My wife loves it
This is just so much better than flossing with stranded floss which often leaves my gums bleeding. With the Waterpik flossing is dead simple to use and my teeth are much cleaner too.

Grat water flosser
Waterpik is easy to use and we love using to floss with warm water. We can also choose how strong you want the water to be when flossing. Less painful as compared to using the sharp toothpick and cleaner too. It is relatively small so easy to store. Very convenient and i personally think it is a good buy :)

depending on your teeth; mandatory for good oral health
You'll know if you need this unit if you use it and it yields a lot of food from between the teeth. Some people's teeth naturally grab a lot more food and hold onto it than others. For me, this will get things that thorough flossing will not remove.
It's critical to get the bits of food left over--particularly before bed. Only then can biological balance occur, which is a state where the flow of saliva in the mouth is repairing the teeth through the night. If your mouth is full of food particles from the day's feeding when you retire, then ...Read more
the saliva has to do a plumbing job instead of a restorative one. All dentists know this--it is dental 101--but it rarely gets mentioned amongst all of the hype over this or that brush and its features, and the need for professionals to keep filling teeth. Waterpik is the most powerful of the oral water blasters that I have found. Stick clear of the Oral B station, which is absolutely lame and has nowhere near the power of this unit. When you get used to it, you will want power. Also stick clear of toothbrushes that have ultrasound as they can be detrimental to cellular health. For that matter so can the ridiculous brushes that expose you to microwave radiation when talking between base and brush. Kitsch, stupid, unnecessary and unhealthy. The power makes this the best unit. However, there are downsides. Firstly, the hose always seems to be a little short lived--the first part of the unit to go. If it lasts you a couple of years you are doing well. Further, this later model unit is worse than the older water piks in terms of the operation of the sealing rubber at the base of the water reservoir, which tends to leak pretty early on. Leaking will get messy and release too much water oveer the top of the unit. You can circumvent this before filling by pushing down on the rubber from above and pushing it flush against the blue plastic of the reservoir, but this is a pain. Design flaw.1 comment

Love it! never know that I will fall for this
I got one of this because my dentist insist that I need one. To my surprise, I like it and when I am away I missed it! I am even thinking to get the portable one. Comparing the WP to floss, it is easier to use and no more bleed. However sometimes I still have to floss or pickster. The maintenance is very easy and straight forward, you dont really need to do anything special. Keep your teeth & gums clean & healthy. Smile :)

its value for money and relatively comprehensive
I have a sweet tooth and use this quite alot to get sticky grime off my teeth.
It is easy to use and can give a good clean.
Last dentist visit has little or no yellow stuff on my front teeth, but the back teeth, another story.
It has a nice brush for the back teeth also that helps to get rid of stuck food at the back. I say it is very much comparable to a floss

Super powerful water blaster teeth cleaner.
My dentist stated gingivitis which I have could be better managed with this machine. I purchased it, OMG, I've thrown away the floss etc and the time I used to floss etc, compared to using the Waterpik is more than halved. But it cleans with more efficiency and no pain. Loving this. No more bleeding gums. Recommended.

Didn't work for me
The WP might work OK if you use it after every meal.
But at my age I'm too old to change my habit - which is to brush after breakfast, then before bed I use a dental floss stick, a pikester, and brush again with toothpaste.
In short, I used the WP once per day in lieu of the pikester before bed - and it was pointless.
Within a month of my most recent dentist clean/check, I have found the plaque building up into nodules already.
My old regime worked far better, was cheaper, quicker and simpler.
Water pressure doesn't seem to be a problem - ...Read more

Definitely A Regret
I absolutely loved my Waterpik until 4 weeks after purchase it died on me. This is the third time it has happened and each time, due to fading of receipt or lost receipt, customer service has refused to do anything for me and the lady on the phone was beyond rude and full of attitude. I definitely will be trying another brand.

Leaking issue
Water pressure is ok and do the work. Problem comes from the rubber in side of the water tank that keep leaking. To stop that, each time u would have to empty the water tank and use ur finger to press tightly.

Great flosser
I have had small gaps in between my molar teeth on both sides and my dentist has had to put fillers on some of them due to irregular flossing. Since purchasing the water flosser, it makes flossing a lot easier and a simpler task. Love the fact that it is rechargable.

Perfect clean teeth
After purchasing the water pik, I saved myself so much time and money. In just 90 seconds or less. I world have flossed my teeth compared with using the sting floss, which takes 5 times longer.

Better than flossing
Easier and better than flossing, gets every bit of food from between teeth. condition and appearance of my teeth have improved as the waterpik also helps remove plaque at the gum. Variable pressure so it is good for sensitive mouths. You do need to hang your head over the sink, it is amazing to see how much the waterpik removes compared to flossing. Leaves your mouth feeling fresh without needing mouthwash. I highly recommend the waterpik.

Shocking service
The product I purchased sprung a major leak after only a couple of uses along a plastic join. As it offers a 1 year guarantee, I emailed Water Pik Inc to see about getting a replacement water reservoir and have had no reply from there international online sales team. Given that this was an expensive product and still within its gaurantee time I am extremely disturbed by the lack of service and would never recommend that anyone buys one. In fact I would advise people not to buy one.

Love my Waterpik and the way my teeth and gums now feel
Since using the waterpik, my gums have become much healthier, stronger and no longer bleed. My teeth feel cleaner and my dentist is impressed with the overall improvement. I have been using the waterpik for 4 month, have bought one for my partner and who is equally pleased.

So glad I purchased!
I recently got braces and had read about using a waterpik to help keep them clean - anyone with braces would know that you have to clean your teeth so much! The waterpik is a saviour and cleans my teeth and braces so well, and flossing is now a breeze!
Obsessed with using it to have that clean teeth feeling.
Definitely worth buying

Vital device against gum disease!
I love this water flosser. It gets the job done. However, the water stop button got stuck after 6 months. Wrote an email to them on their website 2 months but they never got back to me. Don't know what went wrong there. If they get this issue fixed I'd give this 4.5 to 5 stars. So in summary, good product, poor customer service.
Update: 17/2/2018 - So about 4 months later I decided to send them a message on their official Facebook page about the email I sent. They responded very quickly, and I received the replacement unit 4-5 days later which is quick! Raised my rating to 5 stars as I said I would.
I also found out that adding mouthwash to the water works very well.

Best investment for oral health
Considering I have many close friends who are in the dental industry I'm actually not that great with flossing (oops) so decided to do some research in to water flossing and figured if I spent a decent amount of money on a device I would be more inclined to floss regularly.
Definitely pleased with the purchase. I had done some research and therefore knew there would be product/design flaws but overall a great investment for oral health.

ill be sprayed with water, which I learned the hard way! I agree the machine is not aesthetically pleasing but I figure if I put it away I will be less likely to use it regularly. My vanity is pretty small so it is a bit bulky to have out all the time. I also agree with the attachment cord being too short so you really need to have the unit close to the basin. I also only have a power outlet on the left of my vanity (meaning the unit sits to my left) and I am right handed so the cord runs across my neck/face as I'm using it which not great but for 90 seconds I guess I don't really mind. It can be a messy affair, but I think the benefit of this device outweighs the few product flaws so I'm really not that deterred. Hopefully my dentist will see a difference at my next check up! Nabbed a bargain as CWH was selling them for $112.99 and then used an entertainment voucher ($10 off after $50) so bought for $102.99.Similar opinion? Write a review on ieatwords.com.au!

There is a toothbrush tip
Included and box states that it has ‘convenience of brushing and flossing at the same time.’ Does that mean it will replace my toothbrush as well as flossing?
2 answers
I tried it but personally prefer regular toothbrush and then water flossing. The problem with this attachment is that bristles are in a way of water pressure and then all you really doing is brushing with water.
It definitely WILL NOT replace your toothbrush. You would also be best sticking to your usual flossing routine as the waterpik does nothing.

There is water leaking out of my waterpik water flosser where you insert the brush into the handle. I have pushed it firmly in and water still runs out all over my clothes it want tighten up at all. Thank you!

I haven't had this problem. Are you holding the handle facing down towards your teeth or up? If you hold it upwards, then the water will leak out. Also the end of the tube should be in your mouth before you switch it on and whenever the machine is on. Maybe it's technique or maybe you have just been unlucky and got a faulty one. There are one or two videos on YouTube which may help. Sorry I can't be more help.
Marie, I never had that problem, but you might need a new handle with attached cable. You can buy them -I think at Harvey- and to fix it is simple, just 2 little screws underneath and replace the part. Normally if you don't insert the mouth piece fully it leaks, but you seem to do it correctly. Good luck and I hope this helps you

OK I take it back on the hose, the latest one has lasted for three years now. If you put tea tree in the reservoir make sure it's really dilute, that's probably what was causing the hose degradation!
