Hi, my Q 220 has a serial number of AU0217434. How do I find out the year of manufacture?

Hi Purcy, an AU code Q was manufactured in 2012. Let us know if you've got any more questions.

Hi thanks for that. I thought that code only related to kettles, though. Or is that just a coincidence?

Weber
Weber Barbecues A.Weber

Hi Purcy, we have a few different codes to determine years depending on the barbecue, but in this case, it's the same as a Kettle AU, 2012.

Q 200

I bought a half grill (part 7654) and half plate (part 6559) for my Weber q 200. Using these in combination they both rock on their mounts and are unstable. They don't touch in the middle. Is there a way to fix this?

Hi Mark- you should have received a small set of grill clips that will help support the hotplate and grill in your older model Q- if you didn't receive these, send us an email at [email protected] with your address and we'll send you out a set

Each Webber q has a serial number. You can then ring their service department quote the serial number and they will tell you how old your unit is. For my knowledge they have been making them for 4-5 years now but I'm no expert could be longer so best give them a call

Weber
Weber Barbecues A.Weber

Hi Christine, the Q range was brought to Australian in 2003, so it could be as old as that. Your serial number will tell us the exact age of the Q you have- just send us the two letters at the beginning of the serial. Cheers!

Hi Megan, as that is an older model, you are limited. If you head to your nearest Specialist Dealer (or alternatively, call our head office on 1300 301 290) and enquire about a Stationary Cart (part 8460) - this part is our older cart and if there is stock left, it will fit your Q.

Hope that helps. Thanks

I can't imagine so: call their Service Department on 1300301 290 and they'll answer you direct. Brilliant people to deal with! The slightest fault and they'll be on to it for you.

shouldn’t be, i’m told they’re pure cast iron.

Weber
Weber Barbecues A.Weber

Hi Carsten, it depends on what you mean by coating; sometimes it can just be a carbon build up on the surface that is peeling away, and is not actually the coating. Please send us some pics through our Facebook page https://www.facebook.com/weberBBQAusNz/, or you can call us on 1300 301 290. Thanks!

Hi Wayne,

I saw a youtube video before regarding this one. You might be interested. Not sure how well it works though.

Weber
Weber Barbecues A.Weber

Hi Wayne. The Q200 did not come with a thermometer in the lid; only the 220 and current 2200's do. You don't necessarily need a thermometer in the lid, as all the recipes that we provide are written based on setting, rather than temperature.

You can't really attach one without drilling a hole in the lid, which could break it, void warranty and not make your barbecue work as efficiently.

You could look into other thermometer options, like our iGrill range, Instant Read Thermometer or Snapcheck thermometer. You can find all the accessories here: https://www.weberbbq.com.au/weber-accessories/

Q 200

Hi

I have got Q200 and the black rubber cone at the end of the regulator / hose has gone missing. How do i get the replacement cone?

Thanks

1 answer
Weber
Weber Barbecues A.Weber

Hi Edward, thanks for getting in touch. It sounds like yourr rubber 'o' ring has gone missing, and it's a vital part of your barbecue's gas system.
Without it, you could have a gas leak and create a potentially dangerous situation.
Can you please call us on 1300 301 290 with your barbecue's serial number as we will have to organise a replacement hose/regulator system for you; the little 'o' ring on the end cannot be replaced on it's own, so the entire connection will have to be replaced.

Thanks

Q 200

I can’t keep my Webber q2200 under 200 degrees even on the lowest setting
Anyone got any advice?

1 answer
Weber
Weber Barbecues A.Weber

Hi Matt, thanks for getting in touch. Can I ask what you're trying to cook?

After 10 minutes on low, I would expect the Q to be around 155°C (311°F), but that will increase slightly over the cook.

Q 200

Where to purchase a full ignition set and what type of battery needed? I live in qld Thanks

Weber
Weber Barbecues A.Weber

Hi Eve,

Thanks for your question. We can supply a new igniter kit along with a battery, as they are covered for the life of the barbecue. If you call 1300 301 290, we can organise one for you.

If you just want to change the battery, then you need a AAA.

Thanks

Q 200

hello - I've loved my weber q200 - and after several years of living outside (under cover - with 2 weber bbq covers - the grill needs replaciging, self ignition doesnt work and some of the burners have sealed so cooking is now only possible on one half of the cook top. The kettle drum and lid are in excellent condition.

Can we replace the grill given this model is no longer made?
And are the ignition and burner tube covered by the life time warranty?
Overall this has been an excellent bbq that we would love to use over summer.

1 answer
Weber
Weber Barbecues A.Weber

Hi AMS, thanks for getting in touch.

We can certainly help you with some replacement parts. It sounds like your Q is on the older side, but we'd need your barbecue serial number to confirm the age, along with the replacement parts it needs.

Can you please email us at [email protected] and we'll go from there. Thanks

Q 200

Hi what comes with the Weber q 200 when I buy it?

1 answer
Weber
Weber Barbecues A.Weber

Hi Quentin, thanks for your question.
The Q200's aren't made anymore so you'd be looking at either the Q2000 or 2200. When you buy your barbecue, you get the cookbox & lid, leg frame already assembled and the grills in a separate part of the box.
It's definitely worth checking with your local Weber Specialist Dealer, as they usually have a combo deal with covers and other accessories! https://www.weberbbq.com.au/where-to-buy/
Thanks!

Q 200

Hi
I have a Weber Q200 which I was hoping to use to roast a Turkey for Christmas. What is the maximum size Turkey recommended. Also I have the roasting Trivet which the box displays a roast with aluminium foil underneath is this safe to use or do I need the convection tray?

Thanks for any pointers you can give me as we have rarely used the BBQ except for the occasional sausage and steak.
Kind regards
Linda

Hi Linda, I’m sorry I can’t help as all we do on ours is sausages and steak

Weber
Weber Barbecues A.Weber

Hi Linda, thanks for getting in touch.

The maximum turkey that will fit on a Q200/2000 is 3kgs.

It sounds like you may have an older package of the trivet, as we used to suggest using foil, but have since stopped recommending that and suggest you use the convection trays as they are designed for the layout of the Q's, and foil can promote gas pooling and reduce airflow.

If you have any more questions, please let us know.

Q 200

Is it essential to tether the Webber?

1 answer
Weber
Weber Barbecues A.Weber

Hi Stephen, thanks for getting in touch.
We're not quite sure what you mean?

Are you asking whether you have to secure the barbecue to a post/structure? If so, then no it is not vital to do so. The Weber Q's come on a base with legs, so placing it on any non-combustible, stable surface is fine. We also have carts available for purchase that can bring the barbecue up to a comfortable cooking height and make it more portable.

If you need any more information, please let us know!
