Low/No Fee but rates are high
I have had a Westpac No Annual Fee Mastercard for many years. It was an add on to a home loan and very rarely gets used. It is a high interest rate card with rates currently at 20.24% for purchases and 21.49% for Cash Advances.
Although it is linked to other accounts it is kept more as an emergency fund rather than an everyday card.
The last time I used it was to draw down a plus balance of a few dollars so that I would not mistake it as a payment that needed to be made. That was a big blunder as I got hit with a 'cash withdrawal fee' for trans...Read more
ferring my excess to another account. I contacted customer service after the local bank manager just laughed it off and they fixed up the issue, so kudos to them for being proactive and keeping a customer happy. Last time I attempted to use it overseas was 17 years ago and the transaction failed. No idea why and I used another.

Good low rate card
I got this card due to a reward of $250 credit on completion of spending $800 within 90 days. I have just received the credit. On the first statement you have to pay the fee of $59. It's a MasterCard so can be used anywhere. Interest free for 55 days however rates are quite high if you spend alot and only pay minimal payment. I haven't used the card overseas however you are able to with a small charge.

Not much benefit to this card
I signed up for this card because there was a cashback promotion and have used it for about two years but will probably discontinue it soon (when my next annual fee is due).
There is an annual fee of $59, but no rewards program - which is a big drawback.
The card is easy enough to use, pay off and manage online.
It also gave me access to the Westpac zone at the end of the City to Surf, and paywave function is interesting (but not enough for me to set it up or to keep the card).
