Westfield Gift Cards Rip off
I agreed with others. Westfield (SCenter Group) is ripping off the consumers.
They do not accept the expired gift card which was a gift from friends.
Very dissatisfied with their behavior, said T&L expiry crap. The little plastic is useless when past the expiry date and they keep the free cash money. ASIC should investigate them and fines them for such unethical behavior.

EXPIRY OF VOUCHERS
Good evening
I too am following the hundreds of review that have been placed on here for dissatisfied customers with expires gift vouchers.
The law from July 2018 states ALL gift vouchers last for 3 Years!
Sadly i had a gift voucher from 2016...
I spoke to the Concierge Customer Service anf they actually told me that they Used to be able to extend vouchers from their end and their Platform until this authority was turned off.
So, what this means id they are choosing not to help customers out and are choosing to keep the money for themselves and the business.

We all understand how business work, however there is also empathy to Human nature to many things that may have cropped up in a person's life. Sadly, i lost our card when we moved house, and got married. Then, my dad had an Aneurysm last year and everything was put on hold for his surgery and recovery. So you can see why i was distressed when at last i found buried in a box (from moving) a voucher for $200 that i hadn't used and thought i had misplaced Customer services gave me hope when i spoke to them and were amazing. Then i emailed The giftscentre and their response was not empathetic at all. I work within the retail industry and work within higher management. I am appalled that they are saying nothing can be done (why) because something can always be done if they want to put their customer first! We continuously extend vouchers that have expired because we put the CUSTOMER first!

Gift card rip off.
We bought a gift card for Westfield. At Coles they charged a 12% fee for the card. Unfortunately the fee is written in small letters. Corporate Greed and deception to bleed the battlers. Fees apply for this card directly from Westfield.

expiry date on a card?
Why does a Westfield card have a expiry, I know we should use these things in time when they do have expiry date!
But I would still like to know were my daughters $85.05 went.
Fueling a yacht somewhere maybe..

All talk and zero action
My car was unfortunately broken into during a spate of car break-ins at Westfield West Lakes Shopping Centre. The vandal(s) gained entry into my car by smashing a side window. The paint and body work on my car was also damaged during the break-in.
I have spoken to numerous Westfield staff about the safety for mall workers and their cars but its of least concern to them. Collecting money from the paid parking is top priority.
Mall workers are also forced to walk through a dimly lit car park as Westfield choose to only turn on selected lights. ...Read more
These lights are then turned off at night forcing mall workers to walk through a dark car park. Westfield have been asked countless times to keep the car park lights on for the mall workers safety but it just falls on deaf ears and yet Westfield claims that safety is a priority. What a lie!Similar opinion? Write a review on ieatwords.com.au!

I try to avoid..."The Mall"
Never heard one good thing about this organization. Shops have to charge plenty to the consumers because of the massive rents and I've heard no end of complaints about it. Give the mall a miss and go to your local markets. Less than two stars. Not real good.

Don’t buy a gift card from Westfield
My parents gave me a $100 Westfield gift card for my birthday last year. I didn’t use it within 12 months and when I asked Westfield if it could be used 16 months later they refused and kept the money. I appealed to their ethics and morals and fairness, but this large organisation told me they would not honour the gift card. Their attitude demonstrates what a hard-nosed and ruthless company they are, taking money from individuals, reaping the financial benefits of holding the money and then simply confiscating it. I recommend that everyone shou...Read more
ld avoid business dealings with Westfield as they’ve clearly shown the contempt in which they hold customers. Other organisations are happy to honour gift cards after the expiry date, but not Westfield - they are the exception. If you want to give someone a gift of money, give them the money in a nice greeting card. Avoid any business dealings with Westfield.Similar opinion? Write a review on ieatwords.com.au!

Don’t Waste Your Money on a Westfield Gift Card
I received a $50 Westfield Gift card for christmas 18mths ago and put it in a safe place for latter use. I tried to purchase an item from Westfield recently and was informed that the card had expired 6 months ago. I went to the Westfield management kiosk for assistance and they said that I’d need to ring the Westfield head office. I called and was told I’d have to lodge an online request for the card to be re validated which I did and subsequently received an email saying “sorry we cant renew your gift card”. If the card had been purchased in M...Read more
arch 2018 it would be required under law to be valid for 3 years. As it was purchased 4 months earlier Westfield just take your money and laugh all the way to their bank. My suggestion: 1. Lodge a formal complaint with your State Office of Consumer Affairs 2. Factually state your experience on every social media forum you can find. 3. Advise all your friends not to risk purchasing a gift card from Westfield 4. Don’t buy from Westfield full stop.Similar opinion? Write a review on ieatwords.com.au!

Terrible Service if card expires
Gift card given for christmas 18mths ago and assumed it was for 2yrs until expiry. Unfortunately it was only for 1yr and when asked about a grace period of an extra month( as I had not found anything I wanted to purchase) - they declined - so $50 into their pockets. As a previous big buyer of Westfield gift cards for friends and employee's - I will now be looking at other alternatives and will never buy another gift card from them. I will be asking that no one purchase me another gift card from Westfield either - there are so many more options out there to choose from now

Westfield Gift Card Rip Off
Like so many others I was given a gift card by a friend. I put it aside and found it later only to take to Westfields who said it had expired. What a lurk....neither the giver or receiver read the fine print on the back of the card. Just one year until the $66 apparently vaporised and went straight into the pockets of the Scentre Group, (Westfield owners). If one of those greedy directors wants to give me a call I will happy to find out how much free money they get from this caper. They could at least tell me they donated my friends cash to a ...Read more
worthwhile charity or cause. Lets face it Gift Cards are the dumbest presents. Just give people the cash, they will spend it somewhere and what ever they buy they probably really wanted it. If you cant think of a present to get them at this shopping centre why would they be able to find something either? (I hate shopping malls). For your interest in NSW from March 2018 all gift cards have a minimum 3 year expiry. The law allows for no maximum expiry if a company wants to really treat their gift cards like cash and their customers likes kings.Similar opinion? Write a review on ieatwords.com.au!

Westfield should donate their cash cow from expired gift cards to charity
Money never expires though Westfield think it's a reasonable policy that gift cards do.
What if Grandma gave you $50 in a card which you filed in your undie drawer for a couple of years. It may not buy as much as 2 years ago but it's still real currency which you can spend anywhere. Imagine if the bank said Oh sorry we printed that 2years ago....you've had plenty of time to spend it!!
Someone has already paid extra for the actually card above the $50. I want to know what Westfield does with my two $50 gift cards?? If they're not going to do the right thing and honour them it's time for all revenue from unused Gifts cards was given to a Charity. It's free money for them which they haven't earned or entitled to.

Stylist Westfield Marion
Damian one of the three stylists at Marion Westfield is personable, charming and an outstanding stylist. He takes time to know what you are after and then swiftly takes you to the right shops in the Centre. Money well spent. He actually saves you time and money. You end up with clothes that suit your figure and personality and he always chooses interchangeable pieces. My daughter has just returned from her annual session with clothes that she loves and that suit her figure.
Other women look on as you breeze around Westfield wondering how...Read more

Gift card rort.
Will not be purchasing a Westfield gift card ever again. There is a $5.95 purchase fee on top of the value on the card. We bought it at an Aldi store and didn't realise it until we got home. What a rip off for an organisation that is well known.

I should check these reviews before buying a Westfield gift card. A $50 Westfield gift card costs $55.95. Other gift cards don’t have this charge. Will never purchase this card again.

Customer UN-friendly (overcharging)
At Westfield Miranda they allow their customers / shoppers 3 whole hours of free parking. Given that it will take you a minimum of 3-4 min to get yourself into the parking and then get your vehicle parked on a good day (there's usually a lineup driving in, then you need to find a spot and get your car in it) so 3-4 min is conservative.
But you'll soon find that if you drive in at ... say 2.12pm, then drive out at 5.12pm, Westfield's will charge you $3. Why? Because their hrs of free parking ended at 3.11pm. Sharp. So, no. You don't actually g...Read more
