Great suv
Liking out latest purchase, cheap to run, has a few luxury features. We are retired now so don’t use daily. Keyless start easy to get used to. Have added a tow bar ready for taking the boat out

Not quite a family car
I purchased a Volkswagon Tiguan 162 TSI with the r-line package, sunroof and sound and vision package. The car looks great, and is comfortable to drive. The sound and vision upgrade was a definate must have. Unfortunately, once we had our first child we have found it to be a little too small. The car seat fits; however, limits the room for the front seat passenger. Once the pram is in the boot there is very little room for anything else. In addition to this, we experienced a few issues with a number of warning lights within the first few months...Read more
. The engine light came on and the car dumped all of its oil due to an issue with the o-ring on the dipstick. The car has had 2 warranty claims. I do really enjoy driving this car but it's size and the issues experienced means it isn't quite up to scratch.
Purchased in August 2021.

Stick to Japanese reliability instead
I don't know where to begin other than to first open with the fact that one should objectively consider a car's reliability second only to safety of course. And with that the Japanese/Korea have it and that is exactly what I SHOULD have bought.
The car is comfortable with tech and safety features that are great. I wanted a safe and reliable car for the family. I soon realised I only got part of that equation right:
- door hinge became loose and had to be retightened several months after use. I told the dealership head mechanic to use loctite/...Read more
thread locker to ensure that wouldnt happen again. - LED module sunroof recall - pano sunroof leaking water into the cabin shortly after 1 year. Headlining in the process of being replaced under warranty due to water damage and several attempts to clean the stains first. - A flat battery leaving us stuck despite the battery having literally been tested 1-2 weeks earlier as part of a service which according to the dealer had not indicated any issues. - creaking park brake All of the above causing headaches, frustration and wasted time and effort. I wont go into detail about how difficult working with the dealer was in resolving all of the above - a lot of which was unnecessary and in conjunction with the issues above within such a short-period of ownership (just over a year) has now sworn me off the brand.

OVER PRICED RUBBISH
We purchased a 2014 132 TSI Pacific, 7 speed DSG with only 58,000km's five months ago and have had nothing but problems with it.
Initially, our insurer advised us that Tiguans are really over priced in the used car sector so be careful what you buy.
In five months, the car has been back to the dealer for leaking oil at the bottom of the engine near the timing chain, timing chain tension replacement, transmission problems and sunroof jamming.
$20,000 down the drain if you ask me when you have this many problems. Should have bought a Hyundai or Kia I think.
Purchased in June 2021 for $19,990.00.

Tiguan- major issues.
Bought brand new fully optioned Highline with R-line package. Loved the car, perfect in every way until......after 4 months and about 3,000kms the following issues started: Major DSG problems- harsh grinding noises during gear changes which needed mechantronics replacement- still hasn't completely fixed the problem (which the dealer actually tried to charge me for- big $$$$). Shortly after this the cooling system went, left me stranded in a pool of coolant- apparently the radiator cracked- (it was a 22 degree day). Took 4 weeks to get parts and...Read more
complete the work (no courtesy car of course). Few weeks later 4motion AWD issues- the car started sounded like an "ex-taxi" diff when de-accelerating. VW were adamant it was "normal characteristics". Electric seat adjustment just stopped working. Rain sensing wipers couldn't tell the difference been monsoon rain and fog (apparently that is normal). To top it off VW dealer and head office couldnt be more useless if they tried and would actually try charge me for warranty repairs on a car less than 6 months old. My first and last car from the VW group. I feel sorry for anyone who owns one after warranty runs out. $$$$Similar opinion? Write a review on ieatwords.com.au!

European quality and safety
If you are looking for a quality car, with European safety don’t go past the Tiguan Comfortline. Volkswagen’s focus on safety is paramount so if you value this, more that fancy trinkets, this is your car.

Great quality and practical 7 seater. Killer engine.
2 months and 2000km into ownership of our high line 162 tsi high line with sound and vision, panoramic sun roof and R line pack. All positive, interior quality is high, and the engine especially in sports mode goes like the clappers. The extra 2 seats in the rear don’t offer enough room for adults for long trips but have come in handy for the kids and their friends. Shopped around for a while before buying and for the features at the price nothing compared. Love it!

Tiguan 162 TSI RLINE 2022
Bought this to replace a Passat as easier to get in and out of at my age. Is very easy to drive and very comfortable to travel in.
Has adjustable suspension settings for Sport or Comfort etc
Is very well appointed and has a myriad of electronic functions.
We just use it for occasional running around and the odd trip of 100km or more.
Is reasonably economical but uses 95 octane so a little more expensive to run
Only had it for 5 months and no problems so far
Purchased in March 2021 for $57,300.00.

Economical and a joy to drive
With the added luxury pack and driver assistance pack, the interior is not unlike the R-spec high line, and the added features are definitely worth the money. Electronic dash, 360 cameras, lane assist and blind spot warning are all used regularly, and self park works like a dream. Lots of space for rear passengers too, and the elevated seats mean no more car sickness in the back. The adjustable rear seats are very handy when needing more boot space, and still allow adults to sit in the back seats. Only design flaw is the position of the front a...Read more
nd rear cameras/sensor (front sensor is critical for using auto cruise control). Both are obstructed by mud and rain droplets, which are usually present during weather conditions when driver assistance would be beneficial for safety! FEEL LIKE I HAVE DONE THE BEST PURCHASE EVER
I just purchased this car about a month ago. It is mainly used for daily commute - for work.
My family and I just love how spacious this Allspace edition Tiguan is. It is a 7-seater but when you do not need that extra two seats (mostly meant for children), you get a bigger boot space!
We are happy with the luxury, driving assistance and sound and vision packs too. These packs make driving a more pleasant thing to do and it helps heaps with the parking too! The panoramic sunroof is another bonus to the car!
I would definitely recommend people to get this car if they want something that is not too expensive yet feels expensive!

Best Car I've Owned
This is our weekend car. Its used mostly by my partner. We have already had the screen replaced under warranty and had the Panoramic Sunroof harness changed under a service campaign. But the car is great. Made in Germany.

Good, quick and and mostly reliable car
Got the 2010 125kW TSI Tiguan some 9 years ago. Good acceleration (best among SUV), car like dynamics (compared to other SUV). Average city mileage. Not without flaws. Battery changed when 5 yo. Tyres changed at only 40K. A major issue was the water pump when 8 year old (an expensive $1400 service). Quite thirsty in town(11/100), economy increases greatly (8/100) on the freeway. Supercharger getting noisy lately. Would i buy another? If handling and road manners are important, then yes, if luxury and cabin comfort are more important, than my wife's CRV feels/ looks better.

Volkswagen Tiguan 5N Highline Worst car Ive owned very disappointing.
2/10. Worst new car iv owned.
While using the cruise control it will track and pace the car in the right-hand lane, So when youre travelling in the centre lane, For example if there is no vehicle in front of me and Im doing 100 but the vehicle in the right-hand lane is doing 80... the car will slow down and paste the car in the right-hand lane. Spoke to Volkswagen they said this is how the cruise control operates and cannot be changed. Terrible. I found myself travelling in the furthest right-hand lane to avoid this which is not good road pr...Read more
actice. We had a groaning sound coming from the front and I took it to Volkswagen and they said they would not fix it until the next service because it was a big job so we had to put up with it for 14,000 km. They expressed this is quite common throughout the Volkswagen Tiguan range apparently. Our car was diesel, so not only did the car not meet the fuel consumption guidelines Volkswagen publish we also had to use an additional fluid called adblue. 10L tank that was expressed would last from one service to another (15000km) however we ended up filling it up approximately every 6000 to 7000 km. The low adblue warning comes on approximately 2000 km remaining, And until you fill this up you will get a warning every single time you start your car and have an warrning light shining the whole time until you fill this up. However, the Volkswagen dealership told me you cannot add more of this until the car is requesting it if you put it in before the car is requesting it, it will not know how much quantities left this could become very difficult if you are planning a long trip and your car starts requesting the fluid and you dont have the opportunity to put any in. If this adblue runs out your car will not start and will need to be towed to a service dealership. There was a recall with the sunroof from Volkswagen, whilst removing the sunroof they damage the rubber surround and then refused to repair it claiming it was unavoidable with the recall repairs set out by VW.Purchased in June 2021 for $66,500.00.

Love It
I bought my 2017 Tiguan froma gentleman who had owned it for about 12 months. It is lovely to drive, very comfortable and has all the features you would expect.
I like the way it handles and the reversing camera. perhaps I was easy to please I had previously owned a Polo which was a wondeful car too. The Tiguan has great seating positions so is very comfortable for a long drive.

I just LOVE my New VW Tiguan Special Edition Wolfsburg 4WD SUV!!!!
I purchased this car from VW Ringwood about 3 weeks ago now. I live in Rural Victoria. I just love this car and all the many safety features that come with it. I purchased it as my retirement car after looking at many, many reviews. Beautifully made - fantastic to drive - and I am still working out the many safety features that this vehicle comes with. It is early days - but so far - excellent. One small down side - to disengage the Stop/Start Feature (This is the feature where when you are in heavy traffic the motor turns off to save fuel when...Read more
you are stopped - and once you touch the accelerator off it goes again) each time you start the vehicle you have to press the button on the console that then disengages this function. I would have preferred an option to turn it off permanently - and be able to turn it back on if you find that you ever need it. Other than that - so far - I can't fault this vehicle!!Purchased in January 2021.

GREAT VALUE SUV
We bought this car from a Ringwood dealer August 2018. The vehicle was 1 year old and was bought as a demo.
It's the mid spec Comfortline 132 TSI 2 litre turbo.
So far we are very impressed with the economy to performance ratio with the 2 ltr turbo. It pulls away from a standing start smartly with little sign of turbo lag. For overtaking it's a breeze. Safety features are the main highlight of this vehicle and there are tons of good features. The best thing was that the insurance with RACV was so cheap because of the safety rating. We're rapt...Read more
