Bought one, then bought a second. Enough said.
I have a 'smart TV' that probably will never be updated, that was having all sorts of issues running Netflix and Plex. Bought one of these direct from Vodafone, and it's been great. So good in fact I got another one to smarten up an old dumb tv. We also have a HD Homerun so can use that to watch live tv, rather than the built in tuner. They recently updated to Android 9.0 which is good, and has been very stable although admittedly we don't ask much of it. If you want a really good Android TV box then you should probably spend the extra and get ...Read more
an Nvidia Shield. That costs maybe four times more than this though. The only strange thing that it doesn't directly support yet is Amazon Prime video. Netflix, Disney, Stan, Plex, sure. Amazon - nope. There are ways to get it on with mixed reports on how successful it is, but for now the best way is simply to cast Prime from a mobile device. Basically, it's not a great android tv box but it's definitely a good one. For the price, it's hard to beat.

Works OK a bit quirky at times
Works OK some times need to restart to get Video Right (Might be the older tv it is connected to)
Netflix, Stan, Disney+ and catch up works well, TV Tuner and TV Guide a bit slow but for $69 (Now $72 i think) good value for a genuine Android TV BOX
Also streams great from my media server.

proper Android TV box that's supurb value and not locked down
Similar to Guy Stevens review here, at just $72 I would rate this the best budget Android box in the Australian market in 2020. And you don't have to be a Vodafone customer. Anyone can buy it.
Pros
- Runs Android TV for streaming - and its a proper Google licenced "Android TV" box, so apps from popular streaming services like Netflix are officially supported and won't suddenly stop working as they often do on generic Android boxes.
- Not locked or crippled like Telstra has done with their Roku box, so it has most of the flexibility of generic ...Read more

Android TV 9 Pie update killed it!
Amongst many other bugs, the latest update has removed the use of its USB for NTFS formatted external hard drives. Now useless to me and have requested a refund. Avoid!

Best value Android TV box on the market
Pros
- Runs Android TV for streaming
- TV card tuner included
- Not locked so will run any Android app, including Kodi, not just those from the Play Store
- Excellent zippy remote
- Fully licensed for Google, Netflix etc (unlike cheap Chinese boxes) with L1 Widevine support
- Chromecast built-in
- 2.4/5ghz wifi and ethernet port

- Low disk storage (8gb) but can be expanded via the USB port - Amlogic 905 processor + 2gb ram = average hardware performance - No auto frame-rate switching - Basic TV guide and limited recording function This combined streaming TV/set-top box is a bargain. At $72 it's worth it just for Chromecast. It runs Google's Android TV for easy navigation and untold streaming options - Netflix, Youtube, Amazon, etc, as well as Kodi and much more. The remote is great and picture quality good, though home cinema buffs might want to opt for a top-end box like the Nvidia Shield. For most viewing though, this box is terrific, with 4-star performance, but it gets an extra star for exceptional value.Purchased in June 2021 at Vodafone for A$72.00.

Wish I never had
I have had to contact them a number of times. I am using a wifi connectors and these seam to have a extremely limited range of 10 Mtrs and continue to drop out and loose connection add to this a lot of the content I wish to record wont record. Also forwarding and rewinding functions are not user friendly.

Terrible product and service.
Terrible product and service from Vodafone Macarthur store. The manager was extremely rude and unhelpful. Did not give a refund. DO NOT BUY THIS PRODUCT. If faulty, and it is most likely, they will send for repairs or give a replacement. Waste of time and money.

Fantastic Product
I've had a smart tv for several years but recently I've been looking at other options that are quicker and more powerful - enter the Vodafone tv.
The Vodafone tv is a mighty quick unit - seriously more responsive and powerful than what is in the 2013 tv I use. The inclusion of the Chromecast in the unit makes this amazing value and it ensures that I can access any service I need whether its available on Google TV or not.

Very disappointed with Vodafone
Very disappointed with this as when we got the receiver, wont work. Was told to take to our local branch in Carnes Hill branch. When we got there, they told us to go to Liverpool branch. Went there but they told us to contact Vodafone and get a receipt number.Rang them and was transfered from one person to another and wanted us to pay. After nearly 2 hours, we managed to arrange one for free which we are still waiting. Very disappointed with Vodafone.

Best bang for buck android box you can buy in AU stores.
For $72 you get a small box capable of doing lots. 4k, HDR, Netflix, Stan, YouTube, catchup TV, FTA tuner, Kodi, and 4k Chromecast. Add to that 24 month warranty and its hard to go wrong. The remote is great, it's a quick interface, and more than capable of meeting most consumers needs. I bought another two of these for family members and they to are very happy with the device

Easy to set up and use. Does all that I wanted.
The original price of these android TV boxes seemed a bit high to me, but I bought one after a price reduction to $72. I've only used it for a short while but it looks good value at that price and allows you to access internet TV / streaming sites without needing to upgrade to a new TV.
Basic set up was easy and took less than 10 minutes. After that you need to use the Google Play store (on the box) to install any extra apps for whichever streaming services you use (iView, Stan, Amazon etc).
The Foxtel app isn't available on the Google p...Read more
