Chose woolworths car insurance as they were great for home insurance. I have been with them now for several years, when car renewal time came I got them to revise quotation. I then got charged for two quotes for the one car .....told it will be up to 10 working days to fix their error ....I can't afford to be out of pocket $1K for that long. Frustratingly long wait times of 45 mins to speak to humans. Next time I will opt to change to cheaper insurance company as Woolworth customer service has declined

There is a dent on my car and the taxi which crashed on my car had a headlight broken and a dent on the front bumper.

Affordable covergae, Easy claims process, great communication throughout.
I've been with woolworths car I strange for over a year now and have 2x cars insured with them. One car unfortunately got classed as written off due to flood damage. Woolworths was brilliant from the minute I put in my claim, to the day the funds came through for my payout. I've never had such an Easy and stress free experience with any insurance provider and once me and my husband buy a new car with our payout, I'll be going struggling back to woolworths insurance to insure the new vehicle. Keep up the great work guys!

My son, 17 was involved in an accident. There was minimal damage to his vehicle, so I figured wait and see what the other driver comes back with before making a claim, as we could probably fix damage ourselves! the other driver did come back just over 3 weeks later with a quote of $2600, which is far more than the excess, so I made a claim. Took the car as advised to the repairer they said. Got a quote, then 3 days later got a text from repairer to say contact insurance it has been declined? I called them to find out why, apparently no one know...
Read mores apart from the claims specialist, who is off!!! So I found this pretty stressful, there is no reason for claim to be refused as far as I know, policy was renewed, payed in full, I answered the text to make an appointment to speak to adviser, took the car to the repairer? I have since been able to resolve this issue, and I am glad I communicated with them.- Value for Money

Lodged claim as i was not at fault and smash repairs guide me about the damage and quote sent to woolworths for approval but took 1 month for processing further and again been sent to different smash repairer dont know why as no one contacted me and promised repairs after 1 month appointment but after wait again full repairs not done as they didn't assess vehicle on time and used 2months as wear tear damage to vehicle. Really disappointed and finally decided to cancel the insurance and buy with some other professional companies. Would not recommend to others as staff is rude and looks unprofessional and needs more training.

While shopping around for comprehensive car insurance, Woolworths initially looked like good value. But while going thru the various options, the quote kept climbing. Within 3 mins of hitting accept, I realised I could get the same deal for $150 less with my existing insurer, so opted out of the Woolworths deal. I received three conformation emails that the policy had been cancelled.

Read morethe policy being cancelled. I rang & it was confirmed that a system error had occurred & that payment had been taken without a policy being issued & yes we are sorry but its going to take 14 days to reverse the payment. So basically, Woolworths did an unauthorised debit from my bank account, without any products or services offered, then failed to issue a receipt for the payment, or notification of a refund. All of which are violations of Australian Consumer law. If they can't even get the basics right, I wouldn't want to be relying on them in a crisis.- Value for Money

Good:
*An insurance portal which means I don't have to call every time to change any details, but the portal could have more functions.
*Less drive less premium.
Bad:
*1 out of 4 people I ever talked to was genuinely not interested in working there. After telling her I waited 34 minutes to talk to her, she was still cold. I get it my business is not her business.
*Customer service told me they would refund the cost of extra mileage I purchased at the end of the year to roll over to next year, but when I cancelled the renewal policy I found out it was not the case. I paid for the mileage I did not use. I was also told there is a 250km grace mileage, now I wonder if that's the case.

Horrific Choice for Car Insurance - Charged without authorisation
I insured both my car and my wife's with Woolworths for a couple of years.
Then my wife had a terrible interaction with their customer service rep, so she switched.
I found a much, much better deal with another insurer, so I switched my car's insurance too.
When I logged in to the Woolworths Car Insurance online portal, there was no option to cancel the auto-renew. This in itself is very poor form. Anyway, I discovered that if you don't want to spend ages on hold on the phone to them, you need to email "[email protected]....

Emailed as per their process to cancel the auto renewal as I had found a better option and couldn't get through on the phone without waiting over an hour. In 3rd month of the policy, a branch from a tree fell on the roof of the car and made an acceptable (1) one dent, I could live with, knowing that the to get it fixed meant paying $1,200.00 excess and the premium going up in the following year. I was with Woolworth Car Insurance for the last 4 years. Every year I would travel overseas for 6 months, hence I would cancel my policy and renew it when I was back in Australia. I just came back back to Australia, where they won't insure me cause I haven't had car insurance for more than 30 days. This was escalated to a senior manager, where he refused too. Read moreour car, or your house might have been on fire and damaged the car. Really crazy stuff coming out of his mouth. I told him, I have to answer honestly before signing up if there is any damage to the car currently and where it has never been a problem in the last 4 years until now. I even gave him an example if I just purchased this car, what if the previous owner had no car insurance on this car. He said he can insure me if I just purchased it. If I were to show proof that you have changed ownership (pay $500 to Vicroads) then back (another $500), Woolworth would insure me. I gave him the example, but what if a tree branch damaged the car or it was involved in a house fire by the previous owner. You don't know, do you? At least I'm being honest with my answer when you ask me if it was involved in any accidents in the last 5 years which I said no. His reply, we can't insure you. I had no accidents or made any claims. I have a perfect rating 1 history. Woolworth Car Insurance is a total joke now! STAY AWAY!! Hi Fitnesspm,
I am sorry to hear about your recent experience with our insurance team and that we were unable to insure your vehicle....
Read more Thank you for raising these concerns, at Woolworths Insurance we welcome and take your concerns seriously. Our Team is here to listen and assist our customers. You have stated some incorrect information in your review, Woolworths does not insure vehicles that have been uninsured for more than 30 days. This is our right as an insurer to determine the risk we are liable for. Your statement that you were told a tree could have fallen on your car or it could have caught fire, these are risks that could occur to your vehicle while you are overseas, therefore it was implied to you that perhaps continuing your insurance whilst overseas could be beneficial to you to protect from these types of incidents. If you have misunderstood the reasons for the comments on these events, please accept my apologies. It was your choice not to insure your vehicle while overseas, just as it is our choice to not insure vehicles that have been uninsured for more than 30 days. It was your suggestion that you should swap the registration between people to allow it to be insured with Woolworths, not ours. In fact, you were told explicitly that Woolworths was not telling you to do this. If you have now found an insurer that will insure your vehicle, then Woolworths wishes you all the best with that policy and company and we hope that you continue to shop with us in the future. Kind regards, Jason Customer Resolution Specialist Woolworths InsuranceThank you for your reply Jason. Now everyone can see from your reply how much of a joke Woolworths really is.
