the product performance is satisfactory
The Vax vacuum cleaner I purchased six months ago and I have had no trouble with it. It is easy to use and well suited for a small house like mine. The size is not very bulky and easy to store. I am satisfied with the product.
Purchased in January 2021 at Harvey Norman for $129.00.

bad bad bad
12 months old and the battery wont charge. this machine has given poor performance for the time used (it is only a second use vac for the small jobs at home) the cylinder head doesnt revolve any more beecause the battery doesnt provide enough power. called the vax line for a replacement, poor performance from customer service reps, onlty wanted to pass the buck and send me back to the retailer, even thought the product is still within warranty period. no help whatsoever. better to spend the extra for the dyson i think.
Purchased in February 2021 at Bunnings Warehouse.

Poor suction and construction. No response to online message. Poor warranty service and conditions
Only 4 months old. Poor suction, debris remains attached to the outside of floor tool. Flimsy construction with flex in all connections. Hard floor tool has rubber "wiper" that serves to drag debris across floor with potential for scratching. Not recommended for polished wooden floors. Plastic trash bin retaining clip broke (flimsy); now has to be taped up to operate vacuum cleaner. Warranty service required 40 minute drive each way with no guarantee issue would be covered. Courier only available if over 50km from a service centre. Cannot in any way recommend the product or after sales "service". Online message to Vax remains unanswered over 2 weeks after being sent.
Purchased in January 2021.

Not bad so far
I bought the VX53P using a combination of reward points and cash. It comes with quite a range of tools including a brushbar head for carpets, a hard floor tool, a slim 3-in-1 tool, a jointed up-top tool, a pet/stair tool, a wall holder and an accessory bag. I selected this model for the hard floor tool as we do not have fitted carpets. After first use was disappointed that the end of this tool came adrift, however took it to the (only) authorised repairer in WA who reglued it on the spot. Since then have been no further problems. Am impressed ...Read more
with the suction power, especially for pet hair - I use the brushbar head without the stick and it picks up hair better from upholstery and cat pillows than my aging Dyson handheld vac. Also impressed with the battery life which seems to be the 40 mins as advertised, however I only use it for short periods so hard to say. I like the lock catch near the on button which means you don't need to hold it on while you vacuum. Aspects that I am not so keen on - the location of the on switch makes it hard to pick it up by the handle without accidentally turning it on, the design of the handle may make it uncomfortable to use for long periods if you were vacuuming in high places, the brushbar head rotates while using which could be annoying if using for larger areas. So far it seems to be a reasonably good vacuum that is convenient for quick clean ups.Similar opinion? Write a review on ieatwords.com.au!

Great vacuum
We recently bought the vax vx53 and are quiet pleased with our purchase. I have used other stick vacuums in the past but I really like how this machine is super light weight and has so many attachments for different surfaces. I mostly use it for hard surfaces and quick clean ups but I am really pleased that I can vacuum a rug or bathroom mats without it being sucked up into the machine. The machine is a little noisy but it is a good indication the remind me to clean out the filter.
Overall a great product for a great price.

Frustrated
I was given this as a gift as I wanted a Dyson but this was cheaper option.
I love the idea but mine does not lift much and then when you turn it off half of the dirt falls out.
We have tried everything.
I wonder if I ‘ve had a faulty one.
Cheaper but waste of money .
I keep trying .
Not very time saving for me so very disappointed.

Vax great to start with
We purchased this in May by July it had lost it’s sucking power, it was fantastic to start with an easy to clean except when taking out the inn part with the seal this can be a bit tricky to get back on. It was a fantastic vacuum to start but not worth buying for long term use.

Exactly what I was after - very convenient
I hate to admit it, but I'm lazy! And I just can not be bothered pulling out the big vacuum and plugging it in just to pick up a bit of dust or a few stray hairs in the bathroom.
Enter the Vax VX53 (I bought the purple version) - it's easy to grab for those quick cleans - but also powerful enough to do my whole flat. I doubt I'll need my cord vacuum much if at all any more. All of the attachments are great too and the main body of the cleaner pulls apart for easy cleaning. I also love that you can latch the on switch to on all the time.

Great for quick clean ups!
I purchased this as an alternative to a Dyson handheld to use for cleaning up pet hair on the couch and floors. Its feels like a sturdy unit and works well. It comes with all sorts of attachments and mounts well on the wall while charging. There are two issues I have with the design. One is the positioning of the on and off switch, when I try to get it off the mount, I always accidentally switch it on. The other is the movable brush head. As you use the brush head, it swivels around which is good for weaving around things on the floor, but not ...Read more
great for the couch as I have to hold it firm to keep it from moving around. For the price $150, I think its still good value and would recommend it to others that want a cheaper alternative to Dyson.Similar opinion? Write a review on ieatwords.com.au!

Excellent cordless vacuum with a few down sides.
Like most people, I considered the dyson V6 but bought this one instead because it was cheaper and came with several different attachments including a hard floor tool which is basically a head with squeegees on the sides. After having It for almost three months, I don’t regret my decision. There are a few things that concern me however.
First the good. This thing has excellent suction. The power floor head has a rotating brush which picks up dirt and dog hair from carpet and rugs on the first go. The hard floor tool works really well on til...Read more
es and lino. The dusting brush that is part of the 3 in 1 tool works better than I would have thought, but I use it mainly to vacuum dog hair from the couches. The vacuum is light and so easy to use that I vacuum the house a lot more often than with the old corded vacuum. The battery lasts 20 minutes which is enough for me to do the whole house, and the battery charges in about 5 hours. Like the Dyson V6, this vacuum works with a trigger, but unlike the V6 it has a switch to keep it on without having to hold down the trigger. It’s not something I thought I’d use but it really helps to take the strain off your hands. Now the bad. The long tube wobbles at the point where it attaches to the vacuum and this is the case with all the vax cordless vacuums I looked at. The tube clicks into place and doesn’t come off on its own, but the fact that it wobbles feels like it’s not built as well as the Dyson models.Similar opinion? Write a review on ieatwords.com.au!

Great for Inbetween Vacuum's
I really like this slim vac, it is perfect for in-between vacuums and to clean up small dirt trails or dog fur! I have a small-medium unit and it can easily vacuum the lounge room with a great result. It is easy to use and very easy to empty out.

Wish I had purchased sooner
Good little cordless vacuum - it is very easy and convenient to use. I find I easily pull it out to clean up little messes. Doesn't replace a full vacuum but great to tidy up. Good suction and easy to empty. Good battery life. Would have given 5 stars but the head is a little light and swivels too easily. I have seen other machines with more sturdy heads.

Best cordless vaccum for the price - Made in Aus
Recommend and very happy with performance of Total Home and range of attachments. Dyson motor is double the weight and $500 to $600 more and does not have a permanent "On" switch. Little noisy but that comes with the cordless I guess. All packaging was recyclable (except 2 rubber bands) and very happy to support a fully Aus made product. why choose an import!

Has its pros and cons
Its an ok vac for a cordless. Its a great grab and go option thats light and not to loud. Much easier and less hassle to clean up the kids mess then getting out the proper vacuum cleaner.
Also good for a quick clean of the car to pick up grass and food crumbs.
The attachments come in handy but I only really use the main floor head, dusting and narrow attachments.
It doesnt really do much for my carpets or rugs and if the spinning motorhead is turned off it really doesn't work well anywhere (inc floating floorboards and tiles).

attery is excellent. I can vacuum my whole house excluding the bedrooms without the battery running out (average-ish 3 bedroom home). After using a friends V8 Dyson cordless.... I definitely regret buying the Vax. The sales person really had something against dyson and convinced me they were the same thing. I now know that is not the case. Great Product
Easy to use. Don't have to hold switch down like other similar products (e.g. Dyson). Great to use on carpets and hard floors. Easy to empty. Lightweight compared to other products. Many attachments are supplied. Can be used on stairs, curtains and furniture. Best product I have ever bought. Would recommend this product to anyone.

Hi there,
Sorry to hear that, I have never had any problems like this. Is there any suction at all? If not, it could be a problem with a seal. If you are using the power brush, make sure that it is turned on and that it spins freely by removing any hair. I suggest taking it back to where you purchased it from and get them to have a look.
Thanks for that
Unfortunately left it too late
Kept hoping it would work.
Mine broke after 3 months. Took it back for a refund, the shop said it had to go for repair. Report came back dirt had bypassed the filter and clogged motor. Said this wasn't covered under warranty. I'm currently pursuing case with Vax

Vx53p has anyone bought this just to use on hardwood floors?

IIt may be a little late now, but I bought this vacuum mainly to do hard floors. It comes with a hard floor tool which is basically a head with squeegees on the sides. I find it works really well, even picking up dirt in between tiles.
