Hi Rick, sorry we can only comment on connections that are suitable for Australian and New Zealand barbecues. We are not aware of the gas requirements for Portuguese barbecues.

SL Video S.asked
hi Weber, I bought a baby Q in 2013/14 and have lost the owners instruction book, is the bbq and roasting settings the same as today's instruction books? my baby Q control nob has no roasting symbol other then on the lowest temperature? any help would be much appreciated.

Weber Barbecues A.Weber
Hi there SL, thanks for your question. It's a bit hard over here to show you the settings, as images would be more ideal. The older model Q's were used in these instructional videos, which show you the roasting setting. I think they'll be able to tell you what you need to know :)

Can i use 2 hot plates on my 1200 q
1 answer
Weber Barbecues A.Weber
Hi James, we don't recommend the use of two hotplates on any Weber Q model, as it requires adequate ventilation for the heat to circulate around the barbecue. That's why we've created the half-hotplate, not a full one. Let us know if you have any further questions.

Jason S.asked
Hello, i recently bought an older Q100 Baby q. And without checking the original grill plate i bought a half hot plate not realising that the grill plate is a "whole" plate not two halves. Question is can i use the hot plate by placing it on top of the grill plate or do i need to buy new half/half grill to make a grill/hot plate combo. Apologues for the confusing wording
1 answer
Weber Barbecues A.Weber
Hi Jason, although they weren't specifically designed to be used that way, you can use the half hotplate on top of the one-piece grill if you don't want to replace the current grill with the two-piece grill that is available on modern Q models. You just need to factor in a bit more pre-heating time, and watch the barbecue as it will take a bit longer for the hotplate to heat up being further away from the heat source.
Susanasked
Hi Weber,
Our bbq plate ( Weber baby q complete grill plate) has broken. It has not been dropped. The only new thing we have done is to put a pizza stone in there. Could this have made it too hot to snap it?
Thanks.

Weber Barbecues A.Weber
Hi Susan, thanks for your question. Did you place the pizza stone on a trivet and convection tray when you placed it in the barbecue, or just straight on the grills?
We started placing it on the trivet but then lately we removed the trivet and had it straight on the grill. No convection tray just a pizza tray on the stone.
Weber Barbecues A.Weber
Hi Susan, we always recommend that you use a convection tray and trivet when using the Pizza Stone on the Q's as this turns your barbecue into an oven (using convection heating) to cook the food.
How old is your grill? Did it come with the barbecue or did you purchase it separately?

I cannot turn my Baby q down. It is on the lowest setting and the temp is 250. Any help very much appreciated

Weber Barbecues A.Weber
Hi Jen, thanks for your question. Can I ask what you're trying to cook at temperatures lower than that?
Our Q range of barbecues do give out a lot of heat, but in saying that, the way that they cook is the same as an oven. It's just hotter and therefore can reduce cooking times (depending on the food).
Ok I would like to cook roast meat at 150 after initially starting at 300 .
Quite difficult, but not impossible, with a Baby Q as the temperature at the lowest setting is still pretty high. I have all three Weber Q sizes. It's much easier to do "low and slow" with the bigger Qs, especially the Q300/3000 series. Here are some tips: 1) preheat at the lowest setting 2) use a heat sink--a small metal pan/container with water and placed on one side of the grates. With the heat sink, you might have to replace the water several times during a long roast to keep temp low.

Hi Will the portable cart fir a Weber Q100. If not how bad if the fir can it be altered the cart?
1 answer
Weber Barbecues A.Weber
Hi Wendy, thanks for your question. Unfortunately, the Q100's will not fit on the Portable Cart, as they have different sized bases and the feet are in different positions. If you're looking for a cart option, we suggest a small, non-combustible metal table that can support the Q and be transported easily.
Russell Oasked
Hi, does the Weber Baby Q cart support a 9kg gas bottle?
3 answers
Hi Russell the carts are sold separately, there are 2 carts that are compatable with the baby q, one of them doesn't appear to have any gas bottle facilities but the patio cart has a spot for 9kg gas bottles. Hope I was able to help, regards Tracy.
Weber Barbecues A.Weber
Hi Russell, yes, there is a space at the bottom of the Portable Cart that is capable of holding a 9kg gas bottle.
Thanks guys, I’ve ordered one
Myriamasked
Hi - Just bought a Weber Q1200. Specifications say 4.5 kg - 9 kg for LPG cylinder. Local shops had 4 kg or 9 kg. Will 4 kg cylinder be ok to use? Thanks.
1 answer
Weber Barbecues A.Weber
HI Myriam, yes a 4kg is fine to use. We just have standard bottle specifications to correlate with hours of cooking time- 4.5kg = X many hours of cooking time, depending on the size of the barbecue.

I had a Baby Q fire when cooking a roast for an hour. I had to buy a new one. It has never happened before. The only difference is that I have an 8.5 gas bottle. I don’t suppose that a large gas bottle could increase the heat?
I know all about cleaning the tray etc so don’t need advice there thanks.

Weber Barbecues A.Weber
Hi Fran, we're sorry to hear that you have had an incident with your Q- did you call us when this happened? We can organise replacement parts & warranty claims so you should have had to purchase a new barbecue.
The size of the gas bottle doesn't impact heat levels- if cleaned correctly and drip & convection trays are changed regularly (or with each use when talking about convection trays) then there should be no reason for there to be a fire.
If you could tell me what you were cooking and what settings you had it on, we can help avoid this with your current barbecue. Thanks

Hi there, we have this longer hose available online and in Weber retailers: https://www.weber.com/AU/en/accessories/cooking/barbecue-accessories/3m-lp-bayonet-hose-q-spirit-genesis-summit/HR10010.html#q=hose&lang=en_AU&start=1

Will only fire up on one side and 2 ends.
1 answer
Weber Barbecues A.Weber
Hi Errol, thanks for your question. Have you checked that your cookbox is clean, and that the holes are clear along the burner tube? You can rub a wire brush over this, and it should clear up, but if you're still having trouble then you may need to remove it from the barbecue and soak it in hot water to remove any build-up inside.
