Started off great then nothing but noise
Have a 2 month old and this unit was great. Then a last night it started tripping out breakers and spitting hot water on my daughter. Water was well below fill line. I would like an updated model or something to keep our business. Thank you

Particles in the water
New and Need for my Asthma. Called hotline for email and I couldn't really talk but asked for the email to send pictures and ask questions through email. The woman refused (literally) and I wasn't given an email.
I use filtered water. It worked but left lots of particles of black in the water. I now hav decided the smaller particles it produces are likely in the vaporized air it produces.

Perfect. Inexpensive and Effective
If you have trouble getting it to work add a tbsp of table salt. It works exactly as it should, and quickly adds moisture to the room. I prefer this type of humidity to the fancy cool mist ones with a filter because I am allergic to mold and the filters get moldy. This model is easy to clean with vinegar and mild soap to prevent scale build up. You can hear the water steaming though so if you want silence this isn't what your looking for

This has become a necessity for me.
I have been using this since 2016 and it is still doing great until now. We use it almost every night, even in summer and when necessary, throughout the night because of allergies and nasal congestion. I use 2-3 drops of essential oil. However, the youngest family member is 11 years old. I highly recommend it but sorry to hear poor reviews from others.

Waste of money! Rubbish
Bought this vaporiser over a month ago and it has already short circuited and does not work. Spent $60 plus $10 for the vapour steam and cant even get a replacement or refund because I do not have the proof of purchase (receipt) anymore, even though I have my warranty! Was the only thing helping me sleep with congestion and now there goes my hard working money down the drain! Should have studied reviews before purchasing as this is a common occurrence with Vicks products. Bloody terrible and will never purchase any Vicks items again! So disappointed and frustrated!

Poorly designed!!
There was no consumer thought process put into this product.

Was great, but can’t use as it trips my power :(
First time I’ve ever used one so went for the trusty Vick’s, loved it but have only used max 10 x and now he shorts my power. Which is really frustrating as I have a very congested 5 month baby girl who has not been able to sleep and this mumma needs sleep too and it was the only thing that helped and now it’s broken !

Steam Vaporiser Tripped House Circuit Breaker Dangerous
Bought this steam vaporiser and used it for about 2 years and still working until middle of winter season which was quite disappointing. It kept tripping the house circuit breaker many times. It is very dangerous and can damage the house potentially!! This item has 5 years warranty but if it becomes faulty, claiming the warranty process takes forever!!

Best purchase I’ve made!
After my baby spending nights awake from coughing and not being able to breathe I purchased one of these vaporizers and I am so glad that I did! No more sleepless nights when my little one is sick. It’s so quiet, sometimes I have to check if it is even on, not sure how some reviews say it sounds like a boiling kettle (which made me weary about buying it) because it doesn’t. Seriously a life saver!

Yet another unit tripping power....
I bought the Vicks Warm Steam Vaporiser less than 4 months ago to help with my baby's cold / overnight coughing.
At first, it worked great and we saw a noticeable drop in the frequency of overnight coughing.
As of earlier this week we went to use it again as our son developed another cough...and it now trips the safety switch. Every single time we try to use it.

Faulty Batch? - Power Safety Switch keeps Tripping - Electrical Safety Hazard + Noisy & Hot!

After about 1 week of use each evening for my children and following all recommended procedures, the device now continues to trip the residual current safety switch circuit in the electrical meter box. I plan on returning the device tomorrow during business hours.

I bought mine approximately 5 years ago and it's still going strong. It bubbles away softly which is nice for white noise and lasts the entire night. Only downsides is it can be difficult to take the top off & it is dripping wet when you do. The top part is the plug, so you can't just leave it and take the bottom away to refill, you have to either have a towel to lie the top part on, or take the entire vapouriser with you to the sink. Excellent vapouriser for baby
Bought this for my baby when he had a bad cough and would wake during the night. Worked fantastic and he slept through the night with it. Long run time for 12-14 hours. Highly recommend

Are you fully closing the bedroom door at night? You need to keep the door slightly open to allow for some air flow, otherwise excess condensation is very common. You will still get some moisture (that's the nature of this hot steam device) but it shouldn't be so bad with some air circulation. Hope this helps? Kind Regards, Vicks.
Yes I always leave all my doors wide open. Circulation isn’t a problem.

That's unusual, are you filling it past the fill line? That can cause "spurting" from the steam vent and could account for the water on the floor. we haven't heard of a Vicks Vaporizer causing such excess moisture on opposite walls before, however. Especially if you are leaving the door open. You're welcome to give us a call to chat through the issue a bit further, or to discuss getting a warranty return if you think it's faulty.

It's mineral residue from your tap water. It's normal, harmless and should just be washed away when you rinse your vaporizer. Make sure you're regularly cleaning the inside according to the instructions, because the mineral scale can begin to build up inside and affect the performance over time.
