Traditional looking fridge THAT WORKS ---
We bought a new CHIQ at Hervey Norman in January 20--see another review.
I did not cool down in two days. We are restricted to a 75 cm wide fridge - no many to choose from. When the Westinghouse was plugged in a audible fan could be heard when you opened the freezer door (not outside).-and within hours it was on minus 17 degrees.
The manual is for several models and once you have found out what you have and going from the front of the book to the back again you get an idea how to set the temperature --I started with "quick freeze" -it stays in...Read more
that mode for 2 hours and rapidly brings the temperature down. We have the hottest days ever --and this thing is "cool" - setting is "colder". No temperature indication - we have thermometers top and bottom. It is minus 17 and 4 degrees- as it should. 4 star energy rating. A simple white box made in Thailand with a Westinghouse sticker on it. Owned by Electrolux. Old brand - they must know a thing or two by now being decades in Europe too. Why Westinghouse?? No idea-shall that instill trust? It does the job = for now. Lets see in 5 years - if it last that long. $850 is a lot of money for a simple white box
Purchased in January 2021 for $850.00.

Worked OK until 2 years and 5 months old. Then died.
This fridge worked OK for the time we have had it with the usual caveat about the crisper drawer that drives most people who owns nuts. Then at 2 years 5 months old the compressor has died. After I've dealt with an essentially useless 3rd party extended warranty provider I'm making a complaint to the ACCC/Consumer Affairs on the basis that a fridge should have an expected life of greater than this pathetic period of time.
Purchased in August 2021 at Betta Home Living for $1,049.00.

Its ok
So the first time we got this for nearly a year, then it went broken. Lucky it was just nice under a year. So we managed to get the spare part replaced, although it meant that we needed to arrange other way to keep all the food in other fridge. Very troublesome indeed.
I like the LED light, white bright LEDs
it is an okay fridge, sometimes i can see condensation around the jars, maybe we left it open for too long ( 20 sec) but it doesn't happen to my other fridges.
I really hateee..the doors. these doors won't close unless u push it, the hinge...Read more
stop at some point. I dint get used to it for a long time, since my previous fridge would close even if its 50cm away from the frame. so I needed to be very very careful not to accidentally left it open.Similar opinion? Write a review on ieatwords.com.au!

Look elsewhere
Unfortunately I purchased my Westinghouse WTB4600WAL fridge on 26-10-19 and what I now regard as a pile of cheap junk.
Since delivery the motor has been running much much longer than it is shut down and I am terrified at my next electricity bill.
Obviously it is designed to be mainly viewed from the inside, which looks nice and shiny with LED lighting. The adjustable door bins are great, but apparently there is a fault with the crisper drawer jamming and leaving its tracks, that I haven't encountered yet. The adjustable freezer temp is good...Read more
, more than can be said for the temp adjustment in the lower fridge section. There is NOTHING stylish about its exterior. It is just an ugly rectangular box, unlike my earlier 15 year old model that had rounded corners and far superior paint finish. On the paper-thin sides and top the paint finish is woeful. It is rough and mottled (cost saving?) so I assume they are designed to be recessed (hidden) within cupboards. Once you have wasted your money as I have, good luck reading the Manual. For the tiny print you will need eyes like a hawk or a magnifying glass. Zero out of 10 here for cost cutting.Purchased in October 2021 for $850.00.

Crisper drawer is totally useless !
It has not worked properly from day 1. It got stuck and slid unevenly, especially with any weight in it from fruit and vegetables. I used it few approximately two months and then stored it for over a year. I eventually complained about the drawer when it was still under warranty and the technician replaced the runners. It still didnt work properly. Now the runners miss the drawer completely and the front comes off when I try to open it. Rang Westinghouse and they told me it was out of warranty. Went back to Harvey Norman where I bought it...Read more
and they said the drawer was similar to one they had in the store. The model similar to mine has had the runners changed so they slide better but it still doesnt look like it slides easily either. The stainless steel model in Harvey Norman has been updated with metal runners and glides easily. Clearly there is a design fault in this model. What can I do . Ive paid good money for something that is really dysfunctional? IPurchased in August 2021 at Harvey Norman Furniture Physical Store for $1,099.00.

Crisper needs re-designing
I bought this fridge in 2016. It works perfectly except for the crisper. It does not remain on the track and becomes most frustrating to pull out and push back. A serviceman advised that it is a design fault, he regularly replaces them and cannot guarantee that it won't happen again. It was replaced under warranty a yr ago and now has the same problem. Westinghouse is about to replace the WHOLE fridge under warranty. What a waste for the sake of such a basic function in a fridge. Trouble is.. what brand to choose?
Purchased in October 2021 at Harvey Norman for $1,255.00.

Noisy Fridge
The fridge maintains a consistent temperature and does what a fridge is supposed to do. However, I have noticed the fridge makes an irritating buzzing noise from time to time. Opening and closing the doors sometimes stops the noise. The next time it makes the noise, I'll record it and send it to the good guys.
Purchased in February 2021 at The Good Guys for $899.00.

Great value!!
This is a great fridge. We bought 2, a left and right hinged and put them side by side. Almost twice the literage of a double door fridge for about the same price! The fridge and freezer Compartments both keep a consistent temperature and are easy to adjust. Really like how much usable space it has for a single door fridge, compared to the double door one we used to have. The doors are easy to open and close unless you just closed the fridge and try to open it again straight away, it gets a bit of suction and you have to tug it.

Love it, very quiet and spacious
Easy to clean, non spill shelving, interchangeable shelving and a great veggie draw which keeps produce very fresh. Spacious freezer and very quiet. Has an ice tray which you turn to fill a tray which is handy for summer. Has a draw in the fridge which is great for the cheese and other dairy. Can’t fault this fridge

Bad design cheap materials
Having just finished a fight with Westinghouse re a stainless steel fridge that rusted they proved that after sales service doesn't exist and they could care after blaming everything except the standard of the material. Consumer affairs managed to get us a small discount on a new fridge and we bought the above quickly as they only gave us 30 days to take up their miserable offer. We discovered after purchase the crisper drawer is not on rollers but gets dragged across a bumpy plastic track. Needless to say a serviceman said it was a design fault and couldn't be fixed. BUY A WESTINGHOUSE PRODUCT AT YOUR OWN RISK, YOU HAVE BEEN WARNED.

Lovely clean design
Really like this fridge - I got it as new on eBay and it really is in new condition. Runs beautifully and quiet as a mouse. No leaks of any problems at all. I really like the shelving - super easy to pull out and clean and adjust. Just a simple, well designed fridge from a reliable maker

Very good apart from the crisper draw.
Have had previous Westinghouse fridges which lasted for 19 years and longer for one prior to that. Downgraded to a smaller model due to kids leaving home and fridge needing replacement. Fridge/freezer works extremely well for cooling etc but crisper draw was difficult to open/close from purchase. Crisper draw now continually drops out of runners even after being put back on.

Door set up
Still unpacking, how and where to place the 2 long shelves on the door? Looks a great fridge, my last one as a Fridgedair purchased in 1963. Helen
I have chosen Westinghouse because they are the same company and I expect the same long service from this fridge, as soon as I set it going.

Great product
This fridge is a great size for 2 people. Very roomy. The freezer is a good size as long as you don’t buy in bulk. The crisper is annoying pushing it in and out. Quite awkward in motion. Very easy to keep clean and it’s not noisy. It keeps the temperature well balanced.

Can’t complain
The reason I went for this model was value for money....it’s the best size from the brand I like in the money I wanted...it’s massive in size has better power rating from my 7 year old 370L Westinghouse...I still think best is if we have freezers down and refrigerator up....that’s no doubt a much convenient option....the problem is in this money I could get one of those but smaller in size....trade off is you go for bigger size or freezer at bottom...I wanted a bigger size so went for it...

Big capacity - being tall rather than wide is great for a small kitchen
We retired our old Westinghouse after 25 years of reliable service, hope the new one does as well.
I love the click in door shelves and the variety of layout options. There is some noise though not half as bad as the old one. With glass shelving it is easy to clean and with good lighting in fridge easy to see what is stored inside. Freezer compartment works well and holds plenty. The door storage in the freezer is well designed and see through so I don't lose things in there. The crisper drawer is driving me insane, but hoping I'll get the knack of it soon. Overall I am very pleased with this fridge/freezer.

Worst crisper draw I have ever used
This fridge's crisper draw is extremely bad. It doesn't slide open at all and has to be lifted off the rails to make it move. It doesn't even appear wide enough to properly fit. It's never properly sealed which makes humidity control completely useless. It's unbelievable this got past any kind of quality assurance. It actually looks like they just got a draw from a different model and tried to make it fit.
It is also a very loud fridge. Build quality is nowhere near as good as the older Australian made Westinghouse fridge we had, which unfortunately was replaced under warranty with this inferior model.
On the positive side it does a good job of staying cold even during the hotter months.

This fridge has been amazing. Maintains great temperature throughout the fridge and freezer and all compartments throughout.
Quiet fridge and very easy to clean. Plenty of space for all the groceries to fit in. The compartments for example crisper is great size to keep fruit and veg fresh for longer.

How do I reduce temperature in refrigerator
2 answers
Hi John, I'm not a refrigerator mechanic just someone who bought a dodgy product from Westinghouse and listed the complaint above when I didn't get satisfaction. Obviously you've played with the thermostat dials and now if your fridge is reasonably new contact the shop where you bought it. If it is outside the 1 year warranty tell them that ACCC (think that's the right body)state that a purchaser can expect the product to perform within the reasonable life of the product. I can't remember whether it's 5, 7, or 10 years for a fridge but you want the shop or Westinghouse to fix it now. All the best but Westinghouse are as slippery as a wet eel when it comes to excuses.
Great response thank you but as they say we think we have a lemon. There are no thermostats dials I can find to adjust. Thats the main issue. Thanks again. John
