Great affordable product that does its job

published

This is a lightweight vacuum cleaner that's easy to handle and great for sucking up small and light items like hair on floors. Not too great at sucking up debris on uneven surfaces such as car seats but overall it's an affordable product and does its job when you stick to vacuuming floors.

Very bad compared to Dyson

published

Once finished vacuuming all the last bits to be vacuumed up, just fell out of the vacuum, clean filter and still does it. Very bad. My daughter has the Dyson and it is far better. Just don’t know what to do, especially after reading so many good reviews. Maybe mine is just faulty

So glad we got this vacuum

published

The battery life of this vacuum lasts a long time and the re charge of the battery doesn't take too long either.
The performance has been great. We have used it on carpet, tiles and rugs. The suction is so good that using it on a rug you need to stand on the rug to move the vacuum or you will be dragging the rub around with you

It's ok

published

The machine is light weight compared to other cordless ones I tried. Very easy to move and get under couches etc. The suck started off amazing but has slowly degenerated over time. It's 10 months old and starting to fall apart and has lost most of the suck. Expected to get more value out of it then I did. Glad it wasn't too expensive

Sux for floorboards

published

Bought this on the understanding it was for hard and carpet floors however the head scratched and damaged our wooden floorboards. Really disappointed obviously, and while I have since found out they have a different head designed for floorboards in the more expensive model, I feel that Vax should not advertise that this model can be used on all floor types. Otherwise was happy with it.

Good vacuume

published

Strong suction, easy to move over both carpet and hard floors. A little noisy though but a good reliable machine. I use it throughout my entire house and would recommend it to anyone wanting a solid vacuum. The only fault I can find us the clips are not very strong and I worry they may snap over time.

Great product!

published

Bought this as a gift for my GF but I am the one who uses it, it is a great purchase for $150 I prefer this over a DYSON (which I also have) the swivel on the head is great and seems to last 15-20mins and sucks dirt really well!

Good for flat floors

published

Very compact, light and user-friendly. The price was cheap compared to other similar vacuums. The charge lasts long and is quite enough to clean the whole apartment. However, it is not very powerful. It will clean dust from a flat floor like vinyl or laminate, but will be useless in case of a thick carpet.

Won't even sick up dead Flys

published

Without doubt the most disappointing product I have purchased for a very long time. Has never worked well from day one. I contacted VAX support and they kept insisting it was me not cleaning the filters, but I can assure you they were spotless. I suggested it could possibly be a seal which was causing the issue. But support send very disinterested in engaging in a conversation which may have involved a warranty claim. I would strongly recommend trying out other brands before considering this.

It's a godsent product

published

It is quiet and very light to move around and collects more than I thought possible. It is efficient on both tiles and carpet and quiet. It has only one flaw and that is the nos of filters that have to be cleaned regularly. It takes 8 hrs to charge fully and doesn't require a lot of storage space, which is great. My fur child doesn't attack it and feels comfortable to step around. Love it!

Light and quiet

published

Purchased this Vax so I didn't need to pull around a heavy barrell vac.
Is light, quiet, and easy to put together.
Battery takes hours to charge but lasts 22 minutes, long enough to do my two bedroom house.
Good suction and picks up long hair from the carpet instead of pushing it around like previous ones have.
Can be hard to take sections apart to clean without getting dust everywhere.

Have found this excellent

published

When on the market for a handheld vac it was hard not to spend 500$ plus on a Dyson. Having just had a baby we decided to save our money and buy this vacuum. We are really impressed. It works well on the tiles and on carpet. It picks up the dog hair and all the dust. I was worried about only having a 20 min battery - however never have run out of power while. I do downstairs one day upstairs the next. Would recommend

Absolutely useless!!

published

Suction is appalling, don't waste money on this Vacuum, very disappointed!!! Will never buy Vax again. Hasn't worked properly since the day I got it, emailed a complaint and never received a response, wasn't cheap so many on the market to chose from and really annoyed I chose this one.

So convenient, easy to use, great suction

published

I was reluctant to trade in my Dyson and go for a stick vacuum as I didn't think it would have enough power, but I was wrong its awesome and the battery last long enough to do the whole house and now that i'm in a townhouse its just so much easier to take up and down the stairs. I love it.

Great value for money!

published

I use this as the main vacuum in my 3 bedroom house. I love it, it is great for my back as it is easy to manouvere. The battery could last a little longer but as its not an expensive vacuum I am very happy with the suction as long as you keep up with cleaning the filters I have had no loss of suctions.

Really disappointed

published

Bought this vax vac to make life easier yet it has been the complete opposite. It only operates for a very short time..then once the suction stops, whatever was last sucked up - falls out! I now need to ensure i turn it off over the bin! Frustrating. Is doesn't have much guts either.

I like it !

published

It has a very good suction and runs for at least 15 minutes. Much better than the traditional ones because it is cordless. The bin capacity is 0.4 L. Ideally for a small property because you need to keep it on a charge to use it again after 15-20 min. I use it to vacuum my car too which it does perfectly.

Perfect for a small place !

published

Good value for money product when compared to Dyson and other vacuum range. Easy for a quick clean up. It is just perfect for small apartments as it works for 20 minutes only and need to charged after that for to use again. Not ideal for a big house. Go for it if you live in an apartment. :)

Cheap and noisy

published

Ok suction but the spinner in the head only works when it wants to. Worked fine for Harvey Norman's staff member (who was about 15 and I doubt knew very much about vacuum cleaners) so we just put up with it. Really should have just saved up and bought the Dyson. Won't buy from Harvey Norman again either.

I have a Vax V51 model slim upright and I have lost the charger cable/plug. I have found one on Ebay but it is $40 with postage. Does anyone know of an alternative for charging this model and is this the usual price for a replacement charger? Thanks.

Has any one had a problem with the little rubber thing inside the where the wand attaches to the cylinder closing over while you are vacuuming therefore nothing gets picked up.
All the stuff just sits in the wand part as it cant get through to the cylinder.
