Fantastic mats
We have had this for a few years now and it has been a fantastic mat. Top is flocked so comfortable to sleep on directly if necessary.
We never hit the ground when we sleep on them so the other reviewer must have had a leak or not done the bungs up. We arent small people either.
The outer is attached to the inner to stop it moving so again, the other poster must have a faulty one. Better than others we looked at in terms of quality of materials and design. We camp weekly so it has had a lot of use in all sorts of conditions.
Great thickness (better than most). Inflate quickly and pretty easy to roll up. Waterprood too and easy to clean.
Can't fault it.

Barely ok, really needs some improvement
With self inflating mats, you have bonded, and non bonded. Bonded means the outside plastic is adhered to the foam, so the foam cant move inside and the thickness stays similar when you're on it. Non bonded means there's a cut of foam, inside an air mattress.
This is a non bonded, so when you get on it, your body sinks down to the ground, and the surrounding mattress balloons up. The whole idea of having air in there is useless, when you're on it, it just moves around. You may as well just buy a cut of 12mm foam.

t having the plastic on the foam, is you can push the air out as you roll it up, close the valves and tie it up, and it stays nice and taught. where as a roll of foam would be trying to expand and would be a pain to roll. It's pretty sweaty sleeping on these things, as you're just sleeping on a layer of plastic on foam. sleeping on foam normally is better as you're body can breath a little. Adding a mattress topper to this 4x4 matt makes it a lot better, or ideal a woollen underlay, as wool wicks moisture away better. Unfortunately at our big camping stores in aus we don't have a whole lot of options, and BCF doesn't like to use other brands than wanderer, so you don't have much choice!Similar opinion?
