Yep, you have to hold the button, then pull the lever back. Thanks for the feedback, much appreciated.

How do you remove the batter from the mower; and how do you remove the battery from the Charger?

Push the white plastic flap down. The first time you do it it snaps and you think that you have broken it but you haven’t. Should be easy to slide out of mower then. It should just slide out naturally from the charger. Cheers

What great timing in needing a new lawnmower. After much research decided on a 82v Power cut Battery mower. So, there is none available anywhere. They are all sitting in isolation with possible battery problems. No one seems to know how long for. I believe this has been going on for weeks now. Not really good enough. must be losing some sales. Now I am looking at other brands. slow action seems to be apathy.

How do I get the 82v battery out of the charger?

It should just slide out. It isn't retained in the charger by any clip. It's only held there by gravity.

Thanks, it’s really tight and I have arthritic hands. I’ll keep trying.

Hi why have all the Victa 82v kits disappeared of the shelves.

As far as I know they have not. They are still online at bunnings and I saw stocks at bunnings the other day. Anyway I have enough batteries and chargers to last me a long time. I have a few of the 82V gardens tools. I always bought the garden tool with the charger and battery, so I have spares.

Same at our local Bunnings. I noticed a pole pruner has been added to the 82 volt line, so I assume they are continuing with this format.

i just went to my Bunnings and they have no kits of the 82v and selling skin only. Im not sure why and they have stated all the 82v batteries are under recall but do not no why. Anyone have any further information?

Hi Anna,

There may be an issue with your charger or battery, may I ask that you take it to one of our dealers with the product you are using it on for review.

Here is a link to our dealers so you can hopefully find your nearest dealer.

Why can't this cordless mower be repaired? Two Victa repairers have told me to "throw it away", as they don't repair electric motors. Something Victa doesn't tell you when you make your purchase. I am told that it a problem with the electronics, as the motor and bearings and are OK. Can anybody help - it just starts and stops after about 5 seconds?

I just bought a new 82v battery and put on charger, how long does it take to charge fully and does it tell you on the charger?

It takes less than two hours to charge (although I've never timed it!). The green light on the charger flashes during charging, then goes out when fully charged. You can check the condition of the battery by pushing the button on the face of the battery. The leds will all light up when fully charged.

How old is the battery? If it's under warranty, I'd take it straight back to the retailer. If it's old, and has been successfully charged previously, then it may need replacement. I'm assuming that you are placing the battery in the charger properly??

The battery is very difficult to install into the battery bay, particularly on the mower. It requires a good shove to get it to lock in. It may be this simple. Likewise it's hard to get out, and the metal clip that holds it in needs a good hard push to release it.

I'm assuming the battery shows four led lights after charging, etc?

Blueglow
Blueglow

As big-m stated make sure you have pushed the battery in until it clicks and can not be pulled out. Just for info when removing the battery push the battery in against the spring tension then press the metal clip. Much easier. If the battery is installed properly. Sorry if you know this but when starting first hold the blue safety button in and then while still pushing the safety button in squeeze the start handle in. The motor should slowly start (it has a soft start system. Then release the blue safety button but keep holding the handle in. I do not leave my battery in the mower when not in use. You may have dirty battery terminals. Try pushing the blue safety switch in several times to clean terminals. If any of these do not help I guess return to the retailer.

I found the same thing happen to me!!! Embarrassing at the time because I was showing a friend how good the mower was and then, couldn't start it! I hadn't used the mower for a while and couldn't get it through to my thick head that I needed to depress the blue button first - before pulling on the handle lever. I was doing it the other way around. Once I got the sequence right - away we went! Yes I know - first class dummy to say the least!

I have just bought the Victor 18'' battery mower but i can't get the battery in the battery compartment. It is fully charged. I have read an answer stating that it needs a bit of a push to get it in but i am concerned that if i use too much pressure i may compromise the warranty. Also the manual states that there is a 'latch on the bottom of the battery'. I'm confused i can't find it. Can anyone help?

Yes, there is a metal latch at the top of the battery compartment which is very tight. It does take a fair push to get it to lock in. There is no latch at the bottom of the battery. The latch requires a fairly hard push to make it release the battery as well, but you will know when it is released because the battery pops out a couple of centimeters. I have the chainsaw as well, but the latch seems much easier on that. I hope this helps!

I agree with big-m. The battery does seem to require an extra hard push to get it to insert. As far as releasing it again - I was very surprised at how hard I needed to push down on the release clip! In fact when it does release. it does so suddenly and the considerable pressure and energy applied at the time transfers to my thumb (which is what I tend to use) which then sometimes produces something akin to receiving a small shock to the thumb joint. Don't know if anyone else experiences this as well. I'd be interested to know if they do.

Push the battery in slightly and hold while pushing the release lever, will come out much nicer.

Can I leave the 82 v battery on the powered charger when not in use?

Yes, I have inadvertently left one on for weeks with no ill effect. The charger measures the battery voltage and only charges as necessary.

Waz

Depends how long - if it isn't to be used for a considerable period of time - say over winter - take the battery off the charger and store the battery at a reduced rate of about a third the normal charge..

I bought a power outlet timer from Target so I can charge to 3 bars instead of full. To help extend the life of the battery. Bonus is you can leave the battery in the charger. Get the simple countdown timers. Digital timers too fiddly to programme.

Mine is over a year old and cuts low enough for me. Any lower would scalp the grass, which, from my observation, some people seem to like to do.

I have a 82v victa that starts for about 10 seconds then stops and starts beeping, The batteries I use work in my victa whipper sniper. Frustrating only used the mower a few times

if the battery works in your whipper sniper for 20 min, then there is something wrong with the Mower. You will have to ask at the place where you bought it. My whipper sniper works for about 20-30 min, and the Mower for 20-30 min too. LOL, I did not time it, butI get my back yard and front done with the sniper which is about 70 linear meters...
I hope that helps

Take it back to the retailer who are obligated to arrange for repairs or replacement.

The keys may be available from a USA source as the mower is the same as the Snapper XD 82V MAX Electric Cordless 21-Inch Lawnmower, sold on Amazon and other sites.

Yes I've tried to return it but they have said to take it elsewhere..for a victa repairer. .n they dont do electric. So a big fat loss of money as it's a country town so no options.
