Superb! One of the best 2-stroke 250cc bikes out there!
My YZ250 came all the way from Southern California, USA. It is a US-model YZ, not the global YZ model issued in Australia, Europe, Japan and elsewhere. This one has a slightly less head volume than the Euro- and Aussie-model, and it uses a shorter tail pipe or silencer. Incidentally, it has a slightly higher compression ratio.
In tight trails and uphills the bike is amazingly luggable. The engine is highly responsive that power comes instantly at the slight twist of the throttle, no lag at all. Since, i ride it most often in tight trails an...Read more
d in enduros, the Speed Sensitive System (SSS) forks can be soften easily through the clickers and with the use of ultra lightweight oils. The carb can be jetted easily and spot-on to ones liking ---- i just leaned out my pilot jet 2-steps down from the stock-setting (from size 50 to 45) to provide me more throttle response off-the-bottom, and also my main jet (from size 178 to 172) to give me more overrev when i need it say in wide backroads/ fireroads. Other than this slight adjustments where I even used Keihin jets to lean out the carb, my bike is pretty-much bone stock, except for the presence of a Works Connection glide plate and aluminum frame guards, Devol radiator guards, Sunline multi-directional bendable brake and clutch levers, One Industries Mach1 full-graphics kit, and the worn-out stock tires changed to Dunlop MX51's. In MX tracks, the bike truly shines, as it was intentionally designed for it. It provides so much power for an intermediate to an expert MX rider. The excellent power, suspension, handling, and lightweightedness of the bike is what truly describes the bike. Truly an amazing MX bike. Overall, the bike is/can always be a do-it-all bike. It is highly adaptable in offroad (technical trails, enduros). While trails and enduros are not the YZ250's natural habitat, the bike still shines. Reliable, inexpensive repairs, superior throttle response, luggable 2-stroke, light, fast, superior suspension mated with a stupendous engine Yamaha hasn't given any major updates to the bike since 2006. It's basically a dated model and the price tag remains the same since its last update.Similar opinion? Write a review on ieatwords.com.au!
