Has some good features - but nothing really exceptional
We've had a Q3200 for about 18 months - it was our first gas Weber though we've had Weber kettles before. We've used it regularly as a normal bbq and for roasts, vegetables and pizzas since buying.
First off - people who say food tastes better etc when done in a Weber don't in my opinion know what they're talking about. Care in preparation and how you cook the food are what give you a good outcome - not the bbq brand so long as you get something reasonable.
Things to note about Q series are:
1. There are two types - the premium (like the Q...Read more
3200, Q2200 etc) which have a slightly higher hood, temperature guage and electronic starter, which are only sold in some outlets, and then the standard version (Q3100, Q2100 etc). RRP for the 2 versions is not much different, but standard version you can often pick up with a 15% or 20% discount. When I was buying mine, I went to 3 outlets and all 3 sales staff looked me in the eye and solemnly told me that I would never see a premium Q3200 discounted in Australia. (Time for the ACCC to look at this?). 2. Good points are that it's easy to start and quick to get going because of smaller volume under the hood. It's easy to clean because the shape, and uses less than half the gas that other 3 or 4 burner hooded barbeques will use. Heat distribution appears reasonably even. Also looks well made with no obviously cheap components apart from all the plastic in the stand and elsewhere - so I'm expecting it to last a bit longer than a $400 hooded bbq available elsewhere. It's also compact - if you don't have much room on the deck or balcony then the Weber may be ideal. Warranty period and support are both good.Purchased in October 2021 for $740.00.

So convenient
My Weber Q is one of the best purchases I have ever made. It cooks all foods really well, and the pizza stone is a must-it cooks pizza to perfection and this is what we cook the most on the Weber. WE have cooked roasts on it as well and for this the best accessory is a meat thermometer. For other food like sausages/meat we use a BBQ mat for ease of cleaning but on the odd occasion we did not have the mat then yes, there was more a mess to clean, but one of the great things about having a Weber is the grills- they are not so massive you can't l...Read more
ift them-so we simply remove and soak them in a bucket with detergent overnight and they come clean. the rest of the Q is fairly easy to clean with BBQ spray or wipes and Weber tells you how often to clean the BBQ as well. It copes fairly well in the wind as the lid is quite effective. We have it under cover so rain isn't a problem for us, but just close the lid and it shouldn't be a problem.Purchased in January 2021 at Weber for $700.00.

Stop looking....this is it.
These are quite expensive but they are a quality built product. I have had mine for years, in fact I also have baby Q for camping and small cook-ups.
Great cooking flavours on the cast iron grills and they have cleverly designed it so that the fat does not drip on the flames so as they say, no flare ups...and that is true. Great for cooking roasts (fast or slow) with the lid down.
Very convenient cooking, great quality build and tasty food.

We LOVE our Webber Family Q
we use this awesome BBQ nearly every night to cook dinner. In summer it's a God send as we cook outside. My husband, who thinks he can cook, does really well cooking anything, spuds, roasts, fish anything. Best money we have ever invested. There is only 2 of us so the Baby Q may have been big enough but when the tribe get together there is 13 of us, so the bigger the better.
Purchased in October 2021 for $750.00.

Best barbecue ever
We got the small one when we lived in an apartment and now we have the big one. Perfect for doing the ham at Christmas. We would use it 2-3 times a week summer and winter. Favourite foods are salmon and prawns on the small barbecue. Steak and lamb on the big one. Would highly recommend the Weber Q series. We have also got the smoker which is also awesome.

Best BBQ Ever
I bought my husband a Weber Q Family for Christmas last year, I thought it would be another fad and another BBQ to add to his growing collection. I was so wrong. This is the best thing we have ever bought. We use it at least three times a week and it save me from cooking as he loves to use it. Highly recommend it

After sales service that proofs what they sell!
BBQ time is the one of the few times my whole household spends quality time together and I simply love it so on average we have a BBQ about 3 times on a weekend and at least once during the week. At this rate the normal plate units you buy from the chain stores doesn't see two years with us.
Two years ago we bought a new house and I decided to spoil myself with a decent BBQ. Knowing only the old faithful Weber kettle BBQ's I decided to look the other way and fork out the money for Family Q (3200). From the first time I turned it on I was sati...Read more
sfied and I knew it was money well spent on a high quality product, the feel of the unit, the way everything just works, the way the lid closes, the way it cooks the meat, how easy it cleans and how well it looks even after using it as often as my car, the list just goes on. I have purchased very few things in life that I felt so good about as this BBQ. But everything has it's limits and after about 14 months of solid use I noticed the paint on the bottom half of the heating bowl started making small bubbles. It didn't bother me much but I paid a lot for and I try my best to look after it so I thought I'd contact the dealer where I bought it from to find out if I can get it sent back for a repaint only to find that they have closed down. I then contacted Weber Customer Care directly and Sue Collins promptly replied to my query and organised to get a technician out to my house who replaced the bowl at no cost to me at all. It is now 10 months later and this weekend I noticed that the coating on the grill plates are coming off at areas and I contacted Weber Customer Care again to check if the unit is still under Warranty. This time Carly O'Leary replied to my query almost immediately. She stated that the grill plates had a five year Warranty on them and immediately got a new set shipped to my home address without any delay. This was two claims made by one person/product in about a year both treated extremely fast and professional by two different people working for the same company. This does not only speak volumes about the company's values, the quality of its products and service to its clients but it also says a lot about the people it employs and their values. Full score Team WEBER! I have experienced after sales services from you that I might never experience again in my lifetime. Don't lose this, it make you unique!Purchased in October 2021 for $769.00.

Can’t do without it!
We’ve cooked Pizzas, eggs, bacon, salmon, fish, steaks, sausages, roasts, potato bakes, vegetables and more on this Weber and absolutely love it!
We use the recommended products to clean the bbq and they do a great job... do it regularly and you won’t be sorry.
If it’s windy or cold, allow some extra time for cooking or cook on slightly higher heat with great results.
We also own a Weber baby q which we now keep for trips in the van

Love using this bbq. Easy to use and maintain. Cooks exactly how you want it. Has many accessories and products to add on. Warrenty should be longer though. And they should add on gas meter to show how much is remaining.

Steaks, sausages and fish cook so well on our new family Q bbq!!! My husband is loving every time he cooks for our family. My little son also gets excited and helps out my husband. Family Q is a really nice easy to use family bbq that lasts for long time. We won’t look at any other brand since Weber joined our family.

Great product and excellent after sales service!
Great BBQ and perfect for us. We originally bought when we were living in an apartment due to its compact design not taking up much space but have since moved to a family home and haven't even thought to go bigger since it looks good, and can comfortably cook for 6-8 people.
Not the cheapest BBQ on the market, but the quality shows, and doesn't seem to be anywhere near as much gas as the traditional BBQs we've previously had that were purchase from the big name hardware store...
We've had ours since around 2013, the ignition switch has just failed - but Weber are now sending us a new one free of charge and provided an instructional video showing how to fit.
Excellent service, and very happy with the product.

Sorry I'm unsure....just give an approved Weber retailer a call and ask
Weber state on there website they dont sell conversation kits for the saftey of there customers. It will also void any warranty on it.
Weber Barbecues A.Weber
Hi Colin, thanks for your question. We can organise conversions for your barbecue. This is organised through our head office as (depending on the conversion) there needs to be a technician involved as well as the parts. Can you please contact our head office on 1300 301 290 to organise this.
Josh, thanks for jumping in on this conversation. That's not true; we do sell parts to customers. As mentioned above, depending on the type of conversion will depend on whether a technician or gas fitter is required, so there is a process to go through before we can send out parts.
The statement you're referring to applies to US barbecues- in Australia and NZ, it's a different process and we do allow conversions. Hope that helps clear that up!
Naomi N.asked
Hi there, we have a Weber Q3200 we are wanting to put a new lid on it. Does the latest lid (with only Q label) on the top fit ok? Also can we just swap the thermometer straight over?? Cheers :)
1 answer
Weber Barbecues A.Weber
Hi Naomi, thanks for your question. If you have a Q320 (older model), then the new Q3200 lids will fit as the cookboxes are the same size.
The thermometers are different shapes, so you'll need a new one to fit the new lid. If you want to purchase one, please contact us on 1300 301 290 and we can organise the order over the phone through our head office.
Louasked
I am keen for a built in Weber.
Is the Q3600 the only option?
Also why is the Q3600 significantly more expensive than the Family Q models.
Does this relate to durability, size, materials....?
Lou

Weber Barbecues A.Weber
Hi Lou, thanks for your query. In terms of built-in barbecues, we also have a Summit range here: https://www.weber.com/AU/en/barbecues/premium-gas-range/summit-series/summit-e460-ng-built-in/7261024.html?cgid=221#start=1
The difference in price relates to the stainless steel housing, as well as the re-designed burner system, to fit the built-in specifications. If you need any more information on these barbecues, please let us know.
