I used weed and feed granular on my lawn. Whist did green it up a little no weeds were killed. The major concern is that it has stained my new paving area. Rang customer service and they said to use CLR. This didn't work. I now have $4000 worth of paving marked with rust stains. Not happy. What can be done.

Hi Sue. I did not have that issue with the staining. However, my daughters lawn is still bare in many sections. After spreading the granules, and then watering in( as instructed), the granules are to this day( 14 months later), still on top of soil to rear yard. The granules turned white in colour- but hundreds are still scattered over yard. Needless to say, the lawn died in many areas and the weeds grew. Not happy with product at all.
On another note, a friend of mine swears by using hydro chloric acid as a means of cleaning pavers. Maybe try to look into the benefits of this product on pavers? Hope this helps
Thanks margie

I applied the product and then it rained within 24 hours after application. What affect does this have?
1 answer
Yates R.Yates
Hi Marie,
Thank you for your question.
If it rained within 48 hours of application, it can reduce the weed control aspect of the product. Regardless, we still recommend deeply watering the lawn 48 hours after the product was applied.
This will ensure that the feeding part of the product can work its way well into the soil to give the lawn a boost. You can reapply the Weed n Feed Granular to your lawn again after 6 weeks.
If you would like further information on this product or any of our selective weed control products, please don't hesitate to contact our team directly, you can find out how here:

Hello Mike,
Thank you for your question.
Yes, you can apply Yates Weed 'n' Feed Granular throughout the year in Sydney (avoiding use during hot or windy weather, or on stressed lawns). The product is registered to control broadleaf weeds in most lawns, including Buffalo lawn varieties. Please ensure you have read and understood all label directions before using the product, and follow them carefully for best results.

Is Yates weed n feed ok for my dogs after I spray the lawn.?

Hi, not eure if its poisonous but it rurined my pavers completely within hours. Leaves nasty caustic stains on the lawn and the concrete areas and if your pets walk on the lawn and then anywhere else afterwards, they will spread this chemical all over the place. YOU WILL BE SORRY.
Not sure as I don't have any pets. I wouldn't use it again.
No. No it is not. Do not allow children or pets on the lawn until you’ve watered it in 2-3 days after application.

Last year .I won't be trying again took 6 months to get back to how it was prior to using this product.hard to spread at the rate they say and makes marks on footpaths and driveways also.this was on new zealand lawn which I know are different to Aussie lawns. The liquid version is better but I got the granular so I did not hit other plants..My recommendation is separate weed killer like the fix and separate fertiliser.
No Yates have not dealt with the problem Same formula same issues. My local Mitre 10 actually recomend not to use this product.
I tried it on my lawn. Gave it 3 separate, generous applications. It didn't go black, didn't kill any weeds - nothing. I'm thinking all it did was feed the weeds as now they appear to be flourishing.

Is it harmful to dogs?
1 answer
Yes it is. I let my dog out on the grass too early (the next day), and he became very very itchy, scratching himself to the point of developing bald patches and sores. So keep pets of treated grass until you know the granules have been watered in properly and the surface dry again.

What is the correct method of applying?

Don't even bother using it. That's the best free advice you'll get. I wish I pulled all my weeds by hand. My concrete is still stained, even after all this time.
