Made in Australia, thats a good thing right?
I bought this underbench gas oven to replace one that id put in 2005 so the old one was electric and i had gas plumbing to the cook top (which was also replaced with a Westinghouse by the way)
Anyway the gas line and electric was already plumbed in.. it was as simple as sliding the old one out and sliding the Westinghouse in. Its a gas oven. My electric bill was going through the roof but my gas bill was always in credit so i thought by getting a gas oven i could even the score a bit.. thats yet to be seen because i havent gotten the next gas ...Read more
bill as of writing this... however.. i bought gas also because SA had a statewide blackout a couple years back and hubby got grumpy cos i coukdnt cook his dinner.. having a gas oven may help.... except it wont cos it uses electric to restart the flame when its thermostat kicks in and out. It has no pilot light. I wish the sales lady told me this.. anyway.. it has a thinner wall than previoys oven so even though its same size it is bigger/wider space inside if you understand my wording.. the tray that comes with it diesnt merely sit on a shelf it slides direct into the side rails. I ordered more trays.. you can effectively use this oven to dehydrate foods so you can cram many shelves in. Only for dehydrating though, not for cooking, you need gaps for even heat distribution. I like that it has a proper grill tray for the broiler which is still a traditional electric element by the way. I have no complaints. If this one lasts as ling as the last one ill be happy.. oh the price.... it was triple the price of a comparable electric oven.. not really impressed there... but anyway if thats the only negative i can find then so be it. Theres only 2 knob controllers and a timer so its basic, just how i like it to be, less things to go wrong.

Solid oven for the price
I struggled to find an LPG oven for a reasonable price. There are hundreds of electric ovens with all kinds of fancy features which makes their prices competitive. This is not the case for LPG ovens and they are only made by a few companies.
This oven more than satisfied me with its quality and features for a "basic oven". I particularly like the cool touch door which means I don't have to worry about kids getting burnt. The timer feature with the auto off means I can run around and do other things without worrying about it burning and I can go to sleep with a meringue on knowing that it will turn off after the hour or so of baking is done. We haven't had this long but I feel like it is a quality product and will outlast the house.

Not happy with this oven. Seems to take twice as long to cook anything that it should. Gap at top of
Installed this oven at recommendation of our builder, as I wanted gas oven as I have had great experiences with gas before. I thought it was me just getting used to a new oven, however now that I have used it for 18 mths, now i’m convinced, it’s not me-it’s the oven. Everything seems to take twice as long to cook as it should. There is a gap at top of oven where super hot air blows out, heating the whole house while the food takes way too long to cook. Not happy with this oven at all!!

great value
I bought this one month ago. The price is cheap. And great value for this oven. The function is basic, but enough for daily use. The quality is good. From glass door, you can easy see the inside. And easy to remove the glass to wash. The noise is not bad. When operating the oven, hot air come from the up gap of the door. I think it is common for oven to cool down.

I love my Westinghouse Gas Wall Oven
I love this oven, not only does it save me money, converted to LPG gas from an electric oven that didn't seem to cook very well, this oven cooks perfectly, is very quiet even on fan forced, is very stylish and we got such a good price through The Good Guys. I can highly recommend this oven to anyone looking around.

Perfect
Working very good since I have bought it in 2014. No issues at all for the last few years. I would recommend it to others. It is a robust, nice oven. I have never serviced it. I am fully satisfied from it. Perfect oven for family. Sometime cleaning the glass is not easy

A Very Decent Descendant!
Bought this to replace an awful Westinghouse 650 model (the GXN650 incarnation) that made such a disgraceful electronic hum that it couldn't be left on at the wall ... assuming you wanted to sleep at night ... and have a conversation during the day! The fan assist also roared like an out of tune Sherman tank when in use. Looking at the reviews of others from the 650 series over the years since we bought ours strongly suggest that this is a model that Westinghouse really needs to dump!!
We had such bad memories of the electronic clock/timer/m...Read more
ode mechanism on the 650 that made it necessary to have the thing set in a particular way before it would work at all made us specifically seek out a model with zero electronic interference. This led us to the WV613 line, with the WVG being the latest incarnation. These are no fuss, perhaps even "bottom of the range" gas ovens with inbuilt electric grill element. And that's just how we wanted it!! All you can do is turn on the oven to bake, bake with fan assist, or grill. The master dial for this is at the extreme left of the front panel, with the temperature selector dial right beside it. At the far right of the panel is a simple inertia type timer which sounds an old fashioned type bell at the end of the timed cycle prior to turning the heat off. LOVE the simplicity ... and it's all that we need!! The oven flame lights electronically and automatically during the cooking cycle. The oven works using gas, with models for either LPG or natural - ours is the LPG model. The griller at the top of the oven interior has an electric element as I mentioned. This element can be removed to assist cleaning the ceiling of the oven and the element itself if need be (carefully!!!). The 650 had a separate grill below the oven proper, so it was a bigger unit of around 900MM from top to bottom. This meant that the instal for the new oven would leave a gap of around 300MM. This was easily shelved in to allow space - in our case above the oven to store the grill tray and baking dish when not in use ... or whatever else takes our fancy. The insulation of the model seems quite good - the shelving we've installed immediately over the oven gets only slightly warm during cooking. The model requires only a 10 amp electric outlet - that is - a standard domestic power point, and the cord comes with a standard fitting already attached. Plug and play. Note that there is no switch for the light. It comes on when the oven/grill is activated, and remains on until the unit is switched off. My only criticism .... however manual lights seem to be pretty well non existent these days, at least in the Westinghouse range. Have used it a couple of times and LOVE the change. It is quiet .... deliciously quiet!! It will take a little time to become accustomed to its heating settings - all ovens have their own personality in this respect. And we've yet to enjoy the grilling feature ... but it seems to run well. I think we're going to get along just fine ...!!!Similar opinion? Write a review on ieatwords.com.au!

Good price, nice finish
Replacing our 12 year old Westinghouse with another Westinghouse seemed a logical thing, backed up by competitive prices and the thought that if this oven lasts another 12 years 'we'd be happy!'
Quick to warm up, very accurate temperature gauge, simple to use we could not ask for more, easy to clean well equipped with shelving.

Simple good LPG Underbench Gas Oven
Have just had a new faulty GOR474 (discontinued) converted-to-LPG Gas oven replaced by Electrolux/Westinghouse with this model, the WVG613 SLP, as much as we hated the previous one for causing havoc, we like the new one! This Australian made oven is simple, works really well, the in-oven electric grill is really efficient, the oven came manufactured ready for LPG, so no conversion necessary, & it has quite a nice appearance for a simple oven. Our installer today brought me a great custom fit non stick cast iron Electrolux baking dish which sl...Read more
ides directly in to the side rails, to enable as big a roast as possible for the space, apparently an extra, procurable via your local Electrolux agent - it is very robust & I think good value at around $120. Thank you Westinghouse for the swap.Similar opinion? Write a review on ieatwords.com.au!
