump driven so it is useless. The vacuum part appears to be ok though. Unfortunately the capacity of the dirty water storage container means that you have to keep filling and emptying all the time. All in all this product is a real DUD. Don't waste your money on this hunk of plastic as it's not worth the trouble to unpack from the carton.

VAX Carpet Shampooer VAX V-025 (Unpowered brush)
I bought this unit from Godfreys SPECIFICALLY asking for a "Powered rotary head" type not the clearly useless fixed brush type they had n display. The guy assured it was 700W and had multi line brush. There was no demonstrator unit. After getting it home, It was an Unpowered brush and so was useless - it is incapable of scrubbing carpetfloor. Suctionon these units is minimal and leaves carpet wet. On returning it to the Godfreys around the corner they refused it's return saying they are a franchise and that I had to return it to the other side...Read more
of town! Despite me being tricked into buying a this unpowered head one from GODFREY IN DONCASTER from Ari salesman! Sometimes the stereotypes on TV about vacuum salesmen are true! Cheap Unpowered brush is useless - it is incapable of scrubbing floor. Suction is minimal and leaves carpet wet.Similar opinion? Write a review on ieatwords.com.au!

Terrible product
Do yourself a favour and don't waste your money. Has weak suction, constantly gets blocked, the squirter stops squirting, the rotating brushes on the hand piece are about as useful as woodworm in a cripples crutch, its noisy. Stear clear of this one folks its about as reliable as a politician.
Smashing it on the driveway was fun.

Beware
Cleans carpet ok, but rotary brush motor electrical supply system burnt out just before warrenty expired, many parts needed to fix it. Repairer had it for four weeks and reassembeled it incorrectly. Had to fix it myself and now the warrenty has expired. Does not look good for the future. Not recommended.
It cleans carpets
Broke down after 4 carpet cleans and in just less than 12 months

Very happy with this carpet cleaner.
Very impressed with this carpet cleaner. We have a new puppy and so have had a few wee and accidents on our carpet. Each time I have used the Vac it has cleaned up the stains and left the carpet fresh smelling. A must product for those with a puppy!
Easy to use and reasonably priced (I purchased it in a sale for half price).

Excellent
Overall we think this is going to really help make our carpets cleaner! It got a lot of hair out of the carpet that we couldn't even see and brought the colour up great. The motorised brush really cleans and fluffs up the nap so the carpets feel really good afterwards. Our carpets are pretty old now and quite a light shade, and they look great. Given it's not a 'pro' level model we think it did a fantastic job and has really improved the look of the house.
We bought the Vax Rapide Deluxe because of the hair from the dog, doggy smells on the...Read more

Terrible
Customer service is a joke, my matter has been handed over to Department of Fair Trading to hopefully resolve it.
Great when it works.
When the product had a fault Vax was pathetic. It was only 2 weeks old and started leaking. Four weeks later they have not repair it and I have not been able to get any answers from Vax. If it was repaired promplty I would still be happy but they are not even capable of communicating with me. I recommend buying a competitors product purely because of the lack of customer service.

Could someone please tell me how to clean the skinny front part of the suction area as it collects gunk, I have only used this machine twice and both times had trouble getting it to work then when it did I am dissapointed, hard to clean, rang Vax they told me to unscrew all the plastic frobt which I did, still couldn't get right in to clean it, then putting back together was no fun at all, overall I am very dissapointed indeed, please Vax design needs attention.

An excellent question and it does show a design fault. What i do is use a satay stick to clean the majority, then take it outside and wash through with a hose. This works very effectively. It was a shame they didn't make it so it opened up - but that is the price for budget machines I guess.
Thank you for your reply, it is such a hassle to keep mucking about with it everytime you use the machine, and still it just omits a dribble not a spray grrrr
What i do is i take the machine outside turn the machine on its side get the hose and face the hose so that you are hosing up into that skinny section then just hose out all of the gunk, it works or me if you do this every time you use it you wont have extra dirt build up.
Have recently purchased vx Rapid Fresh VX 30 carpet washer are there any attachments for cleaning upholstery
1 answer
No, not as far as i know with the this Model, i think there is a Vax ultra that has some extra attachments but i not know that much about that particular washer,, this model is just a basic, quick and easy machine.
