Q Premium (Q2200AU)

I have bought a q2200, and have gone to buy a swap n go gas bottle at Bunnings I only wanted the smaller one as it more portable for camping.
However it is only 3.7 kg, is this bottle suitable for use with the q2200.
Cheers for replies.

Weber
Weber Barbecues A.Weber

Hi Graeme, we typically recommend any size from 4.5kg-9kg bottles, as this is what has been tested on our barbecues- we use these sizes to determine the number of typical cooking hours that a gas bottle would use and therefore how long it should last.

That being said, if it fits on the regulator, then it is fine to use- you just may not get as many cooks on a smaller bottle.

How to remove electronic ignition button

1 answer
Weber
Weber Barbecues A.Weber

Hi Maisy, you can remove the button by twisting the button 1/4 turn to the left and pull it out. That will reveal the battery and allow you to change it. To install it again, just insert and turn 1/4 to the right (essentially reversing what you just did) and you will find it working again.

Can you get replacement lids for the large casserole dish? Also, are splatter guards available for the rectangular weber frypans? Thankyou

Weber
Weber Barbecues A.Weber

Hi Debbie, was there a fault with yours, or did you break it? You can contact our head office on 1300 301 290 if there was a fault (will need images), but if it was just broken we don't have spares.

No, we don't offer splatter guards for the frying pans.

What side does the griddle go on and why

1 answer

Hi Treece, thanks for your question. We recommend using it on the right-hand side, opposite to the ignition point so there is adequate airflow to allow the barbecue to ignite. That being said, it can be used on either side.

Hi Katya, the Patio cart is only compatible with 2000/2200 (Weber Q) models. The Baby Q (1000/1200) models are compatible with the Portable cart, which you can find here: https://www.weber.com/AU/en/accessories/cookbooks-and-more/carts/weber-q-portable-cart-q1000-q2000-series/6579.html#q=%2Bcart&lang=en_AU&start=1

Can the baby q grill plate be separated to put a half flat plate on

1 answer
Weber
Weber Barbecues A.Weber

Hi Chev, if you've got a full grill then you will need to look at options like these:
- Q breakfast plate: https://www.weber.com/AU/en/accessories/cooking/griddles/weber-q-breakfast-plate/93395.html#q=griddle&lang=en_AU&start=1
- Q Frying Pan: https://www.weber.com/AU/en/accessories/preparation-and-serving/specialty-accessories/q-ware-frying-pan-large/991155.html#q=frying%2Bpan&lang=en_AU&start=1

These are designed to sit on top of the grill, rather than having to remove half of it.

Alternatively, you can purchase split grills from Weber Stores and Weber Specialist Dealers :)

Q 200

I bought a half grill (part 7654) and half plate (part 6559) for my Weber q 200. Using these in combination they both rock on their mounts and are unstable. They don't touch in the middle. Is there a way to fix this?

Hi Mark- you should have received a small set of grill clips that will help support the hotplate and grill in your older model Q- if you didn't receive these, send us an email at [email protected] with your address and we'll send you out a set

Damoasked

I have a Weber q and I am looking at getting a half hot plate. The grill I have is one full grill. How do I place the half plate when the grill I done whole piece?

3 answers
Weber
Weber Barbecues A.Weber

Hi Damo, the half-hotplates are made to be used with our split grills; if you've got a full grill, you have the option of removing the entire grill and just using the half hotplate (this won't give you much flexibility in terms of space) OR you can purchase a set of split grills and then you can use both the grill and hotplate at the same time.

Alternatively, you could look at a large frying pan (https://www.weber.com/AU/en/accessories/preparation-and-serving/specialty-accessories/q-ware-frying-pan-large/991155.html#q=frying%2Bpan&lang=en_AU&start=1) OR a plate like this Breakfast Plate that sits on top of your grills https://www.weber.com/AU/en/accessories/cooking/griddles/weber-q-breakfast-plate/93395.html

Let us know if you need any more info!

Damo

Thanks for that. Do you have a link for the spilt grill? Can I buy just half as I will also get the half plate?

Weber
Weber Barbecues A.Weber

Hi Damo, this is the link for the split grill https://www.weber.com/AU/en/accessories/care/gas-barbecue-replacement-parts/weber-q-grill-retail-pack-with-clips/7645.html#q=grill&lang=en_AU&start=1

We don't recommend cutting the grill in half with a grinder either.

We have a Weber Q 100. Can you please let us know the inside dimensions, as we are thinking of cooking a ham in it and need to know what size ham will fit

1 answer
Weber
Weber Barbecues A.Weber

Hi Trish, I can get you some measurements, but you won't fit a leg of ham inside the Q100. You would be looking at a piece of leg- you can ask your butcher to cut a leg in half and that should fit.

If you're not set on ham, you could also do something like this recipe here, as that would fit inside the Q100: https://www.weber.com/AU/en/recipes/poultry/turkey-roulade/weber-202261.html

Jenny Fad

Jenny Fadasked

Can we use a full size griddle plate on my weber q?

2 answers
Weber
Weber Barbecues A.Weber

Hi Jenny. Yes, technically you can use one. However, the philosophy of Weber barbecues is to cook with the lid down, preferably on the grills. When you cook on a full hotplate, you're getting the performance of any flat-top barbecue and not the quality performance that Weber's are known for. We recommend using a half-hotplate, and half grill because if we believed it would perform adequately, we would manufacture our own full hotplate.

rogersken
rogersken

Hi Jenny. When you cook with the lid down you are roasting your meat. Is it a BBQ or is it an oven. You can still close the lid when cooking with a full size plate is you wish. How do you see what is barbequing when the lid is down?

Q 220

1 answer
Weber
Weber Barbecues A.Weber

Hi Leah, we have half-hotplate options available online here: https://www.weber.com/AU/en/accessories/cooking/griddles/

We don't recommend a full hotplate for the grill as we believe you get better results with half grill, half hotplate. Hope that helps!

How to judge the temp on a Webber Q if no Gauge fitted?
Outer ring at Half what temp would that be?

1 answer
Weber
Weber Barbecues A.Weber

Hi Mossimo, extremely hard to say what the exact temperature would be on your Q due to many variables like position, weather, age of the Q, gas levels, etc.

We write all of our recipes in settings, rather than the temperature, for this reason as Standard Q owners would have difficulty determining the temp.

If you would really like to know, there are many external thermometers available to help you ensure your food is cooked. We have three; the iGrill range, Snapcheck Thermometer and Instant Read thermometer, which are all available on our website https://www.weber.com/AU/en/home/
