NEEDS DESIGN UPGRADE MR. VAX
I hope I am talking about the right model. I thought this was the answer to cleaning my kitchen and
laundry floors but there are 3 things about it that bug me lots. First, to keep the machine operating you
ave to hold the 'on' switch all the time. Finger gets sore when doing a big job. Two, the cord is very long, which sounds fine except you have to hold it off the floor with your left hand, while pushing the machine with the right, holding onto the 'on' button as previously pointed out. The catcher for this job doesn't hold the cord ...Read more

Ruined my carpet
I found this steamer useless, it’s basically just a heavy mop, I used it twice on my carpet with the appropriate head & my carpet has lifted & now needs to be pulled back into shape, the carpet is only 4 years old. I would not recommend anyone to buy this product

Dont buy vax its a dud big time never heated just spat a spurt of steam in front of the triangular m
I agree with most of the comments and vax does nothing to assist their client base neither does the good guys.
An expensive item that failed to deliver. Definitely will not to consider that brand or associated electrical items in future. Mine never did heat up and I always had to wet the mop head prior to attaching or the floor would not even get damp. Had to email vax three times to extract the answer “does this steam mop get hot”

Works but poor value for money
Worked well, the cord was too short for house but easily solved with extension lead. Dry steam, never left streaks, but pads not effective and seemed to push dirt around rather than pick it up. Stopped working one month after warranty ended and nearest service centre over an hours drive away. It's an expensive purchase for only one year!

Not bad, but disappointed
Pro's
Triangular Head gets into spots marginally better than square heads
Dual tank for detergent and water
nice long cord
Con's
Pet pad is so think it doesnt really let the steam through and is very hard to push on wood floors
Glider is poor and doesn't let the microfibre pad "glide" at all
Trigger has a large movement range but only engages at the last few millimeter's and after 10 minutes you are struggling to keep it fully depressed
Conclusion - Keep looking.

Not a good product, quite disappointed considering my other vax products are great.
Used this product three times before it gave up the ghost (that was within a month of purchase) When it did work, it worked well and I was quite happy with the end result. However, when it stopped working, the happiness died (like the product itself) In fairness, Harvey Norman took it back and after a few weeks declared it was unfixable and refunded me fully the purchase price. So other than a bit of tyre tread and some wasted time and fuel, I ended up no worse off than when I first purchased it. I would not recommend this product to anyone as...Read more
my experiences of it, is that it is poorly put together and not reliable. I only have a small apartment, so I cannot understand how it could not have lasted longer than three one hour cleaning sessions? Take my advice and give this product a big fat miss!Similar opinion? Fused out the house electricity
Very disappointed with the Vax Steam Fresh Pet VX23. Maybe it's just that I have no luck with steam cleaners. This model didn't perform as I'd hoped from a company that I thought made quality steam cleaners. Never again. I think I'll go back to using a mop and bucket and add disinfectant to the water.

Money Wasted
First one stopped working in 4 usage then got the replacement from the company and 2nd one damaged in 1 week of even infrequent usage. Both of appliance's issues are almost identical. The heater which produces steam that becomes damaged. Harvey Norman did their part in regards to send the machine to the company and called us right in time when they got the new replacement. Poor parts. Extremely dissatisfied.

Major Blockage Problem
Have only used this product about 5 times since purchase in June 2016- the rest of the time it has been at the repair shop (twice) with a blockage that required a whole new part and the second time a totally new mop was provided. Although this was free under warranty, I am waiting to see what happens when the year is up. Actually works fine when not blocked, but obviously a product fault well known to Vax and they should stop selling it.

Don't waste your money!
Have previously owned a Haan and a Black & Decker steam mop, which unfortunately died just inside the warranty period As there wasn't another B & D available, the lovely people at Good Guys gave me a credit and I purchased this machine. If you have never owned a steam mop before, you might think its great. But if you have owned a decent one (the Haan was very good, B & D was great), then you'll realise this machine is hopeless. With my previous mops, the tiled floor was HOT after you passed over it with the mop, because there are multiple...Read more
steam outlets, not this one. It just squirts a small amount of steam out near the front and the microfibre mat spreads the moisture as you move forward. There is a power steam button, which will give intense steam horizontally from the front jet, which is ok for corners. The cleaning solution is great, but doesn't last long and costs $19.95 a bottle. I can clean most of the house on one tank. You can remove the main plate and there is a single brush row around the base, which is handy for turning on its side to scrub grouting. But the lack of steam application and the fact that you have hold the trigger in all the time for steam, are two huge negatives for me. Wish I had never bought it.Similar opinion? Great unit and easy to use
I love the fact that this steam mop uses detergent. I love the fact that my house is really clean. I bought an extra pack of mop pads and each room has its own colour-coded mop pad and this is really helped with any streaking which I think is caused by using the same head through out the house. I do like it you can fill the water tank anytime. All in all a great mop and when used correctly I think it's a great choice for anyone.

Don't bother
I have had 3 other steam mops, I have a fully tiled house, each did a good job with minimal streaking and all removed dirt from the floor after vacuuming. This steamer did not clean, it just pushed the surface marks around to another place, leaving huge streaks. I steam kitchen floor daily, so they don't get that bad, but after a 2 days the floor was in need of a clean and I thought I would have it sparkling. The pads seem the problem, they do not lift the dirt, they will not absorb, although the machine does not make enough steam to clean anything. I even bought extra pads as I know the pads need changing regularly. Give this one a miss. Glad I didn't waste money on an extended warranty.

disappointed don't bother
I've upgraded from the godfreys $50 home hero model to this model. It's much heavier and leaves water marks everywhere. It doesnt have a constant steam measure either. Ive discussed this with Vax Australia and they have no solutions. Im contemplating buying another cheapie model that did a far more superior job

Great for cleaning and makes the house smell great
Great product, it replaced our Vax Steam Home Master for steaming the floors.
I purchased this primarily for the disinfectant feature, which is also great at making house smell fresh!
We have two large dogs and tiled flooring and use this once a week covering an area in the region of 100m2 taking around 20 minutes each time.
Make sure you vacuum first and it is not a replacement for a mop, if you spill something you'll need to mop first; however, this gets off what most mops struggle with.
We found pine o clean floor cleaner (pomeg...Read more
ranate blossom is nice) as a disinfectant works wonders. The only negative is that the underneath of the water / disinfectant container fills with water / cleaning solution, and when you pick it up will leak / pour (probably 10ml) on the floor. I found tiling it before you put it away solves this then simply going over it again without pulling the trigger.Similar opinion? Write a review on ieatwords.com.au!

Big improvements
This mop is a big improvement on my old steam mop (also a Vax).
Positives:
- The mop uses minimal water: my entire house is tiled and I use only one tank of water for the whole house.
- The floors dry very quickly: You are able to walk on the floors only a few minutes after mopping. My previous Vax left wet patches that would take a while to dry.
- There is a scrub brush that you can detach from the standard head to scrub stubborn stains. Also the extra steam jet helps when removing stubborn stains
- It is not overly heavy
-Cord is a decent length
- Mop pads Velcro to the bottom of the mop so they are easy to replace
- The mop head and design of the pads allows you to get right up close to skirting boards and corners.

No steam out of the bottom, was working good its 4 weeks old. Any ideas?

The instructions recommend removing the head from he body and using a paperclip to clear the pathway. There are jets on the head that need to be done as well. I would not expect that a unit that is only 4 weeks old would need cleaning (unless you use it everyday) therefore I would suggest contacting the dealer or VAX Australia on 1300 631 505
Yes tried the clean thing. Could not get it to work... just a heap of crap waste of money and my time
